Infinite Doubling: Conquering the Divine Realm from an Island-Chapter 42: The Slave Contract
Singh turned his head and saw the black dragon circling in the sky, freezing in place, utterly shocked.
After a moment, his legs grew weak, and he collapsed to the ground, unable to hold himself up any longer.
The black dragon hovered above, its eyes locked on them, its jaws opening and closing, revealing sharp fangs.
"Boss... what should we do?" a short player stammered, looking at Singh with fear.
"Yeah, Boss, weren’t you saying before that you’re not scared of this black dragon?" another player turned to Singh, hoping for some reassurance.
"Damn it, now you push me out here!" Singh gritted his teeth and cursed, scanning the area desperately for cover.
Meanwhile, George watched the players’ reactions with amusement, finding the whole situation rather entertaining.
"I’m really sorry, but if you weren’t with us, maybe you could have had a chance to survive!" the female player walked over to George, offering a somewhat apologetic look.
George glanced at the woman in surprise, his opinion of her lifting slightly.
She wasn’t much in terms of looks or power, but she seemed kind-hearted.
Unfortunately, her words were overheard by Singh, who immediately flew into a rage, pointing at George and shouting, "It’s him! It’s him! This star of misfortune is the one who’s going to get us all killed!"
George shot Singh a quick glance but ignored his desperate outburst.
Seeing that George wasn’t responding, Singh grew even bolder and yelled, "If you have any decency, you’ll draw the black dragon away for us!"
"Singh!" The female player was getting annoyed now and stepped forward to defend George, "We chose this route ourselves, what does it have to do with him?"
"You’re still defending him!" Singh drew his machete, his voice laced with a murderous edge. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
The female player was about to say more, but George stopped her with a firm hand.
No matter what, he wasn’t going to let a female player take the lead for him.
He looked at Singh and the other angry players, his voice cold: "The black dragon is still circling above. Are you really starting to fight among yourselves now?"
"What else can we do? Do you expect us to kill that black dragon?" one of the players spoke in a tone of despair.
"Yeah, maybe if we kill you and use your corpse as bait, we might have a chance to survive!" another player said with a vicious tone.
Hearing their words, George let out a soft sigh, his killing intent growing stronger.
At first, he had been considering whether to spare the lives of these players, but now, it seemed there was no need for that anymore.
Just as the players were about to make their move on George, the black dragon in the sky began its hunt.
With a simple dive, it grabbed two players and snatched them up.
Then, right in front of everyone, the black dragon swallowed the two players alive.
The remaining players watched in horror as blood and flesh churned in the dragon’s mouth, and a cold shiver ran down their spines.
Especially Singh, who had been the loudest among them earlier. He collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably.
"What do we do? What do we do?" the female player asked in fear, looking helplessly at George.
Her account wasn’t the best, but she had spent a lot of time leveling it up, and losing it like this made her feel incredibly unfair.
George chuckled softly, watching the black dragon hunt.
For some reason, though, the black dragon seemed to ignore George and the female player next to him.
The woman thought it was her luck, unaware that it was actually George using the Dark Crystal to conceal them.
In the blink of an eye, the black dragon had hunted down all the remaining players in the area.
When the woman saw that the dragon wasn’t coming for her, she couldn’t help but break down in tears of joy.
But just as she was about to relax, George suddenly spoke coldly to the dragon, which was preparing to leave. "You’ve eaten so many, and you’re just going to leave empty-handed?"
At the same time, he withdrew the Dark Crystal, and the black dragon immediately took notice of the two of them.
The female player didn’t understand this; she only thought that George’s voice had alerted the dragon.
She grabbed his hand, anxious. "Don’t speak! It’ll notice us!"
"I want it to notice me," George said calmly, as the Holy Light wings slowly materialized behind him.
He knew that if his goal was the Obsidian, sooner or later, he would have to face the black dragon.
This battle was unavoidable!
When the female player saw the wings behind George, she froze in shock.
It was only then that she began to realize that the handsome player she had just met might be a hidden master.
George slowly floated into the air, the Dwarven King Iron Hammer and the Deep Sea Shield appearing in his hands.
The black dragon glanced at his equipment and roared, "Get out of here, and I’ll spare you this time!"
