Information to Mastery: Points Store System-Chapter 259: Anxiety
The moment that Brian rushed out of the private room, he did not stop. He immediately headed towards the elevator, only for him to be stopped by Alex and the others.
When Alex, Raymond and the others saw Brian who was rushing over, they thought that he had escaped. So, they immediately blocked him, not wanting to allow him to get away.
But even then, they were kind of puzzled. Considering the abilities that Michael had demonstrated, Brian should not have managed to escape, right?
Despite what they were thinking about, they still blocked Brian. Unless Brian was allowed to leave by Michael, they would not let him get past them.
Brian on the other hand felt frustrated the moment that Alex and the others blocked his path. Previously, they were nothing to him, and he could deal with them as he wanted.
It was to the extent that he was willing to give them a chance to call whoever they could depend on, so that that person could say them.
But now, the situation had completely turned around. Without his underlings, he was not capable of dealing with Alex and the others.
So, he could only glare at them as he said urgently, "Get out of the way! I don’t have much time, I need to get out of here!"
"No way! You are not going anywhere. You think that you can escape? Even if you have somehow managed to escape from Michael, don’t think about escaping from me." Dalton stated as he stepped forward with his bulky frame blocking in front of Brian.
Brian was immediately intimidated by Dalton’s frame. Being someone who was so much used to indulging himself in the capital, he had never trained how to fight.
So, facing Brian’s intimidating frame, he took several steps back. But when he remembered that he only had less than 20 minutes to get out of here, he collected his courage as he said, "Michael is the one who let me go. I don’t have time, I need to leave as soon as possible!"
"Who do you think will believe you? Unless Michael tells us personally that he is the one who let you go, don’t think about going anywhere." Alex commented from the side.
This left Brian extremely frustrated. He looked behind him, where he had just come from, but he could not see Michael’s figure, as he was still within the private room.
This frustrated him even more, as he thought, should he just go back and ask Michael to tell this group to get out of his way? But then again, that would waste a lot of time.
But at the same time, with his current abilities, it was impossible for him to be able to force his way through. If he rarely dared to do that, he would end up being beaten up by the group.
Alex had been observing Brian ever since the guy arrived here. And looking at his panicked expression, it seemed that there was something urgent that he needed to do.
He could tell that there was a high probability that it was true that Michael had allowed this guy to leave. Otherwise, with Michael’s abilities, unless something had happened to him, it was impossible for Brian to be able to escape.
But he dared not take the risk. What if something had really happened to Michael, which was why Brian had gotten the chance to leave?
So, he simply said, "Just as I said before, unless Michael confirms that he is the one who let you go, you are not leaving here. In fact, I’m really itching to beat you up, every time that I remember that arrogant look on your face back in the private room."
The moment that Alex mentioned this, the others were immediately riled up. They all thought about how Brian looked down on them, and how he was intending to humiliate them.
He had spoken arrogantly, to the extent that he angered all of them. Now, they were mostly thinking about why Brian was here, and not what had happened back then.
But with Alex mentioning it, they all glared at Brian, itching to beat him up. But without understanding the current situation, none of them made a move.
Facing the menacing gazes from the group, Brian, who was already drenched in sweat, felt a chill running down his spine. He took several steps back once again, as the frustration within him grew.
Every second wasted here, indicated that his life was in much more danger. So, he really needed to get out of here.
At this time, Raymond suggested, "Let me go and check out if Michael was the one who allowed him to leave or not. If something happened to Michael, I promise, even if I have to go to jail, I will definitely kill this guy."
The others immediately nodded. So, Raymond began walking towards the direction of the private room that was located almost at the end of the hallway.
But he had only taken a few steps when suddenly, Michael stepped out of the private room, looking over. And when they saw him, in a perfect condition, they realized that nothing had really happened to him.
"Let him leave. He really needs time, because the clock is not on his side." Michael said casually.
Even though Alex and the others were confused about what Michael was trying to say, they still moved aside, allowing Brian to leave.
Brian quickly rushed towards the elevator, as he furiously began pressing the buttons. Unfortunately, the elevator was currently in use, most probably, someone downstairs was getting into the elevator.
Realizing that it would take quite a while for the elevator to come back up, he quickly rushed towards the stairs, rushing down.
Looking at Brian who was acting frantically, Alex and the others were even more confused. The way that this guy was acting, it was as though he was being chased by a swarm of bees, with his life at stake.
Still, they did not bother with him, as they focused on Michael instead. As for Michael, after informing Alex and the others about this, he approached them.
"You guys can go ahead and do something else, especially dealing with the injuries that you have suffered. For now, I need to go back, as there is something that I left pending." Michael said as soon as he approached the group.
Initially, Alex and the others wanted to invite Michael, so that they could treat him to a meal or drinks to thank him properly. But the moment that he said those words, they were reminded that they had been injured.
Even though only some of them had suffered bigger injuries, it was nothing serious, considering that they had only been beaten up, and not fatally injured.
They could still walk around, but they were feeling some pain. So, they really needed to get the injuries treated. Additionally, Michael had obviously rushed over, leaving behind what he was busy with. This was something that made all of them feel touched.
As for the issue of where Brian previously mentioned something about mutants, neither of them paid attention to that. It was clear, that was something very sensitive.
So, if Michael did not say anything about it, neither of them would ask, despite their curiosity.
Even if the families that they belong to were small as compared to those in the central province, they were still families with net worth of billions of dollars. So, the group understood some unspoken rules of the high society.
Some things, it would be better for someone not to know. Because the moment that they knew about them, their lives could be at risk.
"No problem. But, don’t disappear for too long like you usually do. At least, you should give us a chance of thanking you for the help that you have given us." Alex spoke, and the others immediately nodded in agreement.
Michael thought about it, before he also nodded. He thought, if there was a chance, he wouldn’t mind spending a little more time with these guys.
With that, he waited for the elevator that opened up a few seconds later, before he got inside. Alex and the others did not join him, allowing him to depart alone.
Inside the elevator, there was nobody else, as the manager seemed to understand that something big was happening on this floor. So, everyone that came into the KTV was either stopped outside, or all those that entered, they went to higher floors or the ones below.
As the doors of the elevator closed, Onyx, who had been silent all this while, finally spoke.
"I have already completed the investigation regarding mutants. The information was secured quite deeply, in such a way that they were using different servers and databases that are not linked to the most used databases of the government."
"I have already compiled the information into a PDF, and I have summarized it in such a way that you can easily go through the information in a short time, or you can go through the detailed information if you wish."
Since the issue regarding mutants was hidden, Michael understood that it would not be that easy to be able to find the information. But even then, it was impossible for the government to not upload the information in one way or the other.
So, despite the measures that they had put in in order to prevent anyone without authorization from accessing the information, Onyx was still able to.
Despite knowing that Onyx had already found the information that he wanted, Michael did not have any intention of going through the information for now.
A few seconds later, the doors of the elevators opened, only to reveal to Michael a group of security guards standing outside the elevator, holding batons, while cautiously looking into the elevator as the doors opened.
