Infinity, The Arcade Age-Chapter 508: Chun-Li’s Shock
Chapter 508: Chapter 508: Chun-Li’s Shock
"I know you."
Before Qin Ming and his two companions could finish exchanging awkward glances, Chun-Li, who was standing in front of the table, suddenly spoke.
Her gaze was locked onto Qin Ming, sharp and focused.
"You’re that fairly well-known fighter, the one who’s competed in quite a few tournaments, right?"
Qin Ming was briefly stunned, but quickly realized it was likely due to the effect of his title—his ’entry identity’ kicking in.
Judging by Chun-Li’s expression, though, it seemed her affection meter hadn’t been boosted. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be acting so cold.
"That’s right. I’m the fairly well-known fighter. What, want an autograph?"
"No need. I just want to ask you something—do you recognize this?"
Face expressionless, Chun-Li spoke as she pulled out a medal from her chest pocket and placed it gently on the table.
It was a skull-shaped medallion, incredibly menacing in appearance.
Qin Ming, who had never seen this before, frowned and shook his head.
Watching his every move and closely observing his expression, Chun-Li saw he wasn’t lying. She let out a sigh and retrieved the medallion, bowing slightly in apology.
"Sorry to bother you."
With that, she turned and walked away without hesitation.
Chun-Li—native of Hong Kong, now an Interpol officer tasked with apprehending criminals.
She once lived a peaceful and happy life, but everything changed when her father—a former Interpol officer—was killed while investigating a secret organization.
She had personally witnessed her father being taken away. Since then, he’d vanished without a trace. Over the years, Chun-Li had been chasing any information about that organization, determined to avenge him.
The skull medallion was her only clue.
Watching her departing figure, Qin Ming narrowed his eyes, his expression growing solemn.
If he wasn’t mistaken, that medallion belonged to Shadaloo.
And what was Shadaloo?
Let’s put it this way—its founder, M. Bison (Vega in Japan), was basically the cockroach king of Street Fighter. From the very beginning of the franchise, he appeared in almost every generation.
Every time, he had an evil plan. Every time, he got beaten. But he never failed to demonstrate the true meaning of "participation matters."
If there were no M. Bison, Street Fighter’s story would instantly lose 90% of its content.
And within Shadaloo? Oh, there were all kinds of goodies—like the Feng Shui Engine, or the Mind Control Device. All high-grade loot.
If I can find their base, Qin Ming thought, maybe I could get a bionic eye or something.
One of those things could boost his internal energy by 30%. What if he installed two? Or altered his blood and body enough to cram in dozens of them?
Wouldn’t his energy levels skyrocket?
As Qin Ming fell deep into thought, Mai Shiranui, seated next to him, suddenly nudged his side.
Seeing him look up, she opened her fan to cover her mouth and whispered, "Junior brother, heads up—something’s off."
Qin Ming raised an eyebrow in confusion and followed her gaze—and immediately noticed something strange.
After Chun-Li left, someone else in the roadside diner also stood up and quickly followed her.
And as that person walked past, they shot a very strange look at Qin Ming’s group.
More precisely—they looked at Mai Shiranui.
Seeing this, Qin Ming frowned and silently pulled out his dinosaur sunglasses and put them on.
After observing for a moment, he then took them off and spoke in a low voice.
"Adventurer."
"Targeting Chun-Li?"
"Maybe."
"Should we go join the fun?"
"What do you think?"
The moment their eyes met, Qin Ming, Mai Shiranui, and Kasamoto Eri all broke into radiant smiles.
These three were the furthest thing from well-behaved. If there wasn’t any excitement around, they’d find a way to make some themselves.
So now that there was clearly some trouble brewing, how could they possibly resist joining in?
After quickly settling the bill, the three of them stood up in unison and strode off in the direction Chun-Li had left.
.....
At that moment, Chun-Li had already returned to her hotel, sitting blankly on the couch with a rather dejected look on her face.
Don’t be fooled by her killer figure—Chun-Li was still just newly an adult.
Having just come of age, she suddenly had to carry the burden of avenging her father, chasing leads across countries. And even after nearly a year of searching, she still hadn’t found anything. The psychological pressure was immense.
But she wasn’t a normal girl. After a moment of stillness, she pulled herself together, slapped her cheeks lightly, and stood up with renewed determination.
She sorted through her intel, pulled out the most valuable pieces, then headed for the bathroom to shower and cool down.
Martial artists pay a price—one of which is an incredibly fast metabolism, which leads to sweating a lot.
Male fighters might not care too much, even skipping a shower for days and still thinking it added to their "manliness." freeωebnovēl.c૦m
But for a female fighter like Chun-Li, it was a completely different story.
Not letting her bathe was practically torture—she might as well be killed. After all, even fighters care about being presentable.
Standing beneath the showerhead, cold water cascading over her toned body, Chun-Li closed her eyes and stood motionless.
The cold water hitting her skin sent up waves of steam, enveloping her entirely in heat and mist.
And just as she was finally starting to unwind and enjoy a rare moment of peace... Chun-Li’s eyes suddenly snapped open, sharp and alert.
She grabbed the shower curtain and spun her body, covering her figure as she shouted,
"Who’s there?! Come out!"
The room fell into utter silence.
Seeing that no one responded, Chun-Li gritted her teeth.
"I saw you! Come out!"
Right after she yelled, the sound of footsteps echoed through the room, and a figure slowly emerged from the shadows.
It was Kasamoto Eri, hugging her demon sword, wearing a sheepish smile.
"Oops, you caught me. Your perception is really sharp."
Upon seeing her, Chun-Li’s eyes widened in disbelief, utterly stunned.
Eri blinked, puzzled by her reaction—then her smile vanished. She turned toward the shadows.
"Boss, I think... she wasn’t talking about me. She noticed you two."
No sooner had she finished speaking than a low growl came from the darkness nearby.
"You idiot! If she didn’t even sense you, how could she possibly have sensed us?! Shut up! Don’t blow our cover!"
"Oh."
Seeing Qin Ming and Mai Shiranui still refusing to reveal themselves, Kasamoto Eri grinned.
Then, incredibly, she hugged her demon sword tighter and casually reversed back into the shadows—vanishing once again.
Wrapped in her shower curtain, Chun-Li stood frozen, her mind a total blank.
She looked at the spot where Eri had just vanished, then at the dark corner where the voice came from, and finally turned to the exact spot where she’d first sensed movement.
Her eyes were round as saucers.
Wait a minute... just how many people are in this room?!