George pointed toward the valley below and smiled, "If you hand over the Obsidian without a scratch, I might consider sparing your life!"
"You’re dreaming!" The black dragon roared angrily, its voice full of fury.
The Obsidian was something it used to absorb energy—there was no way it would let George take it.
"So, no deal then?" George shook his head, the outcome still within his expectations.
"Abyssal Curse."
George spoke softly, and in an instant, a demonic mark appeared, striking the black dragon.
The moment the mark hit, the black dragon let out a shriek as 20% of its Martial Energy was drained, converting into a blood-red shield that surrounded George.
At the same time, the entire world seemed to warp before the black dragon’s eyes.
The figure of George, standing in front of him, morphed into a demon... a demon that made the black dragon tremble in fear.
The dragon felt its body weaken, its strength fading away as if it couldn’t muster any more energy.
Before George even made a move, the black dragon let out a final cry, its wings that had been vibrating earlier now still, and it collapsed to the ground.
"Ugh..." George looked down at the dragon lying limp on the ground, a hint of contempt in his gaze.
He had expected the dragon to last a few more rounds, but it was even weaker than he thought.
With just one use of Abyssal Curse, the dragon had lost all its resistance.
But, it made sense. The demonic mark was nearly guaranteed to hit creatures of such a large size, and the 30% chance to lose the ability to act was a game-changer.
"Let me send you on your way," George said with pity, glancing at the dragon before raising the Dwarven King Iron Hammer, ready to strike.
But the black dragon seemed to realize something and hurriedly called out, "Spare me, spare me!"
Facing death, it had lost its earlier arrogance and only wished to beg for mercy before George.
George merely glanced at it coldly and replied, "If I kill you, I might get some rewards. Keeping you alive will only bring trouble!"
Upon hearing this, the black dragon’s mind started racing.
Perhaps the fear of death was overwhelming, but for the first time, the black dragon’s mind became unusually sharp.
It called out loudly, "You need the Obsidian, don’t you? Are you planning to build a fortress?"
George was surprised and looked at the dragon, but he nodded and said, "That’s right."
The black dragon quickly continued, "My lord, since you are building a fortress, don’t you need a guard? A very impressive one!"
"Oh?" George’s gaze hardened as he focused on the dragon, already guessing its intentions.
"Take me in, and I’ll help guard your fortress. I can even be your mount!" The black dragon practically twisted its brain to please George, desperate to save its life.
Surprisingly, these words did manage to move George a little.
He thought for a moment—if his fortress had a black dragon guarding it, it would certainly appear much stronger and more impressive.
As the first Viscount among players, George naturally had the highest standards for the construction of his domain.
"Sign a slave contract with me, or I’ll kill you right now," George said, pulling out a piece of parchment and handing it to the black dragon, signaling for it to sign.
The black dragon gritted its teeth, not expecting George to be so cautious.
But seeing that George’s Dwarven King Iron Hammer was ready to strike at any moment, the dragon had no choice but to reluctantly sign the slave contract.
After the contract was signed, George let out a breath of relief and considered the black dragon one of his own.
He turned to the female player standing dumbly nearby and smiled. "I’ll give you a ride, take you to the nearest city."
The female player’s eyes briefly flashed with a hint of sadness, but she still nodded and smiled.
From what she had seen of George’s fighting skills, she knew he was a top-tier player.
A player like him would never take an interest in an ordinary player like her.
Once the issue with the female player was settled, George climbed onto the black dragon and flew to the valley below, where the place was filled with obsidian.
Without hesitation, George began collecting the obsidian, clearing out the entire valley.
"Master..." The black dragon now addressed George as its master.
It spoke with a tinge of complaint, "I’ve been surviving on this obsidian. If you take it all, I’ll starve!"
"I see," George furrowed his brows, asking, "What else can you eat? Grass? Or meat?"
The black dragon shook its head, a hint of pride in its tone. "I’m a true dragon, of pure blood. To be honest, obsidian isn’t even worthy of my status."
"You know," the dragon continued, with a touch of regret, "my ancestors used to feast on various Crystals."
"Crystals? You mean this stuff?" George chuckled in disdain, then casually tossed two Holy Crystals to the dragon.
At first, the black dragon didn’t react, but after a moment, it realized that what George had just given it... was Holy Crystal!
