"Something that you will never be able to find out in this life, or maybe even the next one." Michael simply shook his head as he responded.
He did not see any need to continue conversing with Nathan. So, he pointed towards the door and said, "You can scram now."
Veins popped up on Nathan’s face, as his eyes turned a shade of red. At this point, it was clear that Nathan was extremely furious.
Unfortunately, at the moment, he was at Michael’s base. There was no way that he could act.
Additionally, just from the fact that Michael was able to know about the existence of mutants, it was clear that he was not simple.
At this point, he could not help but wonder, could it be that the information that he had received was false? Or could it be that this was just a deliberate game played by the Santos family?
But that did not make any sense. He had already made arrangements, to the extent that it would be impossible for Newton to be able to realize anything. At the moment, it was quite easy for him to be able to obtain any information from the Santos family.
Or, was it possible that, during the time that this kid was out here, he had some fortunate encounter? Could it be that some rich person had passed away and left everything for him?
Or maybe, could it be that there were other channels for the acquisition of the mutation serums?
As all kinds of questions emerged in Nathan’s mind, he gazed deeply at Michael. He gnashed his teeth in anger, wanting to erupt, but he managed to hold himself back.
While nodding, he said, "Good, good, good! I never expected that you had some ability. But let me tell you one thing. Knowing about the existence of mutants does not mean that you are one.
Even if you are a mutant yourself, so what? Can you deal with two mutants? Can you deal with four? Can you deal with eight?
No matter what, you are just one person. So, kid, watch your back. Remember, this is not over!"
After saying those words, Nathan left in anger, yet had nowhere to vent. As for Michael, he completely ignored the threats from Nathan. After all, why would someone be afraid of the threats of the dead?
The moment that he thought of that, he asked Onyx to contact one of the shadow guards that was protecting John and the others, at least the one that was free, to take care of Nathan. Michael instructed Onyx to send the details about Nathan and the current location, so that the shadow guard could make plans on how to deal with him.
The shadow guard bio human had to coordinate with Vincent, to make sure that this matter was dealt with silently.
The reason why he did not directly send Vincent to deal with this was quite simple. There was a possibility that there was a mutant that was protecting Nathan, or Nathan himself was a mutant.
So, Michael was not really sure if just by depending on the physique of the bio humans, it would be enough to be able to deal with mutants.
It was for this reason that he wanted the shadow guard to be involved, just to make sure that nothing went wrong during the operation.
Michael of course understood that by killing Nathan, he would be suspected. He did not believe that there was nobody within the blood Reapers syndicate that did not know about the fact that Nathan was coming to find him.
But so what? If they dare to send another person, Michael would not hesitate to kill them as well.
Not long after Nathan had left, Marion and Susan returned. They seemed to have seen Nathan leaving, and so, they decided to end their walk short.
"Michael, are you okay? Did he try to do something to you?" Even though she knew that Michael was strong, Marion was worried as she asked the moment that she entered into the living room.
"There is no need to worry. Something like that, I can easily deal with it. Even if he decided to attack me, you should know, I have the capability of hunting it." Michael responded.
At the same time, he wondered, should he change the decision that he had made before?
Previously, he had decided that he would only help the Wilson family three times at most. The first time had already been used, now, only 2 chances remain.
But with Michael possessing the expert level human insight skill, he could tell that Marion was genuinely worried about him.
Yes, the two of them were related. But, they had never interacted before they met, during the time that Michael coincidentally saved Marion.
But ever since she knew that Michael was her cousin, Marion did not treat him like a stranger at all. The way that she acted around him, it was as though they were familiar with each other ever since they were young.
So, facing such a genuine person, Michael was not sure if he could continue with the decision that he had made initially, especially if Marion was in trouble, or she came asking for help.
Regardless, he decided to leave that for another time. For now, he decided to go ahead and attempt acquiring an ability.
"That’s good. That person, he is Brian’s father. Even though he usually does not act as arrogantly as his son, he is known to be very scheming and petty.
No matter how small the grievance, he would usually make sure to repay it. And those that cross him, none of them has ever had a good ending." Marion was seemingly relieved as she said those words.
Being in the capital, despite not being from a family that was of great power within the city itself, but even then, somethings just could not be hidden.
