I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 110: Name Called Out
Chapter 110: Name Called Out
The moment Monica saw the approaching professor the white-haired man with the bow and arrows she inclined her head slightly.
It was a gesture of polite acknowledgement a small sign of respect.
"It is honor to meet you Mr. Shadow," she said. Her voice was clear and respectful.
She knew who he was. But her voice was also devoid of any undue deference. She wasn’t overly bowing down to him. She was still a princess.
Mr. Shadow the white-haired professor of archery magic offered a faint professional smile.
It was a small smile just for show. He gestured with one hand towards the main Academy building the large structure behind him.
"Second Princess Monica," he stated his tone formal and official "you will need to join the queue with the other students. Your batch’s written examination the first part of the test will commence shortly. It will begin soon."
Monica nodded her understanding. She knew the rules. The Academy staff members who had gathered around her looking flustered and important now took their cue from Professor Shadow.
They respectfully guided Monica towards the line where Eric and Alina were already standing.
The process the procedure for entering the Academy even for her the Emperor’s daughter was to be the same as for every other applicant.
There were no special privileges at this stage.
As Monica was ushered into the line her gaze briefly fell upon Eric. She recognized him.
He was the boy from their encounter in the palace garden the previous day the one whose wooden sword she had broken.
However after a mere second of acknowledgement just a quick glance her attention shifted away from him.
She dismissed him as insignificant unimportant.
In Monica’s eyes Eric was not a noteworthy figure. He was not someone she needed to pay any attention to.
She had personally tested his strength or rather what she perceived as his lack of strength. And she was completely convinced that he did not possess the extraordinary potential her father the Emperor seemed to believe he had.
Therefore Eric’s presence in the same queue as her in the same group of students barely registered as a matter of consequence to her. He was just another face in the crowd.
Monica took her place in the line. Her expression was composed and unreadable. She showed no emotion. Professor Shadow having ensured that the Princess was integrated into the standard procedure for all students gave a slight bow towards her.
Then he turned and walked back towards the main Academy building his task with her completed. He had other things to do.
Monica understood the protocols perfectly. These were her father’s rules. The Emperor himself had established them many years ago. They were designed to ensure fairness.
They were meant to test the true mettle the real strength and character of all who sought entry into the prestigious United Academy. Even as the Emperor’s daughter she was expected to adhere to them.
She had to follow all the rules just like every other student. Her older brother and her older sister had both done so before her when they attended the Academy. Her older brother was a figure Monica deeply admired.
She considered him her lifelong idol her hero. He was widely acknowledged across the continent as the most powerful warrior after the Emperor himself. He was incredibly strong.
He doted on Monica he loved his younger sister very much.
And she in turn aspired to one day surpass him in power to become even stronger than he was.
That was her secret ambition.
Eric meanwhile was experiencing a profound sense of shock. He was still trying to process everything.
The realization that the arrogant powerful young woman he had sparred with in the garden the one who had so easily bested him and broken his sword was none other than Monica the Second Princess of the Empire the very individual whose name had been chanted by thousands of people in the city... it was staggering.
He couldn’t quite believe it.
Alina standing beside him was equally astounded.
She too was in shock. She turned to Eric her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Is that... is that really the Emperor’s daughter?" she whispered her voice filled with awe and a little bit of fear. "Is she truly Princess Monica of the Empire?"
Eric could only nod his head slowly. He was still trying to process the information himself.
"I... I had no idea," he admitted his voice also a whisper. "I had no idea we were having a practice match with Princess Monica yesterday. I just thought she was some other noble."
A new understanding of the previous day’s encounter in the garden was dawning on him. No wonder she had been so strong so skilled.
No wonder she had been so dismissive and arrogant.
She was the Emperor’s daughter.
As Eric and Alina were still grappling with this revelation still trying to come to terms with who Monica really was another figure emerged from the main Academy building.
This professor came from a different entrance a side door that opened directly onto the vast examination field where all the students were waiting. She was a woman.
She appeared to be around twenty-eight years old. She had long dark black hair that flowed down her back.
Her attire her clothes marked her as a magician.
She carried an air of brisk efficiency a no-nonsense attitude. She looked like she was ready to get things done.
She stepped forward confidently. Her voice was clear and it carried easily across the assembled students in the field.
"Alright everyone your batch’s written examination is about to begin now!" she announced loudly so everyone could hear. "So all of you prepare yourselves! Get ready!"
A fresh wave of nervousness rippled through the lines of waiting students. They exchanged anxious glances with each other. The reality of the impending test the first big challenge was setting in.
This was it.
The female professor then paused for a moment scanning the large crowd of students with her sharp eyes.
"And one more thing before we start," she called out her voice sharp and clear. "Is there a student in this particular batch by the name of Eric? Eric of Estoria? If so please step forward immediately."
Hearing his name called out so unexpectedly in front of everyone Alina immediately turned to look at Eric.
Her expression was a mixture of surprise and concern. Why was his name being called?
