Infinite Dragon Beast: Taming Ice Dragons with SSS Ranked Talent-Chapter 119: Rachel’s Change of Demeanor
Aiden, Aurora, Amber, and Joe were stunned. They immediately stopped eating when they saw Rachel behaving differently. That night, on the dining table, Rachel ate the entire chicken dish with gusto.
"Master Aiden?" called Rachel, mouth full of food.
Aiden looked at his plate, not a single piece of chicken left. He sighed, asking the servants to prepare the roast chicken again.
Aurora tilted her head, whispering to Aiden with her eyes still focused ahead, "This is the third time he’s eaten all that roast chicken. What’s really happening?"
"I don’t know. Maybe the absorption of the dark energy was draining her energy," Aiden replied.
"Then what are we eating?" Aurora asked.
"You and the others go to town and buy the food you like. Here’s the money."
Aiden took out ten gold coins on the dining table, handing them to Aurora. The white-haired girl cleared her throat and nodded, much better to go out for food than to have all the chicken eaten by Rachel.
"What about you?" asked Amber.
"I’m fine, I just don’t feel like eating."
Amber nodded. They said goodbye to Rachel and Aiden. At first, Rachel wanted to come along, but Aiden stopped her by saying that the roast chicken would be ready. He also said that Aiden would stay home with Rachel.
In the end, Rachel agreed. Aurora and the others went to the city center to arrive at the food district, eating the food they wanted. Unlike Aiden, he remained at home watching Rachel’s behavior change significantly.
"Rachel?" greeted Aiden, Rachel raised her head as she continued to chew her food.
"Do you know about the necklace?" asked Aiden.
The young man pointed at the shadow dragon necklace Rachel was wearing. Rachel lowered her head and looked at her own necklace. The black-haired girl shook her head, having no idea at all.
’It seems she doesn’t remember anything that happened in that place,’ Aiden explained.
"That necklace is from your family. It’s King Villar’s necklace," said Aiden.
"My father’s necklace?" asked Rachel, shocked.
"That’s right. You have three chances to summon your father’s shadow dragon power. So, I need you to listen to me, Rachel," Aiden explained.
"You can only use that power if I say so. Do you understand?" asked Aiden.
Rachel was silent, for some reason Aiden’s figure seemed to glow and radiate the aura of warmth she wanted. It was different from before when Rachel only saw Aiden as her master.
’He’s my family. I must obey him,’ Rachel said.
"Yes, Master Aiden. I will obey it."
Aiden smiled, pleased to hear that Rachel would listen to him. The house servants came to the dining table, arriving with a tray of plates full of sliced chicken.
Rachel looked excited, her eyes wide with her heart beating fast. Her hand wiped her mouth which was smeared with the roast chicken spices, Aiden smiled at Rachel’s innocence.
He reached into his pants pocket and pulled out a clean handkerchief for her. Rachel looked shy, accepted the handkerchief and started cleaning her mouth and fingers.
The servants were whispering in the kitchen, saying that Rachel was a glutton who ate up all the food meant for her group. It seemed that Rachel heard that, and suddenly their words made the girl look glum, feeling guilty.
"I’m sorry if I’m a greedy person. I don’t know why I feel so hungry," Rachel whimpered, stopping eating.
Aiden sharpened his eyes, knitting his brows and glaring angrily at the servants. They looked clumsy and went back to work, who knew what they were doing.
He reached forward, took the chicken and ate it too, startling Rachel.
"Master Aiden?"
"I’m hungry, can you help me eat this?" asked Aiden.
The cheerful smile that had been missing returned to Rachel’s face. The girl nodded happily, she would help Aiden eat the chicken.
Again, anything that entered Aiden’s body tasted bland and uncomfortable. That was why he hated eating when he arrived in this world.
’If it wasn’t for my purpose to go home, I’d probably lose my mind from not being able to taste anything on my tongue,’ Aiden said.
They finished the chicken together, mostly by Rachel because Aiden stopped eating as soon as he got sick of the bland taste.
Unexpectedly, that was Rachel’s last portion of chicken, the girl claiming to be full after eating four portions of roast chicken.
"Thank goodness."
Aiden turned to look at the clock on the wall. There, he clearly saw that it was 9pm, time for them to rest.
"You should go to your room to rest," Aiden pleaded.
"But what about Aurora and the others?" Rachel asked.
"They’ll be home soon."
Rachel nodded. She stepped up to the second floor and was escorted by a servant to her room. Now, Aiden was alone in the dining room, still wondering at the significant change in Rachel’s demeanor.
The door to the house opened, and to his surprise, he saw Aurora and the others returning home drunk, stoned. Aiden hurried over to them, only Amber and Aurora were drunk, Joe was not.
"What happened?" asked Aiden.
"She had a drinking match with each other," Joe replied.
Aiden sighed as he patted his forehead, feeling confused by them. Even so, they seemed to be enjoying the moment thoroughly. It was a good thing to build chemistry.
"And you? Why aren’t you drinking?" Aiden asked.
"I do. It’s just that those cheap drinks won’t get me drunk," Joe replied.
’It seems that the Dragonkin race’s bloodline has a stronger physical endurance to be free from the influence of alcohol,’ said Aiden.
"Alright. You take them to their rooms. I’ll make something for them," Aiden explained.
"What do you want to make?" asked Joe.
"A hangover drink."

The next day.
The backyard of the Safe House.
Rachel and Aiden fought each other, not because they were arguing, but because they were practicing. That’s right! Rachel’s sword skills were still lacking when compared to Aurora and Amber.
Aiden invited her to practice so that she could hone her sword skills. Rachel responded well, she carried out all of Aiden’s suggestions.
"Move fast and don’t open any gaps. That’s what you have to do," Aiden said.
"Okay! I’ll give it a try."
CLING!
The sound of metal clashing rang through the house, waking Aurora and Amber who were sound asleep from last night’s drunk.
Their heads feeling so dizzy after waking up, she turned her head and saw that there was a herbal medicine-like drink on the nightstand, with a piece of paper covering the top of the glass.
"Hangover drink?" asked Amber.
Aurora, without thinking, downed the drink immediately. It was a little bitter, but it was effective in relieving the pain in her head.
She reflexively turned her head to the side when she heard the sound of metal clashing. Out of curiosity, Aurora opened the window and saw Aiden and Rachel practicing.
"What are you doing?" Aurora asked.
Aiden and Rachel jumped back a little distance, then turned around and saw Aurora was already awake. Rachel waved a hand to greet her, and Aiden explained to her.
"We’re practicing. Do you want to join us?" asked Aiden.
"I’m tired. I’ll rest first."
Aiden nodded. His head snapped forward, looking intently at Rachel, "Let’s get on with the training, Rachel."
"Attack me with everything you’ve got, Aiden!"
