Before Yimin was able to finish the sentence that synced together with her bottomless stomach, an enraged bellow broke through the thick barrier of sound. Zaraphina conjured millions of spears of demonic light, having them rapidly spin above her mildly charred head.

"I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!!!" she screamed as she phased forward, bringing along with her millions of demonic light spears.

"Ahh, yes," said Cassius, not a single bit bothered about the sea of demonic spears blitzing toward him. "I usually kill you before you can get off this attack, but seeing how pitiful you are with your emotions, I suppose I subconsciously figured you required a handicap."

With her mind gone, Zaraphina heard not a word he said. But when all her spears were whisked away with a flawless sequence of scythe slashes—and when a hand tightly clasped her throat—she most certainly felt what he was trying to tell her.

"FUCK…!!!" Clawing away at Cassius's hands, she attempted to pull him off, but that was when she realized that he had cut off all flow of her Godforce. "Ho… How…!?"

Gradually, her immeasurable anger was replaced by shock that had her face paling. Taking another look at the man who stole her woman away from her, she glimpsed something that she hadn't previously seen.

Deep within his swirling blue and red eyes was an abyss. One so infinitely dark and limitless that she felt herself get sucked in, with no hope of ever escaping.

Yet, before such a scenario could happen, Cassius spoke up, saying, "I'll only spare you this one time, girl. I suggest you go your own way and choose a better hobby."

Letting go of her, a bit of derision emerged from his expression as he found the act of killing her to be an eventual stain to his hands. So instead of ending her life, he decided it to be more worthwhile for her to report back to her Father and attract his attention.

'Great Demon King Astaroth is the weakest among the 3 Great Demon Kings, but he's also the most crafty and mysterious among them,' Cassius thought. 'I need to see if he has any openings I can take advantage of. Killing this foolish girl would indeed allot me quite the sum of Loot, but in the long-run, it's just not the best option.'

"He… He really did it…" Exisia mumbled in disbelief, her eyes focused on the defeated, downcast expression that the Demon Prodigy was making. "This man… Just who really is he…?"

The more time she spent around him, the more confused she became. Because how on earth could a genius like him possibly pass under the radar for so long?? And without anyone knowing a single thing about him???

Little did she know that just about everyone in the Ascension Tower knew of the Title attached to his name. They just weren't aware of his new identity as part-Angel.

Disappearing into the distance, Cassius and the gang started making their ascent back to the surface. However, before they could get very far, Zaraphina suddenly called out:

"P-Please, wait…!" she seemed to struggle getting out those words as she chased behind the Immortal-like man.

"Hum?"

A scarlet blush formed on Zaraphina's smooth, porcelain cheeks as she slightly averted her gaze. Her ferociousness and anger from just a moment ago seemed to be nowhere in sight, replaced with an uncharacteristic bashfulness.

'...That look in her eyes,' Maxy's eyes narrowed into slits, her claws ready to taste Demon blood. 'I have a very bad feeling about this.'

Yimin bared her fangs, growling at the sheepish Zaraphina. "Go away, da b*tch! Yimins will eat you alive…!!"

Normally, Zaraphina would be pleased to hear words like that leave the mouth of a pretty woman like Yimin, but today was different. She only momentarily glanced at her before shifting toward Cassius. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"I… I…" she stuttered, her eyes nervously spiraling. "I-I need you to marry me…!"

Silence…

What in the motherf*cking Deja Vu!?

What the hell was this horsesh*t!??

Cassius had so much profanity he wanted to spit out. But between the unprecedented cutesiness of the Demon chick and the visible murderous intent of Yimin and Maxy, his mouth lagged, seemingly stuck in time.

Hurriedly explaining herself, Zaraphina sputtered, "Y-You see, it's in the nature of us Demons and part of tradition to…."

She then went on to tell Cassius and the territorial dragon women how defeat in Demonkind either meant death or… marriage.

As evil beings who innately craved strength and power, they also naturally yearned for strong life-long partners. And assuming the winner was better than them in every way—Talent, Combat Ability, etc—they'd feel something within them suddenly crave the existence of the one who bested them.

For female demons, this feeling was even stronger. Furthermore, unlike male demons who could somewhat resist the pull of the opposite sex upon being defeated, female demons were rendered helpless.

Just the simple act of looking at and talking to Cassius had Zaraphina a wet-mess, having her feel something that no other woman made her feel before.

But he was a man…

A hateful, scummy man!

Yet…

'W-Why… does he look so yummy…? Especially THAT part of him…'

"???"

By the end of the lengthy and choppy explanation, Cassius found himself uncontrollably shivering under Zaraphina's intense stare. He saw where she was looking, forcing a dire thought to form:

'Another one!? Seriously…!??'

Did the Heavens above truly just like watching him suffer!?

The Idle Evolution System chuckled in the background, deriving much joy from its Host's suffering.

Eventually exhaling all his troubles, Cassius turned away from the flustered Demon Beauty. "Just… Just do whatever you want. I'm not marrying you."

Zaraphina's lovesick expression lost all its color, her heart sinking to the depths of her soul.

Yimin and Maxy, on the other hand, had a good amount of their anger subside after hearing their Master's firm rejection. A bit of pride also surfaced as they once again realized why he was the one they idolized more than the gods themselves.

"B-But wait…!"
