Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1074: Worries
Rain wanted to say that such a thing wouldn't be enough… but he didn't want to drop the morale of the groups even more. The best option was probably to split the enemies in two and throw away the halves from each other… that should do the trick, but they didn't have the right weapons for that.
Still, before Rain could think of how he could solve that situation, the enemies bombarded them with an insane barrage of ice spears being fired at them… The warriors pointed their hands around and then used the fire gloves to deal with the attacks, creating a shield of flames around them and stopping the attacks for good… despite the massive number of projectiles and impressive power of their defense, it was still only a matter of time before the tide of the battle turned.
All of a sudden, massive ice spears emerged from the ground and them pierced a bunch of the monsters on the ground. Those were sharp like swords, so it seemed that Sealyn realized the same thing as Rain, that was the only way to truly deal with the monsters.
"Use the hole in their formation!" Sealyn shouted.
The moment Sealyn shouted her command, a collective nod crossed through the group. Determination etched on their faces, they moved as one, charging forward while unleashing flames from their gloves. The air crackled with the heat of their attacks as they skillfully protected themselves with the swirling barrier of fire.
Yet, as the group engaged in combat, Rain couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. Turning his attention to the fallen monsters that Sealyn had just killed, he discovered the source of the unsettling sensation. Despite being pierced in half, the bodies were still trembling, a sign that they were on the verge of revival.
Stopping his own attacks, Rain analyzed the fallen monsters more closely. It didn't take long for him to identify the peculiar anomaly—two fake organs nestled within the monsters' bodies. Unlike the dark metal bones of the dragons, these organs pulsated with an unnatural power, pushing the severed halves of the creatures back together.
In that instant, Rain realized that the monsters had anticipated their strategy to sever the bodies and had prepared a countermeasure. The fake organs served as a failsafe mechanism, allowing the creatures to regenerate even after being split in half. Without hesitation, Rain burned and shocked those organs.

"I knew it…" Rain said. "These fake organs are relics like the ring that revived me… they work a lot faster, though."
"Hmm, I see… that explains why you are gaining less experience killing them the usual way," Sakaki said. "You killed a part of them, not the whole. These creatures were probably crafted to be exactly like that."
"Bioengineering, huh?" Rain said.
"There is another problem," Sakaki said. "The organs only looked like that because the flow of their mana was cut off for a moment. While the creature is alive, finding those organs will be difficult. Essentially to kill them, you will have to damage all of them. Without doing that, you will have to do the same job six times."
The beasts had five fake organs, so that made sense… Still, before Rain could think about that, he suddenly felt some danger… some parts of the wall of flames were weakening, and some people were running out of mana and needed time to use potions. Thanks to that, the ice spears crossed the walls of flames.
In the next moment, the sound of metal colliding and ice shattering echoed in the area… when they turned around, they saw the shards falling around Rain. His forearm guards acted as they were supposed to. The spears kept coming, but Rain blocked them and appeared on the places they were supposed to land.
"Stand you ground!" Sealyn shouted while dashing toward them.
She hadn't recovered enough mana, so that was probably a bad move… even though the second team should arrive at any moment. In the end, Terra and Seara looked at each other and then nodded… they stopped their attacks and then forced the activation of the seals.
Sealyn's body and aura underwent another powerful transformation. The air around her vibrated with an intense surge of mana, creating a palpable aura that radiated power. Her body began to glow, filled with vitality as if drawing upon an unseen wellspring of energy. The transformation was swift and awe-inspiring, marking a moment where the true extent of her abilities was shown.
The overwhelming energy made her almost sigh in relief for a brief moment, grateful for the support of her mothers. Despite not being in the sea, Sealyn moved through the air like a supersonic flying object. To the onlookers, it seemed as if she was teleporting around the battlefield, akin to Rain when utilizing his swift movement technique.
In a dazzling display of speed and precision, Sealyn darted across the area. Monsters that once posed a threat now rained down on the ground as if pulled by an invisible force. Sealyn's enhanced abilities allowed her to effortlessly navigate the battlefield, leaving trails of defeated monsters in her wake.
The monsters, caught off guard by Sealyn's sudden acceleration, struggled to react to her swift movements. Before they could adjust, the second team crossed the clouds and arrived on the battlefield, their presence adding a new layer to the unfolding chaos and surprise to the monsters.
The reinforcements injected fresh energy into the group, bolstering their resolve as they prepared to face the relentless onslaught of monsters.
Before long, fire and lightning bolts began to rain down on the battlefield, and the monsters began to be killed left and right on two fronts… the plan was working, but Rain couldn't help but think that things were going too well…
