Chapter 44: Skillbook

The Firebull Governor and his daughter Jasmine also followed behind, clearly very interested in seeing just what the young master planned to do.

Not just that, there was another reason as well. No matter what happened to Zarek in the Firebull City, he would definitely have to face the wrath of the Silversword family.

Although Zarek was good-for-nothing, if the rumors were to be believed, he was dearly loved by the only titan of the Silversword family—that is, Zarek’s grandpa.

...

"Nine, ten... twelve."

Zarek counted. There were still more than ten dragons wreaking havoc in the Firebull City.

As the dragons were aerial creatures, it was incredibly difficult for the soldiers on the ground to take care of them.

Still, with clever strategy, the soldiers had managed to isolate all the dragons in a corner of the city where the population density was minimum.

"Excellent effort..." Zarek couldn’t stop himself from praising out loud.

At this time, Misery Prime walked over and said, "What are your orders, Master?" Clearly very eager to serve. It was becoming evident Misery Prime was a battle junkie with a love for battle.

Just then, Misery Prime did something which surprised Zarek.

Misery Prime flipped his wrist, showing a shimmering book in his hands.

Immediately, shocked exclamations came from the sidelines. "A skill book!"

Jasmine looked at the book in Misery Prime’s hand in surprise, not expecting something so precious in a monster’s hand.

Zarek was also no less shocked. It was very difficult to find skill books as monsters at first sequence rarely dropped them.

Curious, he took the skill book from Misery’s hand and immediately a window popped in front of him.

[Skill book: Collapsing Force

Description: Every strike generates a miniature shockwave equal to a percentage of the user’s Strength. The air itself becomes a weapon—each punch or swing compresses the surrounding pressure, unleashing devastation even without direct contact.

Hidden Effect: When Strength surpasses a certain threshold, attacks can shatter magic shields and terrain, bypassing defense]

"A top-tier skill!!" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Just what Misery needed to utilize his insane strength.

So without wasting any time, Zarek asked Misery to learn the skill. As soon as he got the permission, Misery happily crushed the skill book in his hand, and instantly the book turned into particles of light merging with Misery Prime’s figure.

[First Sequence Summon – Misery Prime]

[Grade: Epic]

[Infinite Origin: 802]

[Strength: 30] +

[Agility: 10.3] +

[Perception: 10.9] +

[Physique: 10.4] +

[Mana: 10.1] +

Skills: [Prey Sense Level 2]+ [Morphing Fireball Level 1]+ [Collapsing Force Level 1]+

The amount of Infinite Origin was turning massive. Now it was time to make use of it.

The limit of an epic grade creature was seventy-five, so without any hesitation, Zarek made use of Infinite Origin and pushed Misery’s strength to its limits.

Instantly, Infinite Origin fell by more than half and Misery’s strength reached the limit of epic grade. If he wanted to continue increasing the strength, Misery either had to evolve more or ascend to the second sequence.

Both of which were not possible for the time being.

Meanwhile, the Firebull Governor didn’t know what exactly Zarek did, but he just watched the armored goblin’s strength increase in real time.

"Forbidden technique!"

The Firebull Governor thought. Maybe Zarek had used some secret technique to increase the summon’s strength for a brief period to clear all the monsters.

Meanwhile, Misery Prime looked at his own hand in sheer ecstasy. He could feel pure, raw, untamed power coursing through his body. With this strength, crushing Master’s enemies would be even more easy.

"Simply miraculous..." Zerin also witnessed this miraculous scene and spoke out loud, her eyes wide as saucers. She scanned Misery Prime as if looking at a rare specimen.

This was not her first time watching the goblin suddenly skyrocket out of nowhere, yet even now she had no explanation which could make sense of the situation.

With this much strength, Misery would have few opponents in the city.

So there was no need to waste any more time.

"Kill every single monster in the city for me." Zarek ordered in an indifferent voice.

Immediately after Zarek’s order, Misery Prime didn’t linger around and led the seventy-strong Miseries to sweep through the city.

Zarek simply watched them leave. Meanwhile, Zerin walked a little closer to Zarek, her stance protective as if warning the Firebull Governor to not try anything funny.

The Firebull Governor saw this and chuckled out loud.

"How naive. If he really wanted to take action, would she even be able to stop him with her mere strength?"

Meanwhile, Zarek focused on the Miseries spread across the city. If any one of them were to fall, he was ready to summon the Miseries’ replacement instantly.

While he waited, the Miseries led by Misery Prime swept through the city like a whirlwind.

The combination of seventy-five strength and the Miseries’ newly learned skill was phenomenal. No matter which monster they encountered, it would be immediately crushed to pieces, and if it didn’t, it would later be crushed by the Miseries’ combined assault.

The Firebull Governor was also watching the Miseries rampaging through the city. Wherever they passed, that area would be entirely cleared of any monsters.

His heart couldn’t help but shake. A terrifying thought occurred in his heart.

"Young master Zarek is still at the first sequence. Once he reaches the second sequence, would the strength also increase?"

He could almost imagine a legion of summons at the second sequence charging toward the enemy. Would anyone be able to stop such an army?

The soldiers as well as the citizens both cheered in joy, slowly but surely seeing the situation was returning to normal.

Just like this, a few hours passed in the blink of an eye. The sun had started its journey downward.

In these past few hours, the Miseries had cleared the city whole, not sparing a single monster.

The only monsters left in the city were twelve dragons flying in one corner.

Now it was time to deal with them.

However, Zarek knew the Miseries’ limits. Fighting an aerial enemy was bound to be challenging for the Miseries. As such, he had other plans to deal with them.
