Chapter 21: Chapter 21 I suggest you go to the hospital

"Shuqing, you need to return to the studio first thing tomorrow morning."

"Why?" she asked instinctively.

"It’s not convenient to explain over the phone, but you need to be mentally prepared."

Upon hearing this, Zhuang Shuqing’s heart skipped a beat, sensing that the editor-in-chief was hinting at something concerning her.

On the other end, the editor-in-chief whispered into the phone, "Tan Biyang found out it was our studio that leaked her incident last time. She wants to drag you out. You must think of a way before you come back."

Zhuang Shuqing’s expression grew cold, "Alright, I understand."

After hanging up, she blankly stared at the stack of materials on the table.

Although the editor-in-chief always pressured her, she knew he had high hopes for her and believed he would not deceive her.

Otherwise, why would he have specifically lowered his voice to tell her about it?

It seems that someone higher up is pressuring her, forcing her to withdraw a major follow-up report here and pushing her to return.

Zhuang Shuqing’s expression turned even colder. Considering they needed her to be within Tan Biyang’s sight, risking missing such an opportunity, it appeared that individual had a good relationship with Tan Biyang.

She packed up her things and went to the duty room, which was empty. Not knowing where to find anyone else and fearing causing controversy if she just appeared in the large dormitory.

After some thought, she returned to her dormitory floor and knocked on the door next to hers.

The door wasn’t closed, and Zhuang Shuqing stood outside, hearing a voice from inside.

"Come in."

She hesitated for a moment, then braced herself and walked in.

The man didn’t turn around, sitting shirtless with his back to her. From her angle, he was bent over working on something.

A thought flashed by too quickly for her to catch, then she heard him say, "What do you need?"

Her gaze slowly left his sharply defined back, "Lu Jinyang, how should I leave here if I must?"

She clearly saw the man’s figure stiffen and even tremble slightly as she spoke.

Without turning around, he paused briefly before asking, "You want to leave?"

"Yes, there’s trouble at the studio. If possible, I would like to leave this afternoon."

Lu Jinyang slowly stood up and walked towards her, and it was then she saw what was on the table behind him, realizing what the fleeting thought had been.

He was changing the bandages on his abdominal wound.

She remembered it had been a long time since he was injured and by common sense, the wound should have mostly healed.

Lost in thought, he had already approached her.

Zhuang Shuqing was tall, but the man was taller, with her stature only reaching his shoulders. Thus, when she looked down, his perfectly defined abs dominantly occupied her view. The man’s unique crisp scent wafted over to her, causing Zhuang Shuqing to subconsciously shift sideways.

"Find Leng Yixing, he will arrange it."

"I can’t find him... otherwise, I wouldn’t have come looking for you."

Lu Jinyang looked down at the top of her head and smirked, "Do something for me, and I’ll take you with me."

She abruptly looked up, "What is it?"

The man shifted his gaze to his abdominal wound and began lightly, "Since you saved me initially, you ought to know how to dress a wound, right?"

At his words, Zhuang Shuqing looked up incredulously, "Weren’t you just treating the wound?"

"That was just a temporary fix."

"..." She took a deep breath, "I’m not a professional; I suggest you go to the hospital."

"I don’t like it." He turned around and walked back, with his broad shoulders resembling a walking coat rack, projecting a strong sense of security.
