Li Ling casually pulled his hand from Bai Ruyi’s grip, causing the young woman to be startled and turn to face him. What she saw left her speechless, for Li Ling was not at all impatient nor in a hurry as she was, seeming rather bored.

"Don’t ever do that again," he warned simply, glancing around to see that the Asura Blood Hall was quite empty, as most of the disciples should have gone to the tournament grounds.

It was then that he also heard the ping from his token, which was quite urgent, but he ignored it as well. Meanwhile, Bai Ruyi didn’t care about his warning, but was deeply puzzled by his lax behavior.

"Aren’t you the one who wanted to participate in the tournament so badly? Why are you suddenly dragging your feet? Don’t you know they are chanting for your disqualification over there?" she asked with pursed lips.

Li Ling seemed nonchalant. "They have no choice but to wait. Now come over here and let me see my child for myself."

Bai Ruyi hesitated, seemingly guarding the infant in her bosom from Li Ling, which made Li Ling raise his eyebrows. With a cold smile, he raised a hand toward Bai Ruyi and began summoning the Li Fire Golden Sun, but kept it at a small size that grew very slowly.

"Either you show me my child or you disappear from the face of Firmament Heaven along with it," Li Ling said coldly, sincerity in every syllable of his words.

Bai Ruyi was deeply chilled by this, and the sense of security she had developed due to the birth of their child, even pulling Li Ling’s hand earlier, completely disappeared. It was not known if Li Ling was truly capable of filicide, but Bai Ruyi understood that if she ever did not comply with his rules, she would certainly be killed off regardless of who was in the picture with her.

As such, her demeanor changed as she mustered a gentle smile and brought the child wholly into Li Ling’s arms, who held the bundle surprisingly carefully as he inspected the infant using his Dao Seeking Eyes.

"Oh, a girl, huh? I didn’t specify the gender, so that’s interesting. Hmm, yes, she inherited the Void Touched Physique and... what’s this?" Li Ling muttered aloud.

His face changed from paternal interest to deep shock as his eyes pierced deeper and saw that apart from the five elements top-grade roots he gave her, the child had also developed unique mutated yin-yang roots atop the five elements ones that were slowly growing, and would develop fully when she reached the age of twelve and could start cultivating.

Li Ling marveled at this phenomenon, not understanding how the Dao worked at all. He had perfectly coded the child’s genetics, but those nine months in the womb outside of his control gave birth to unique factors at play, which were also due to Bai Ruyi’s special nature.

This meant that no matter how far he got with the Yin Yang Reversal Art and how much he coded the child from his side, the quality of the child’s mother would also play a role in how these traits were developed and whether they could even evolve beyond what he set down.

This reinforced Li Ling’s idea that he must only take in special women with elite genetics; otherwise, with how things went this time, copulating with an average woman would rather see the child lose some of the coded traits he passed down.

"Have you chosen a name for her?" Li Ling asked, glancing at his sleeping daughter, who was not disturbed by any of the movements around her at all.

Bai Ruyi shook her head with a gentle smile. "How can I, when her father hadn’t seen her yet? What do you have in mind, dear husband?"

Li Ling glanced at the child and her soft, adorable features, which were inherited from both parents, and smiled. "She is our first child, so her name will take from both of ours, becoming Li Lingyi!"

Saying this, Li Ling gently handed the child over to her mother and glanced in the direction of the tournament grounds, while Bai Ruyi kept muttering the name with her eyes beginning to shine brightly.

"You said some people were calling for me to be disqualified? Can you identify them if you see them again?" Li Ling asked suddenly, snapping Bai Ruyi out of her trance. She nodded to show that she indeed could.

Li Ling smiled softly, opening a portal in front of the duo that led to the grounds. "Then, my dear wife, let us go and greet the Six Paths Demon Sect."

Bai Ruyi followed after Li Ling with a curious expression as he entered the portal, showing an expression of shock when she found that they were now in the tournament grounds, precisely in the center of the stage with all the competitors standing behind them.

No matter how shocked she was, though, she couldn’t match the people in the stadium who were utterly dumbfounded. One moment the place was deathly silent because of the Sect Master’s cruel words, and the next, a portal opened in which the person everyone was waiting for came through along with a woman and an infant.

Li Ling looked around slowly, taking in the sights with a slight smile on his face before breathing out softly. Then he cupped his fists and spoke in a genial tone.

"Path Ascender Li Ling greets the esteemed Sect Master, elders of the sect, and visitors from the Seven Sins Demon Sect!"

Those he spoke to responded enthusiastically, their voices audible to everyone in the entire tournament grounds.

"No need for formalities, haha!"

"What a talent, such demeanor, such grace!"

"Hahaha, our sect is truly blessed to have another prodigy of this tier!"

"Good! With such a nature, how can he not succeed?"

Hearing such sycophantic words from their elders, who usually gave them stern expressions and berated them with harsh words for not being good enough, those normal disciples felt their hearts being squeezed in their chests, furious and unhappy but unable to vent it out.

Li Ling smiled and glanced at Bai Ruyi. "I heard there were some of my peers who wished to disqualify me for my lateness?"

The faces of the many competitors, which had already become grim and uncomfortable that this person had actually appeared, now changed greatly to ones of horror and fear, because they didn’t expect him to be so narrow-minded as to pursue something like this.

She understood that Li Ling had brought her before the entire sect to let them know that she was his and was not to be touched.

So she complied with his instructions, because this was possibly the biggest security she could secure for herself realistically, her heart even thumping crazily within her chest at being the focus of an entire sect and more.

"I forgot to say, this is my first wife, Bai Ruyi, Saintess of the Boundless Joy Sect. In her hands is my first daughter, Li Lingyi, and we will be holding a welcome ceremony for her after the tournament, so all of you are invited to attend," Li Ling announced casually, his eyes taking in those who stood against him, not caring about their pale faces and rapidly shaking heads as if trying to deny it.

Looking into the crowd, Li Ling raised his voice. "Where is Shen Ziyan? If you’re here, come on down and let me introduce you to everyone!"

A figure speechlessly stood up from the common area for Core Disciples, floating down onto the stage on a platform of light with twitching lips even as everyone stared at her. She landed beside Li Ling, glancing at him deeply, though her troublesome nose began twitching rapidly, her rate of breathing increasing as she enjoyed the scent she had come to crave.

"This is Shen Ziyan, matriarch of the Shen Clan. She is my second wife and part of my family, just like Ruyi and Lingyi," Li Ling introduced with a smarmy grin, not minding her weird behavior.

"Speaking of my family, I would like to take this chance to announce that today marks the formal establishment of the Infinite Slaughter Li Clan, headed by myself as patriarch, with my two wives and daughter forming the members of my noble lineage."

Li Ling’s subsequent words caused a slight uproar, because this was a formal announcement that he was establishing his own force in front of everyone, making those who planned to subdue him under them or invite him to their forces wear grim expressions.

This was basically him saying that the only path for others was either to ally with him, if they had the qualifications, or subordinate themselves under him, once again if they had the qualifications.

As for the other solution... none dared harbor the thought, lest their killing intent be sensed by the upper echelon of the sect, who clearly intended to nurture this talent, even allowing him to speak so much nonsense at a formal occasion like this!
