The first level of the newly created pagoda was quite expansive. In Li Ling’s spiritual body’s perception, it was about as large as an entire world, enough to hold its own truths within.

When he stepped into the first level, it was as if he triggered something as the empty space within began rumbling.

Immediately, Li Ling’s smile disappeared as his face became pale, because his spirit sense was sucked into the first level, along with his memories and essence from his entire Sea of Consciousness.

This was intense and uncontrollable. Though Li Ling felt he could forcibly halt it, his sense told him that this was far more beneficial than harmful for him, so he held back.

Immediately, the first floor of the new pagoda filled up and indeed became a world, a very small world that displayed things that left Li Ling shocked.

In a manner akin to walking through a holographic museum, Li Ling walked to what he felt was the ’beginning’ of this floor, which showed him the image of himself seated cross-legged at the age of twelve, breaking through to the first level of Qi Refinement with much difficulty.

After that, he walked along, seeing loopable scenes of himself being kicked out of the clan, roaming the world for three years, then settling down to hide like a rat in the Number 9 marketplace for five years.

Then came the day of awakening and his stark change. Li Ling watched in real time from a third-person point of view the scene of his transformation from a tense, fearful coward to an unhinged killer in mere seconds.

Then his slaughter of the farm, his first upgrade under the system, his foray into the encampment, Dong Bo and Manager Fang, Qiu Yaoli and Cai Dong, his escape, the chase throughout the region, entering Boundless Joy Sect’s Hewu Province, the Number 5 Joyous Market, slaughtering those slaves and reselling them, then meeting that strange old man who sold him the Blessed Augury.

After that was his breakthrough to Foundation Establishment, and the scenes ended there. Not only did the scenes end, but it seemed the construction of this world, and its range, came to an end here too.

Li Ling looped back to the center of this realm, which had a meditative cushion placed there, on which a version of him sat that mostly resembled himself during his transition from coward to killer.

Standing before this image, Li Ling understood the nature of the newly upgraded pagoda and what it had done.

The Nine Heights Pagoda was a method that had nine levels, the first three for Qi Refinement, the second three for Foundation Establishment, and the final three for Core Formation.

Now, the new pagoda held the same nine tiers, but each level was dedicated to one of the nine mortal realms of qi cultivation, from Qi Refinement to Ascension. Not only did each floor contain the spirit sense power of each realm, it also harbored his memories pertaining to his practice during that realm, his thoughts and his essence, forming a central Dharma image that sat on the cushion and consolidated the mental power of that realm.

Because of this, the spirit sense borne was akin to Dharma Sense but purer and more powerful, in the sense that it contained the direct ’essence’ and ’marking’ of Li Ling. The strength of the newly borne spirit sense did not have to do with his realm or even his practice of the new pagoda art, but rather the depth of his thoughts, experiences, and memories during that stage of cultivation.

However, it still fundamentally used his existing spirit sense as the fuel to draw up the foundation of each world, so his Dharma Sense, the loose one that now reached 5,558 meters at Core Formation Perfection, had shrunk by 1% in order to complete the first level of the new pagoda.

Pensive, Li Ling floated upward, allowing his mental spirit body to ascend to the second floor, which was as empty as the first had been. Like before, though, the moment he appeared within, the space trembled and shook as torrents of memories, spirit sense, and his essence flowed into it, rapidly constructing the layout of this floor.

He waited patiently until the construction was done, noting that this one consumed 10% of his remaining Dharma Sense, and the first scene started from him being cross-legged in the Joyous Number 5 pavilion to unleashing his first then second meteor on the market, the escape and eventual capture by Bai Ruyi and Wen Caiyi, the Heavenly Oath he made, arriving at the City of Joy, killing Lin Yue, escaping to the Holy City, being suppressed by Hall Master Tang Huo, heading to the Five Elements Sect outpost, enslaving Luo Roumei and killing all her friends, meeting Fatty Pang Wen, the upgrade of his Daoist Arts, meeting Jian Chen the hero, annihilating the Fire Heart and other sects, enslaving Kong Beiwu and unleashing purgatory upon the land, coming back to buy the Nine Heights Pagoda and Tai Xu Mysterious Method, fighting Bai Yegui, commissioning the Asura Reaper spear, meeting Cao Xian, conflict with the hall masters, the wager, meeting Shen Ziyan...

There was so much contained within his period of Foundation Establishment that when he walked to the end, it was him in the Boundless Holy Sect’s outpost breaking through to Core Formation where it ended. Because of this, when Li Ling returned to the center where the meditative cushion sat, there was an image of him glancing back at himself with a smile of playful amusement concealing endless malevolence.

Indeed, that was his most unhinged era, so displaying such a crazed fellow was not outrageous, Li Ling thought with twitching lips.

He then ascended to the third floor, meant for Core Formation, and the construction began again. This time, all of his loose Dharma Sense was sucked in to form the foundation of the world, and the loopable images showed his recent breakthrough, his battle against the heavenly tribulation, subduing Shen Ziyan, leaving the outpost with Gu Yin making hints to take him under her wing, coming back to the Holy City to see the faux banquet, defeating Deng Long with his Rule of Mountainous Earth, and seeding Bai Ruyi.

The memories ended here as he was still within his Core Formation period, leaving more than 90% of the space empty for new memories and infusions. When he went to the center of the realm, there was a virtual image of him that looked like a translucent phantom, which was himself with a casual smile of calm malice, no longer as unhinged as before but nowhere near ’indifferent’ or ’neither servile nor overbearing’.

He was very much still overbearing and evil, that was for sure.

Li Ling closed his eyes and felt his current Dharma Sense integrate and strengthen, becoming ten times as potent as his previous refined Dharma Sense under the Nine Heights Pagoda. This current Dharma Sense was almost a visible, physical, and tangible force, with enough telekinetic strength to rival the famous Starkiller.

There were no giant Star Destroyers hovering over Firmament Heaven for him to pull down, but Li Ling knew that if he fully exerted himself, he might be able to replicate the feat as he was.

And this was just with only 10% of the third floor of the pagoda filled!

What would happen when he reached the fourth realm?

Initially, Li Ling planned to rush his qi cultivation for battle strength and then raise his body cultivation rather moderately, as that was what the sect cared about and calculated. By now, he would need to moderate his qi cultivation growth and would rather speed up his body cultivation growth for more power and relevance within the sect.

His mental spirit body exited the new pagoda and looked at the humongous tower that pierced into the very ’heavens’ of his Sea of Consciousness space like a limitless fixture. Immediately, a name for this new art formed in his heart that took hold deeply.

The Nine Heavens Pagoda!

Satisfied, Li Ling returned to reality and breathed out, noting that after all this, only about a month and a half was left until the tournament began and he had virtually gone through all his Daoist Arts. All that was left were his non-Daoist Arts, which had been around for a while, and feeling that there was still time, he decided to limit break them to see what was going on.

Before that, he viewed his newly upgraded panel with pride.
