Rain didn't hesitate in breaking his own code of conduct… he didn't want to use the power of the sins, but that guy asked for it when he threatened his family and looked at his kids with that murderous gaze.
Still, all the combination of those skills only lifted the enemy for ten meters. It only moved his head upward a bit… the enemy looked at Rain with those dead-looking eyes, and he could tell that he had become a real target to him.
In the next moment, the enemy suddenly appeared, already swinging his Warhammer from the side, but Rain was doing the same. The collision of the metals echoed in the area and the sound made everyone flinch as they felt that their heads were about to split… the impact pushed all the snow away to the distance and the flying monsters had a hard time keeping their position.
Unfortunately, Rain still lost the exchange… he was pushed backward and spun in the air dozens of times before he could stop. The difference in power was still clear, Rain couldn't count on his anger to make up the difference alone.
"Urggghhh…." Rain groaned in anger.
"Rain…" Larisa said.
"Don't take his focus… he doesn't have time for that," Sakaki said.
It had been a while, but the dark shadow was covering his body once more… while Nigel had been purified, Vanessa's scepter and Sakaki's javelin were still made of the same dark metal that made the bones of the dragons. Their hatred was being passed to Rain… and while it was weaker since the enemy wasn't a dragon, it was empowering him as well.
The skill Vicious Aura leveled up.
The skill Wrathful Onslaught leveled up.
The skill Searing Fury leveled up.
…
"I guess it is a good thing that Elisabetha isn't here…" Larisa said. "Anyway, what are you planning with this?"
"Relax, he won't be taken by our rage. He isn't facing a dragon," Sakaki said. "Besides, he is a bit mentally stronger than he was before. Just look."
The enemy charged again and launched a quick sequence of strikes… this time, even though his hammer was smaller, Rain blocked each of the attacks without being pushed back. The sound of the impacts started to make fissures appear on the ground, and the battlefield almost went silent since even the monsters had a hard time enduring the sound of impacts.
Everyone was surprised to see Rain suddenly being able to trade blows with that monstrosity. Still, eventually, they found the reason for that… the shadows had moved to his arms, and they had thickened as well… they were reinforcing him to avoid the damage of the blows.
That being said, his shoulders were changing colors and getting swollen… the shadows of hate could only protect him so much. All of a sudden, the enemy changed the direction of his blow from a sideways to a diagonal attack… while Rain blocked the attack, his posture broke, and then he got kicked in the stomach…
After coughing a mouthful of blood, Rain stopped moving in the air and then looked at the enemy, who was studying him more seriously. It looked like he was planning to change his tactics since Rain was more troublesome than expected… while the enemy was considering what he could do, Rain made his choice. He made the hammer disappear and then assumed his usual fighting stance.
The tall enemy squinted his eyes, but then Rain suddenly disappeared.
All of a sudden, the enemy moved his hammer to his side and then blocked a punch on his face… he barely had the time to see Rain's silhouette. Still, he had been fast enough to sense the attack and react to it.
In the next moment, another attack from the opposite direction, but the enemy blocked it again with his Warhammer. The same thing repeated itself several times… until the enemy suddenly moved his head, and a scratch appeared on it… the claws on Rain's forearm guards caused that.
While the enemy was feeling the blood gush from the wound on his face, he realized that Rain still could speed up, so it was time to take things a bit more seriously. In the next moment, the enemy raised his hammer, and then the aura of the surroundings changed.
The monsters that were being relentlessly attacked began to tremble inexplicably, and an eerie combination of mana and dark miasma emanated from their bodies. This strange energy started to converge and move toward the colossal figure's hammer.
Simultaneously, a bone-chilling cold began to gather around the enemy, extending its influence across the snowy terrain. The air itself seemed to freeze as the frigid atmosphere intensified, making movement difficult even amidst the raging battle.
Rain, caught in the grip of both the enemy's relentless assault and the encroaching cold, was forced to momentarily halt his movements and grab his hammer…
In the midst of this phenomenon, the colossal figure's Warhammer pulsed with ominous power. The dark energy and mana absorbed from the monsters and even the fallen ones infused the weapon, causing it to radiate an unsettling dark crystal blue glow. The enemy's armor, too, underwent a transformation, taking on the same crystalline hue as the hammer.
It was a manifestation of the power absorbed from the surroundings, a formidable enhancement that raised the stakes of the battle…
