Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1066: It is mine
After one month the group began to move, they finally saw some things happening on their next destination. They saw thousands of containers flying toward their Eastern side… they were a bit different from the ones that made the mana cargo escape the mettalic base with most parts of the cannon, so their contents should be different.
"If they aren't sending the mana that they collected, what are they sending them?" Esmeralda asked.

"It is hard to say," Rain said. "All that I can guess is that they are using mana as a source fuel in that world to do something else. What do you think, Sakaki?"
"Cold planets, such as ice giants like Uranus and Neptune, do not have solid surfaces composed of minerals in the same way rocky planets like Earth, Mars, or Mercury do. The term "ice giants" is used because a significant portion of these planets is made up of volatile compounds in frozen or icy forms, rather than solid rock.
The outer layers of these planets consist of a mixture of gases, ices, and liquids." Sakaki explained. "While there might be trace amounts of heavy elements and compounds in the atmospheres of ice giants, they are not arranged in layers of solid minerals as seen on rocky planets.
The extreme temperatures and pressures in the atmospheres of ice giants create conditions that are quite different from those found on rocky planets. All in all, that planet doens't seem like an ice giant, so I think that they are mining for something there. Probably a material unknown to us."
Rain wished that Sakaki could have said that from the beginning instead of showing off his knowledge like usual. In any case, they couldn't be sure yet, but mining in such harsh conditions would mean that they would need more machines. At the same time, moving that many resources now meant that they wanted to avoid losing them… they were preparing for a battle.
"It seems that while we haven't been found, the enemies know that we are coming," Esmeralda said. "If they are doing this much to deal with us, they might also ask for reinforcements. We will have to keep an eye on the cargo that left that planet as well. Can we do that?"
"We can, if I start working on another telescope," Rain said. "It should take only a few days."
Rain knew that such a thing would eventually happen… they would have to monitor several things at the same time. They will have to keep trustworthy people to work with Terra and Seara as well… Liss and Asche voluntered for the job.
In the midst of juggling responsibilities and adapting to the challenges of adult life, Rain experienced a change in his perspective. Acknowledging that he couldn't be the sole focus in the lives of his sisters and children, Rain began to recognize that he had also distanced himself from his parents and grandparents involuntarily.
The demands of their respective roles and duties kept the family members occupied, making it challenging to find moments for interactions beyond their usual strategic meetings. Rain knew that Roan and Leiah were deeply busy in training sessions with other factions, honing their skills and contributing to the collective strength.
Similarly, Luana and Meiro assumed crucial roles within Esmeralda's faction, involving themselves in high-level organizational tasks.
The complexities of adult life had woven a tapestry of responsibilities around each family member, leaving little room for the luxuries of a social life. Despite the familial bond, the practicalities of their daily lives had made it difficult to maintain regular connections beyond the necessary business of strategy and planning.
Rain reflected on the challenges that adulthood brought, recognizing the sacrifices everyone was making in the pursuit of their respective goals and responsibilities.
"There is only one solution for this: Magic!" Rain thought. "I am going to learn Telepathy and keep contact with everyone as much as possible."
"I am sure their productivity won't suffer a hit when you try to talk with them every single hour of the day," Larisa said.
"Sarcasm isn't your forte, Larisa," Rain said. "It is mine, and it belongs to a son of Sparda."
"Is that your Dad's second name?" Larisa asked. "Anyway, why are you always so eager to be with them all the time? This is normal, you know. Parents can't be part of their children's lives all the time once they grow. Come to think of it, you know about our lives, but we don't know about your older life."
"And you never will," Rain said.
Although Rain said that, he recognized the truth in Larisa's words. He hated when people attacked him cowardly with logic, only him was supposed to have that right… In any case, Rain couldn't help but think that he truly had to become a fighting freak. When he wasn't fighting, he couldn't help bu dwell on those things… being introspective was starting to become a pain in the ass.
"Who could have thought?" Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I guess this is the downside of trying not to be a workaholic. You win some and you lose some."
Everyone was working with the common goal of the survival of the species, so perhaps Rain was supposed to feel happy about that. Even while not seeing each other everyday and living their lives like before, they still had their bonds, and perhaps one day, they will have their peaceful lives back and they will be able to live like before. Only the future can tell…
In the end, the next month passed in the blink of an eye and the Star vessel eventually reached their destination. During that time, nothing else happened on the destination and at the same time, the cargo that left that planet had yet to reach any destination and at that point in time, everyone was starting to think that it was only a diversion.
"We are ready to start the second mission," Esmeralda declared. "The investigation team can deploy."