Additionally, she had quite some friends back in the capital, and through them, she was able to acquire information that was otherwise inaccessible.
"Thanks for the concern. Anyway, I’m going upstairs, I still need to deal with something." Michael stood up as he said.
Then, he looked at Adrian, telling him, "You can go ahead with what you want to do. For the next few days, try to make sure that the plans move as fast as possible. If there is anything that is needed, let me know in advance, there is no need to use long procedures and methods when I can shorten them."
"Okay. I will make sure to inform you in case of anything." Adrian nodded as he said, before he turned to leave.
Initially, Michael had planned to come and eat breakfast first, then go back up to test out the ability from the system, through the serum.
But with Nathan coming over, it had changed his plans. Additionally, he could just eat a high calorie energy bar to replenish his energy when needed.
Michael quickly went back to his room, before he closed the door. Even though he was not worried that anyone would come in, this was just in case. After all, the issue regarding the system could not be revealed.
Quickly accessing the system store, he managed to find the serums. Of course, he did not pay attention to those serums of grade A and below. Instead, he just focused on grade S and above.
In the system store, the pricing of the serums was as follows, grade SSS; over 65 SP, grade SS; 35 to 60 SP, grade S; 15 to 30 SP, grade A; 4.1 to 8 SP, grade B; 2.1 to 4 SP , grade C; 1.1 to 2 SP, grade D; 0.6 to 1 SP, grade E; 0.2 to 0.5 SP.
Looking at the grade SSS abilities available, for a moment, Michael was not really sure about what ability to select first.
Total Regeneration: This ability allowed the user to heal from almost any injury in seconds. Deep wounds would close, bones would reset, and lost flesh could grow back. It used a lot of energy, and if the body was damaged too many times in a short period, healing would slow down. Price: 68 SP.
Impact Immunity: This made the body ignore physical force. Bullets would stop, blades could not cut, and punches would not cause damage. Very heavy and continuous pressure could still push the body back. Price: 72 SP.
Unlimited Strength: The ability removed the normal limit of muscle power. The user could keep getting stronger during a fight. The problem was that the surroundings would break easily, and the body still needed energy to continue. Price: 75 SP.
Rapid Adaptation: It allowed the body to adjust quickly to danger. Poison would stop working, heat and cold would lose effect, and repeated attacks would become less useful. Sudden massive damage could still hurt before the body adjusted. 78 SP.
Auto Reflex: This made the body move before the mind understood the danger. The user would dodge or block attacks without thinking. Too many attacks at once could overload the senses. 80 SP.
Storm Control: It allowed the user to create and guide large storms over a city. Lightning could strike where chosen, and strong winds would follow commands. It worked best when the weather already supported storm conditions. Price: 100 SP.
Power Control: It gave control over large electrical systems. The user could shut down power grids, stop communications, and control electricity in buildings. It depended on existing electrical networks. Price: 105 SP.
Flash Freeze: The ability dropped the temperature across several city blocks in a short time. Roads would freeze, water would turn to ice, and movement would slow down. Strong heat sources could weaken the effect. Price: 110 SP.
Ground Break: It allowed the user to crack streets and damage building foundations. Shockwaves would travel through the ground in controlled paths. Deep or reinforced structures could reduce the damage. Price: 115 SP.
Mass Fire: It caused large areas to burst into flames quickly. Buildings and streets could catch fire within minutes. It required fuel nearby, and empty concrete areas reduced its effect. Price: 120 SP.
Total Control: It allowed full control over one person’s actions. The target would obey commands completely. Strong mental resistance could delay control, and using it for long periods caused mental strain. Price: 92 SP.
Mind Shutdown: It could force people in an area to lose consciousness instantly. Anyone inside the range would collapse. Using it for too long could damage the user’s own brain. Price: 130 SP.
Memory Change: Could allow the user to remove or replace memories. A person could believe something different from what truly happened. Changing large or complex memories required strong focus and effort. Price: 95 SP.
Crowd Control: It allowed the user to influence the emotions of many people at once. Fear, calm, or anger could spread quickly. If the crowd resisted strongly, control could weaken. Price: 150 SP.
Mind Erase: It removed a person’s personality and sense of self. The body would stay alive, but the person inside would be gone. It required direct focus on one target at a time. Price: 148 SP.
