I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 123: Unexpected Allies
Chapter 123: Unexpected Allies
Adam was completely unfazed by the brewing storm of hostility that was coming from the upperclassmen.
He turned his back on them once more. He addressed the crowd of nervous first-year students. His voice was calm and resolute.
It was as if the four powerful factions standing right behind him didn’t even exist. He was ignoring them completely.
"To every student who decides to join The New Warriors," he announced.
His voice carried a strange compelling authority a power that made everyone want to listen.
"I assure you of one very important thing. You may not receive special privileges or resources from the Academy like the other groups do. But you will be guaranteed something that is far more valuable than any of that."
The first-year students leaned in closer. Their attention was completely captivated by his words.
They stared at Adam with an intense curiosity. They were hanging on his every word wondering what he would say next.
Adam smiled. It was a genuine almost revolutionary smile. It was a smile full of promise.
He raised both his hands in a grand welcoming gesture as if inviting them all to a new world.
"You will have complete freedom!" he declared loudly.
"You will not be anyone’s servant. You will be treated with absolute respect by me and by every other member of our group! Even if you are a relative of the Emperor himself a prince or a princess I will treat you no differently than I would any commoner. Your status outside of this Academy means nothing here. And within this new group The New Warriors all members will treat each other with this same respect. We will be a group of equals!"
His words were a radical departure a complete opposite from the hierarchical predatory system they had just been introduced to by the other factions.
The first-year students exchanged looks of stunned disbelief.
A new thought a new idea began to take root in their minds. Is such a thing even possible in this place? Can a group like that really exist here? Everything they had seen and heard since arriving at the United Academy the brutal beating of Kado the arrogant words of the upperclassmen suggested that it was not.
Samba the representative of the Red Team had been watching Adam’s speech with a growing rage. His face was a mask of cold fury.
He looked over at the members of his group.
He gave a subtle almost imperceptible nod of his head. It was a signal. It was time to act.
From the ranks of the Red Team a second-year student with dark black hair stepped forward.
He pointed both his hands towards Adam his expression grim and determined. "It’s time to put you in your place you arrogant first-year," he growled.
He then uttered two words his voice sharp and laced with magical power. "Time Stop!"
The moment the words were spoken the air around Adam seemed to warp and crystallize. Large transparent rectangular structures like panes of solidified energy materialized around Adam’s body.
They were taller than him. They began to rotate around him in a tight constricting orbit a magical cage.
As these transparent paper-thin energy panes passed through Adam’s body a strange paralyzing sensation washed over him.
The panes continued their relentless cyclical path.
They phased through his form again and again. Each pass reinforced the binding effect making it stronger. The energy a constant stream was originating from the hands of the second-year student who was casting the spell.
The energy would pass through Adam and then dissipate a short distance away only to be replaced by the next rotating pane in the circle.
Adam felt his entire body from his mouth to his fingertips freeze completely. He tried to move. He tried to even twitch a single muscle but he couldn’t.
He was locked in place.
He was like a statue caught in a cage of temporal energy a cage of frozen time.
I didn’t expect these children to possess such a dangerous skill, Adam thought to himself.
A flicker of genuine surprise cut through his usual arrogance.
This was a sophisticated high-level binding technique. It was not something he would have anticipated from a mere second-year student at this Academy.
These students were stronger than he had first thought.
The [System Window: Millennia] instantly appeared in his internal vision his mind’s eye.
"[Master Adam]" it stated its tone as neutral and calm as ever "[this is a Tier 3 Time-element binding spell. It is quite powerful. I am searching for a suitable counter to this skill now. Please wait.]"
But before Adam could respond to Millennia before the System could complete its analysis of the spell something unexpected happened.
From the crowd of first-year students one boy moved.
It was the same boy with the brown-tinted skin and the dark black hair—the disguised demon. He moved with a startling unnatural speed. He closed the distance between himself and the caster in a blur.
In just a matter of seconds he was standing right beside the paralyzed Adam. He was now within the field of the rotating energy panes.
The demon boy still in his human guise reached out a hand. He moved it towards the shimmering transparent energy that held Adam captive.
The moment his fingers touched the energy pane a strange thing occurred.
The paralyzing energy instead of affecting him instead of freezing him too seemed to be drawn towards his hand.
It flowed into his palm like water going down a drain. It was absorbed completely vanishing without a single trace.
The rotating panes of energy flickered once and then disappeared. The "Time Stop" spell was completely broken.
Adam whose gaze had still been fixed on the first-year students had witnessed the entire scene unfold. He was now even more surprised than before.
This apathetic demon this being who had seemed content to just stand back and watch the show had just intervened. He had helped him.
The situation in this Academy was becoming more and more interesting by the second.
Adam was starting to enjoy himself. This was much better than a normal school life. This was a challenge. And Adam loved a good challenge.
