Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 929 : More incoming
"Is the layer expanding again?" Rain thought while he was protecting his head with his arms.
"Something landed on this planet… a lot of things, and they are quite powerful," The woman in the darkness said. "These presences are… reinforcements for the dragons."
Rain opened his eyes widely when he heard that… it was something pretty bad. They just won an important battle against the dragons. Why did they have reinforcements? In any case, if it weren't for his domain, Rain would be flying to the other side of the world thanks to the blast, but he was feeling the full power of the snowstorm now.

In the end, Rain was forced to hide underground because the blast lasted for several minutes… if dragons had truly arrived, they probably got very hurt with that landing, but by the time Rain finds them, they would have recovered.
"In the end, it seems that the dragons truly came from space, and they returned there after conquering our world," Larisa said while scratching her forehead. "Nothing makes any sense anymore.
Before rushing into any hasty decisions, Rain recognized the importance of remaining composed and collecting his thoughts amidst the chaotic circumstances. The sudden revelation of reinforcements for the ice dragons had left him reeling, prompting him to take a step back and reevaluate the situation with a calm and rational mindset.
Reflecting on the memories he got from Nigel and Larisa, Rain recalled the ancient origins of the dragons. According to those memories, the first dragons were colossal creatures devoid of any discernible motives or reasons for their actions. However, there were intriguing similarities between these ancient beasts and the other creatures inhabiting the world at that time.
This led Rain to hypothesize that some form of virus or organic entity might have infected the creatures in the distant past, instigating a transformation in certain individuals and giving rise to the powerful beings known as dragons. The idea that this transformation might have occurred in only a select few creatures, altering them into immensely powerful and enigmatic entities, intrigued Rain.
Understanding that those who utilized the system could evolve and adapt, Rain assumed that the dragons might have undergone a similar evolutionary process.
While the majority of the creatures returned to their original state or perished due to the changes brought by the infection, only a small fraction of them might have undergone the evolution that resulted in the birth of the dragons as they were known in the present-day.
"Still, it looks like a lot of them left the planet…" Larisa added. "I might also say that the dust storms might also have been caused by the first dragons that could use earth magic… this hypothesis seems valid, even though I can only confirm it once I recover my memories."
"Hahaha, it seems that you have a lot of work to do. It will be fun to watch you agonize," Iori said.
"I am not sure if it will be as nearly as fun as being my prisoner, without knowing what I have in mind for you," Rain furrowed his eyebrows.
Once Rain left the underground, he considered using the tunnels that he made on his first exploration of the dragons territory. However, he refrained from that when he noticed that the snowstorm was showing any signs of letting up… the ice dragons received reinforcements. Still, they weren't messing around anymore… they would use everything in their power to crush their enemies.
Their most obvious target would be the demi-humans and the sea folk… Rain probably didn't have to warn them since the snowstorm, and that impact should have reached them, and that would have put them on high alert… that being said, Rain couldn't do his investigative work and ignore everything else.
"Well, what now?" Rain thought.
"It seems that your worst-case scenario is fast approaching," The woman in the darkness said.
Rain clicked his tongue in annoyance… she had a point. Even though it was vexing, Rain might be forced to use the sword a lot sooner than he had expected. At that point in time, it was hard to tell if the dragon god wasn't aware or not of the situation… wouldn't that guy be the only person who would send reinforcements?
"He must know exactly what happened fifty thousand years ago… all of the dragon gods passed that history down," Rain thought. "Still, if that is true… it makes me think that the current dragons and the first dragons aren't much allies…."
In the midst of escalating confusion and uncertainty surrounding the sudden arrival of reinforcements for the ice dragons, Rain found some peace in at least one fact: the dragons were feeling threatened. This realization presented an opportunity for Rain to potentially exploit their vulnerability in some way.
To gather more information and assess the situation, Rain decided to shift his vantage point to the sky. However, he encountered challenges due to the persistent snowstorm hindering his vision. Ignoring the adverse weather conditions, Rain attempted to utilize the Water Lens technique, leveraging his skills to gain insight into the happenings within the dragons' territory.
Despite the snowstorm's obstruction posing difficulties, Rain persisted in his attempts to observe and understand the events unfolding in the dragons' domain. After adjusting his field of vision for a while, Rain was finally able to see the ancient city of the golem dragons, and much to his surprise, the whole thing had been destroyed… there was a huge crater on it…
"It seems that the dragons didn't mind their landing…" Rain furrowed his eyebrows.
"Are you sure that they are reinforcements?" Larisa asked. "Why would they destroy the bases of those that they came to help?"
The woman in the darkness didn't say anything… probably because she also didn't know what was going on. In any case, Rain had to investigate things a bit more. So, he decided to use the technique for a while longer in order to find what destroyed the ancient city…
