I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 111: A Special Exception
Chapter 111: A Special Exception
Monica who was also standing in the long line just like all the other students patiently waiting her turn turned her gaze towards Eric when his name was called out by the professor.
Her expression was neutral. It betrayed no particular interest or surprise. She just looked at him for a moment then looked away.
Eric felt a wave of nervousness wash over him when he heard his name. He stepped out of the line as the professor had asked.
The eyes of all the nearby Academy staff members and especially the female professor who had called his name immediately focused on him. They all stared. A single thought was likely running through all their minds at that moment.
This is the boy.
This is the one to whom the Emperor himself granted direct entry into the Academy without him having to take any examination.
The weight of that imperial decree that special order from the Emperor and the unspoken expectations it carried was palpable.
Eric could feel it. It made him even more nervous.
The female professor looked at Eric. Her expression was unreadable.
It was hard to tell what she was thinking. "You may proceed to the hall and take a seat," she said her voice crisp and professional. "Your admission has already been processed by the Emperor’s order. You do not need to wait."
Hearing this Eric took a deep breath. He then spoke his voice polite but firm. He had to ask. "My Lady Professor may I observe my friend Alina’s examination? May I wait here for her?"
His request caused a stir a small commotion among the people nearby. Many of the other students who were still waiting in line and some of the staff members turned to look at Alina. Then they looked back at Eric.
Their expressions were a mixture of surprise and curiosity. Why was he asking this? Who was Alina to him? The female professor also looked at Eric intently for a moment. freewebnoveℓ.com
She seemed to be considering his unusual request. It was not a normal thing to ask.
After a brief pause after thinking for a moment the professor replied. Her tone was stern her voice serious.
"If you are caught cheating during the examination or if you are caught attempting to assist your friend Alina in any way I will personally ensure that both you and your friend are permanently barred from this Academy. You will never be allowed to enter again. Do you understand this condition clearly?"
Eric nodded his head immediately. He understood perfectly. The professor in her own way was granting him permission. She was allowing him to stay near Alina during the exam.
But it came with a very clear and very severe warning. He knew he had to be careful.
The professor then gestured with her hand towards a spot to the side of the main entrance to the Academy building. "You may stand there while she takes her test," she instructed.
Eric let out a quiet sigh of relief. He was glad she had agreed. He moved to the designated spot. It was a short distance from the flow of students who were now entering the examination hall.
He could wait there.
The professor then turned her attention back to the remaining students who were still in the queue.
"Alright everyone," she announced her voice regaining its earlier briskness its efficiency.
"It is now your turn for the written examination! Please proceed in an orderly fashion!"
At her command the Academy staff members began to guide the students line by line into the main Academy building.
As Alina passed Eric on her way inside to take the test he gave her a discreet thumbs-up a small sign of encouragement.
He also mouthed the words "Best of luck" to her silently. She offered a small nervous smile in return. She was scared but she was also determined.
Within a few minutes all the students from their particular batch their group had disappeared into the Academy building. The examination was about to begin for them. The female professor however remained outside for a moment longer.
She looked at Eric who was standing patiently where she had told him to. "Follow me," she said. Her voice was still professional.
"I will not allow you into the classroom itself that is against the rules. But you can observe your friend from outside the room."
With that the professor turned and entered the building. Eric managing his own lingering apprehension his own nervousness followed her. He was curious to see where Alina would be.
Inside just a short distance down a wide corridor from the main entrance he saw a very large classroom. The room was filled with many rows of simple wooden benches and desks.
They were all facing the front. Students were already taking their seats one by one. A hushed silence a quietness was falling over the room as they settled in and prepared for the exam.
An examination paper a sheet covered in numerous questions was placed on each desk by other Academy staff members. These staff members were acting as proctors invigilators within the classroom.
They were there to make sure no one cheated.
The female professor who had escorted Eric in did not enter the classroom itself.
Another teacher presumably the one who was assigned to invigilate this particular examination was already present inside the room.
This teacher was walking up and down the aisles overseeing the students making sure everyone was ready.
The professor led Eric to a spot in the corridor just outside the large classroom.
The classroom had big windows that faced out into the corridor. These windows allowed a clear view of the students who were inside taking their test.
From this vantage point from where he was standing Eric could see Alina.
He watched as she found her assigned seat. He saw her take a deep breath and then begin to focus on her examination paper trying to answer the questions.
A short distance away from Alina in the same classroom Monica the Second Princess was also seated.
She was already completely engrossed in her own examination paper. Her entire attention was devoted to the questions before her.
Her expression was one of intense concentration. She was clearly taking this test very seriously even though she was a princess.
He hoped Alina would do well.
