Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!-Chapter 17: Greedy Family Members
Josh curled his lips.
On the bed, the breathing of the two gradually became steady.
Josh "unconsciously" turned over in Fuer’s direction, his arm draping over her chest.
Fuer awoke with a start, grabbing the whip by the bed.
Josh unknowingly rubbed against her neck, murmuring, "Sister, it’s so hot..."
Fuer coldly snorted without expression, "Burn to death."
[Ding! Gained 10 points of favorability with Fuer, current favorability 50.]
Covered with a blanket, Josh was sweating all over. Unable to bear it, she frowned and kicked off the blanket, "It’s hot..."
Her outstretched foot nudged Fuer’s leg.
Fuer, seeing her completely exposed facing the air conditioner, turned away irritably, "Die from the heat!"
After some time, she turned back and harshly covered Josh with the blanket, "Burn to death! Burn to death! Burn to death!"

Josh finally settled down, her frown soon relaxing.
Only then did Fuer lie back down to continue sleeping.
An hour later, Josh woke up from a nightmare in fright, "No!"
Awakened, Fuer: "..."
Josh weakly leaned towards Fuer, "Sister Fuer, I’m scared."
Fuer: "Get lost."
Josh clung to her using both hands and feet, "I dreamed my parents didn’t want me anymore."
Fuer glanced at her, "You are so annoying, no wonder."
Josh puffed out her cheeks, hurt showing on her face. She rested her head forlornly on Fuer’s shoulder, "My parents were gone when I was very young."
Hearing this, Fuer stiffened, as she was the same.
Josh blinked in the dark, "I grew up in an adoptive family on the Garbage Star. Did you know? I thought I was a lost child from my parents, waiting every day on the Garbage Star for them to come find me."
"The day I reunited with my parents, I saw their adopted daughter. It was then I realized they didn’t search for me because they had a better replacement."
"They all liked my sister, not me."
"My sister was raised by my biological parents, showered with love and privileges I could only dream of, in education, food, and clothing."
"She took my place, enjoying everything meant for me, including my parents’ love. I thought, once I returned home, she would give these back to me."
"But I was wrong. No one welcomed my return, not even my parents, so I began to hate my sister. It was because of her that my parents didn’t love me. If only she disappeared from this world..."
A dark shade flashed in Fuer’s eyes, lying there wide-eyed in the darkness.
The darkness was the best cover, allowing her to reveal her emotions without restraint.
Josh continued, "But I can’t kill my sister. I’m afraid I’d regret it. She’s so cute, so gentle, no one in the world wouldn’t love her."
She deliberately brought up family and her sister to guide Fuer’s emotions.
Sure enough, Fuer took the bait quickly.
She suddenly spoke, "Even if you kill her, so what? Nothing will change."
Josh tilted her head curiously, somewhat naive, "Why?"
Fuer’s eyes held longing, "I used to have a sister too. Later, my sister died, but my mother didn’t treat me any better because of it. So, just forget it."
A dark shade flashed in Josh’s eyes.
In Fuer’s diary, it clearly stated that an octopus broke into her home, killing her parents and sister. Why did she say that after her sister died, her mother didn’t treat her any better?
Her mother shouldn’t be alive.
Josh frowned slightly.
Could it be that both the diaries and newspapers were wrong?
Her mother hadn’t died?
No, even if the newspapers were wrong, a diary wouldn’t lie.
A diary is the best evidence to glimpse into someone’s mind; Fuer didn’t need to lie in her own diary.
Could there be a twist later in the diary?
She was about to say something, but Fuer had already pushed her away, turning her back with a hint of coldness in her voice, "It’s late, go to sleep. If you don’t, get out."
Josh knew she couldn’t rush it, so she quickly relaxed, closing her eyes to sleep.
The Augustine family members watching the live stream heard Josh’s complaints in the game, and instead of feeling guilty, they felt disgusted.
Mother Cherry’s face showed indignation, "How am I supposed to hate her? I brought her back to the Augustine family, what more does she want?"
Father Glennan couldn’t help but snort, "So greedy, at least now she has food and shelter at the Augustine family. Otherwise, should we send her back to the Garbage Star to eat trash?"
Brother Cromwell gently patted Susanna’s head to comfort her, "Don’t be upset. I swear, even if we’re not related by blood, you’ll always be our beloved little princess, my sister. Even if she shares our bloodline, she’s just an animal sharing our blood, she’s not a fraction of you."
The other brother Dalton nodded along, "Exactly! She’s jealous, harms you, and uses the most venomous words to insult you, all because of her lowly pride. You’re elegant and radiant, the jewel of Grenel City, and there’s no one who wouldn’t like you."
Susanna was cheered up and lightly kissed both brothers on the face, then turned to her mother Cherry’s embrace.
Looking at the person on the live screen, the smile on her face faded a bit, "But she tricked me, got me out of the game early, and all I got were the worst items. The weapons I synthesized were too poor quality..."
"Don’t worry, my child," Cherry lovingly rubbed her little face, "Isn’t Josh still in the game? If she synthesizes weapons of better quality than yours, I’ll make her give her weapons to you."
"Really?" Susanna looked at her excitedly.
Cherry nodded elegantly, "Of course, don’t forget, the Augustine family isn’t hers to command."
"Mommy, I love you!"
In the game.
Evening gradually descended.
After waking from sleep, it was nighttime again, and time for the circus to perform.
Josh sat in the audience, with the other four sitting around.
Knowing the capriciousness of the gameplay, they no longer obsessed over their seats.
Qian Duobao’s hand wrapped in gauze caught her attention.
Josh looked over, "What happened to your hand?"
Qian Duobao said gloomily, "Scalded by water. There’s something strange about the water in that pool, like concentrated sulfuric acid. The little monkey’s toy ball fell in, I went to help fetch it, and got scalded."
Josh glanced unexpectedly at the pool; when she manipulated the puppet earlier, the water in the pool didn’t seem corrosive.
Could it be effective only on living land creatures?
No wonder those little monkeys and lions didn’t have any intention of picking up the pieces when they fell into the pool.
She looked at the group, "Have you gone to boost the animals’ favorability again?"
Qian Duobao nodded, "Zhu Yongchang and I woke up a bit earlier, so we went to boost favorability."
Josh didn’t say anything, watching the performance on stage.
