Chapter 169: Plans for the Free World

Ren repeatedly tapped the table with his index finger, "Alright. In our meeting earlier, we decided to meet up in the Free World, because the spawn points of everyone are different."

"That’s good," Margareth commented.

Afterwards, Ethan raised his hand, "Commander, have you checked if there are any teleportation gates between major cities?"

His question was due to his referencing the "waypoint" or teleportation systems for long-distance travel that were often present in fictional fantasy stories.

’I didn’t think about that at all... I was distracted by the fact that I could move again when I first entered the game...’

’I might have to ask the master about this...’

’I seemed to have heard something like that when we were killing monsters...’

Zen, Sera, and Rina thought respectively as they each made a mental note to check for it the next time they entered the game.

Meanwhile, Ren also fell into deep thought, "Hmm, we haven’t considered that. Let’s make that our priority in the game. So that we’ll be able to meet up with each other more easily."

"Commander, how about the currency used inside the game?" Margareth also asked with a raised hand.

Ren looked at her and nodded approvingly, "That’s good. In fact, with Zen’s storage item, we have an advantage in securing more of Free World’s currency..."

At his words, Margareth immediately shot Rina a look, to which the latter responded with a roll of her eyes.

After all, if it had been like other games, then the currency itself would not be a problem since all games use their own uniform currency.

However, the Free World was unique.

In fact, it might not even be a game at all, and must be treated just like the Earth with its own culture, civilizations, and currency.

This was also one of the major reasons why being careful with how they treat the Free World was important.

The meeting room was then filled with the sounds of speaking as people presented their ideas about the Free World.

After a few more discussions, Ren held his hand up, glancing at the people who currently had their hands raised.

"Let’s stop here fr now. Instead, we’ll have a meeting every Saturday afternoon about our findings in the game.

This is to prevent us from making too many assumptions about the game, since it might be too overwhelming if we were to tackle every aspect from the start."

Seeing their nods of agreement, Ren smiled, "Let’s not rush. I think Zen’s rapid progress in the game gave us the misconception that everything and everyone will progress quickly as well. We must remember that our son is a special case."

"So, for now, let’s focus on two things first: To find information about any way of fast long-distance travel, like teleportation gates and whatnot, and finding more about the Free World’s currency and how everything related to it works." He added after a brief pause.

"""""""Yes, Commander!"""""""

"Huh?"

Hearing their response, Ren felt a little confused as his gaze wandered over to his children.

Seeing the two of them also standing up and saluting while responding in a similar way to Margareth and the others, he could not help but choke on his own saliva.

"Hahaha..."

Margareth, Hassan, Ethan, Olivia, Veronica, and even Rina could not help but let out a hearty laugh.

"You brats..."

Ren massaged his temples with his fingers, though a slight smile could also be seen on his face.

***

A few minutes later...

Margareth and the others had bid their farewells as they went on about their own daily routines.

After all, it was not until a week later that they would be able to receive their very own gaming devices.

Currently, only Zen, Sera, Ren, and Rina are left in the meeting room.

Sera had long finished playing with the cube that had the meteor inside it as she whispered, "Brother, can you teach me magic? I want to learn it too!"

"Of course."

Zen answered with a smile, ruffling her snow-white hair in the process.

"Even if I can’t teach you right now, I’ll do so once we meet in the game. After all, the magic in the Free World is different from the usual magic systems in fictional stories."

Hearing his words, Sera nodded with sparkling eyes.

Meanwhile, Rina smiled as she chimed in from the side, "Ugh, that meeting took everything from me. Let’s go have a bite! I heard the cafeteria’s serving gelato."

Just as Sera and Zen were about to stand up from their seats, Ren interrupted, "Wait a minute."

"..."

Zen, Sera, and even Rina looked at him with curious gazes, wondering what he was about to say.

Ren’s gaze wandered over them until it stopped at Zen, "Son, I have something to ask you."

"What is it, Dad?" Zen responded promptly.

"Do you remember what I said earlier in the meeting? The one where I want to gather our people here in the republic?"

"Yes, Dad."

"You all must’ve realized this earlier, but the Eden Republic only consists of a few islands— not even a fraction of Japan or any other island nations."

Ren paused for a moment and continued, "You see, this is because of my assuming something. Can I ask if you can create islands?"

"!!!"

Sera and Rina’s eyes went wide.

After all, even though they had witnessed the encased meteor, creating islands through magic was something that had not crossed their minds.

’To think that Dad had even taken this into consideration...’

Looking at his father in the eye, Zen slowly nodded, "Yes, Dad. I believe I can do it... right now."

This time, it was Ren’s turn to be shocked, "W-What?"

Not only him, but even Sera and Rina could not help but stare at Zen with wide eyes.

"Coincidentally, I still have two more days before I can enter the game again, so I’ll be looking through it. After all, creating an island is not something I have done before."

Zen explained before saying, ’Dad, you’re really amazing. I think I get why they call you the Clairvoyant Tacticia—"

"That’s enough." Ren interrupted with a cough, his cheeks becoming a little red.

He then looked at his son with eyes full of amazement and admiration, "You’re the one who’s amazing, Son. I’ll contact Margareth and the others later, so they will be able to support you."

"I understand..." Zen found his father’s reaction amusing.

On the side, Rina could not help but giggle as well, while Sera seemed not to be able to recover yet.

Ren then looked his son in the eye once again and sighed, "I’m not really good at prediction. I like to think of it as assuming everything."

"Assuming everything?" Zen tilted his head curiously, while Rina looked at her husband lovingly.

Ren nodded, "Yes. Since I believe that every prediction is an assumption until it is verified."

Zen nodded in a trance.

Inside his mind, he seemed to have been enlightened about something, but he could not be exactly sure as to what the thing that enlightened him truly was.

Ren then put his arms around his wife and announced, "Okay, it’s time for gelato!"

"Yayyy!" Rina screamed as she dragged Zen and Sera out of the meeting room with her free hand.

***

The family soon arrived at the cafeteria, and sure enough, the first thing they approached was the station where gelato and other delicious frozen delicacies were present.

There was even a station where they could choose their own toppings, choose whether they wanted to put their gelato in waffles, cones, and other sorts of customization were available as well.

Seeing this, Sera seemed to have broken out of her shocked state as she hurried over the line.

She glanced over her shoulder with an excited look, "Quick, Mom, Dad, Brother!"

"Relax, it’s not like it’s gonna run out." Zen could not help but chuckle softly at his sister’s behavior.

"Hon, let’s just cut the line," Rina whispered to her husband.

Ren had a helpless expression on his face, "Don’t worry too much. The line moves quickly anyway..."

Unbeknownst to them, the brother and sister, as well as their parents, were ironically in the same situation.

Fortunately, the line did indeed move quickly.

It only took the family less than ten minutes before they sat on a chair on the balcony with the view of the sea outside the skyscraper, each holding something in their hands.

Rina had a chocolate waffle with a few scoops of gelato on it.

Sera was holding a chocolate-flavored cone with a swirly gelato scoop that was also drizzled with chocolate syrup.

While Zen and Ren were both holding full pints of gelato in their hands.

If one did not know any better, they would have, for sure, thought that getting gelato was Ren and Zen’s idea in the first place.

The family then ate their desserts, chatting about random things and reminiscing.

The sunset on the horizon cast its hue over the islands and buildings of the Eden Republic, making for quite a beautiful scenery.
