I'm an Extra, so What?-Chapter 12: Goddamn it, Snow
Chapter 12 - Goddamn it, Snow
The moment Luka's foot stepped through the stone door...
"RRRAAAAAWR!"
"RRRAAAAAWR!"
"RRRAAAAAWR!"
The entire outside trembled violently, sending shivers through the floor as Luka struggled to maintain his balance. His arrow and bow slipped from his hands and fell to the ground.
His legs wobbled, and his vision blurred with the shaking as the very foundations of the Dragon Cave seemed to come alive.
With all his strength, Luka tried to stay on his feet, his eyes darting around wildly.
He glanced over his shoulder, his breath catching in his throat.
Inside the Dragon Cave, chaos had erupted.
Gold coins and treasure poured from their once-secure piles, cascading across the stone floors like a river of riches.
The adult dragons, massive and imposing, began stirring from their deep slumber.
Their giant bodies shifted, causing the ground to shake even more violently.
The Dragon Cave's stone walls cracked with the pressure, and fine webs of fractures spread across them.
Luka's heart raced as panic threatened to take over. "How the fuck did these bastards wake up!? I didn't steal anything!"
He was sure he didn't take anything.
Not a single coin!
As the ground quaked and the adult dragons began slowly rising, their enormous heads turning toward him with glowing eyes, Luka's gaze snapped back to Snow.
And then, his stomach dropped.
Snow, perched innocently on his shoulder, was holding a small gold coin in its mouth.
Its golden eyes blinked up at Luka, and it tilted its head, utterly unaware of the disaster unfolding around them.
"Where did you even get that!?" Luka demanded, his voice filled with disbelief.
He didn't expect this—certainly not Snow's mischievousness stirring up a hornet's nest of adult dragons.
Snow blinked again, then, almost shyly, dropped the coin into Luka's hand.
The sound of metal hitting his palm was almost deafening amidst the chaos.
"Goddamn it, Snow..."
Luka's heart raced in his chest as the sound of the adult dragons' thunderous steps grew louder behind him.
His mind was firing on all cylinders, but the only thing that made sense was to run—and run fast.
Snow clung tightly to his neck, its claws digging into him slightly, as it held on with all its tiny might.
"I'm not outrunning these fuckers..." Luka muttered to himself, his breath coming out in sharp gasps.
His thoughts swirled with options, but nothing seemed good enough to survive this.
However, he wasn't about to give up.
"But I'll try my damn hardest!" Luka gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing with determination as he pushed himself forward, gaining more speed, his feet pounding against the stone.
He didn't dare look back.
But then, his instincts betrayed him.
As he stole a quick glance behind him, he saw them—adult dragons, their wings unfurling, their eyes glowing with anger.
"I should've never looked back!" Luka cursed, the thought of being caught already gnawing at him.
Just right ahead, the massive waterfall came into view.
Luka's heart skipped a beat as he locked eyes on it.
It was his only hope.
There was no time to hesitate.
He quickly calculated the jump in his head.
"I got you, little buddy," Luka said.
He grabbed Snow off his neck, holding him tightly to his chest.
He wasn't letting go of Snow—not for anything.
With a deep breath, Luka leaped toward the waterfall.
His body plunged into the cold water, the force of the fall threatening to drag him deeper, to crush the life out of him with its weight.
The chill hit him instantly, his body sinking as the water pulled him downward.
But then, as if the universe was playing a cruel joke, something wrapped around him, a force much stronger than the waterfall itself.
Before Luka could even react, he was yanked upward, tearing through the water and back into the very heart of the Dragon's Cave.
[Ding! You took damage! HP: 5 / 12!]
"You have got to be fucking kidding me!?" Luka yelled, as he found himself suspended in the air, his body upside down, held by something.
His heart nearly stopped as he opened his eyes and saw them.
Many adult dragons now were mere feet away, each one seething with rage, ready to tear him apart.
The sound of their collective growl was deafening.
Luka felt his soul leave his body. 'Welp, I'm a dead man...'
A pure white adult dragon's golden eyes glared down at him.
The cold, wet feeling of the dragon's tail wrapped around him made it difficult to breathe, like a vice tightening around his chest.
"Give. Me. Back. My. GOLD!!!" The white adult dragon's voice boomed, deep and guttural, shaking the very air.
Luka barely managed to maintain his focus, his eardrums feeling as if they were on the verge of bursting.
[Ding! You took damage! HP: 3 / 12!]
As the white adult dragon's tail squeezed tighter, Luka gasped for air, feeling the pressure build against his ribs.
[Ding! You took damage! HP: 2 / 12!]
Luka's body was starting to go numb from the pain, and his hit points dropped with each passing moment, the voice of the system speaking relentlessly inside his head.
His own breath was shallow, struggling to hold on as he tried to gather his thoughts. 'I need to get my shit together... Calm down, I need to calm down.'

A mere second later, Luka blurted out.
"Listen, Snow didn't mean to! A singular gold coin was all he took, accidently. I didn't mean for that to happen, I swear!"
The white adult dragon's eyes narrowed, and Luka felt the tail tighten even more around his body, squeezing the air from his lungs.
[WARNING: Hit Points CRITICAL!]
[Ding! You took damage! HP: 1 / 12!]
Luka gasped, pain searing through him.
The dragon's voice grew darker, full of contempt. "You should've never come here, you greedy human!"
Luka's vision blurred for a moment, but he gritted his teeth.
"I didn't steal anything! I just... I didn't know the little guy had anything on him!"
Once again, the white adult dragon ignored every word, opening its jaws to reveal rows of razor-sharp teeth, ready to kill.
But just as the mouth began to descend toward Luka...
A distant sound reached the white adult dragon's ears—an unexpected chorus of protesting roars from below.
The baby dragons.
"What? He has..." the white adult dragon's voice rumbled, filled with confusion.
It paused mid-action, its attention momentarily shifting to the baby dragons.
