Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1022: Two options
As Rain continued to experiment with the dark javelin, he discovered an additional and highly practical effect. Upon striking a target and coming to a complete stop, the javelin automatically returned to his hands after just one second. This newfound ability added a layer of versatility to Rain's arsenal, making the weapon even more useful.
The group, still processing the revelations from Rain's journey through history, now found themselves in awe of the dark javelin's capabilities. The automatic return feature sparked a sense of admiration among Rain's companions, recognizing the strategic advantage it could provide in combat situations.
However, amidst the amazement, a lingering silence hung in the air. Rain, aware of the weight of the information he had shared, noticed the speechlessness that enveloped his friends and allies. The history they had just learned had left an indelible mark on their understanding of the world, and the implications of their existence weighed heavily on their minds.
Rain, sensing the unspoken questions and concerns, decided to address another aspect of their origin. He revealed that Sakaki, formerly known as Zeus, played a significant role in designing their bodies and determining the traits they would possess. The overseer, on the other hand, integrated these designed beings into the environment of the new world.
"So… are they basically our gods?" Sealyn asked. "This is kind of hard to grasp."
"They don't see us like that, they see us like people who can do what they can't do," Rain explained. "I know that the overseed wants the prosperity of the world, and he is just using whatever it is necessary for that to happen."
"It will be difficult to convince everyone that all this was indeed true…" Regis said while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Now you need to wait for the overseer… What are you going to ask him?"
"I suppose asking him anything too big will be no good since he probably didn't leave the planet during all this time," Rain said. "How about how to create dungeons? We would benefit from that… although he might not answer anything that isn't related to the situation."
Rain gathered his companions and explained the potential benefits of acquiring the knowledge on how to create dungeons. He emphasized that such knowledge could significantly accelerate their growth and empower them to face the escalating challenges that lay ahead.
"Creating dungeons would provide us with a unique opportunity to train and strengthen ourselves at an accelerated pace," Rain said. "Think about it - we can tailor these dungeons to our needs, setting up challenges and obstacles that push our limits. It's a controlled environment where we can experiment with different strategies, develop new skills, and enhance our teamwork."
He gestured towards the dark javelin in his hand, the newfound abilities of which were a testament to the benefits of adapting and evolving in the face of adversity. The weapon, for instance, had become a valuable asset because of his experimentation and practice. Imagine if they could create specialized dungeons to enhance our proficiency with our respective relics and powers.
That was something that all of them could see the endless potential…
"I am going to sleep now… I really need to give my brain some well deserved rest," Rain said while yawning. "We will leave when I wake up, if you guys are all ready to do so."
Everyone nodded, they were already ready to leave, but Rain deserved that much of a rest. At the same time, they couldn't help but wonder how he kept the relics invisible even while he was sleeping.
"Hey, you found him a lot sooner than I predicted," The overseer said.
Rain looked around and frowned… he was seeing the overseer on a white space that looked like a domain, but he was supposed to be sleeping… to think that he could do that too, the combo overseer and Sakaki truly knew some interesting tricks.
"I had some help," Rain said. "Anyway, I take it that you are here for the deal, so I am not going to waste time asking why you pretend that you didn't know where he was."
"Thank you for your understanding," The overseer said. "In any case, I can't tell you what I am yet, so I assume you want to learn how to create a dungeon. As a bonus, I can tell you why I made those appear in the territories."
"It was to make people get stronger faster and avoid fighting each other at that time, right?" Rain asked.
"You are half correct, I wanted to avoid letting you all kill each other, the many wars had taken a heavy toll already," The overseer said. "Still, I was hoping that making all sides become tougher would let you guys keep fighting without taking too many lives. Still, I didn't expedition that most of the dragons would mobilize and start the war and that the dragon god would make such a move."
"You are around for longer than him, so why does he still feel stronger than you?" Rain asked.

"My goal is not to become the strongest, his goal is," The overseer said. "He already understood a lot of things thanks to the knowledge passed down between the dragon gods and he is preparing for a war in a much larger scale."
Rain's eyes narrowed as he processed the overseer's words. The revelation that the dragon god aimed to become the strongest and was preparing for a war on a much larger scale sent shivers down his spine. The thought of a being, already possessing planet-destroying powers, striving for even greater strength was akin to a small-sized death star looming over the worlds.
"That's… quite unsettling," Rain thought, his expression reflecting the gravity of the situation. "I mean, the dragon god already has powers that could wipe out entire planets. The idea that he's cultivating his strength further, possibly without others realizing, is almost insane. It's like dealing with a ticking time bomb on a cosmic scale."
