Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 375 - One on One Talks with the Fiancés (Part 3)
Chapter 375: Chapter 375 - One on One Talks with the Fiancés (Part 3)
I placed my teacup down on the table and also looked at him with an emotionless face for a longer time without saying anything. It sure was way longer that the time he did the same towards me. Since he liked playing with other people’s minds this way, wouldn’t it be fun to give him a taste of his own medicine?
Luxiel was still standing near the door, still nursing his injured shoulder. He refused to approach anywhere near Touya fearing that the guy might add more injuries to his body so he opted to just observe us from afar. I looked at him and he looked back with puppy dog eyes as if telling me that someone bullied and hurt him so I have to avenge him. I wanted to laugh but I have another fiancé in front of me that I need to deal with.
Not hearing anything from me and just seeing me staring at Luxiel after just staring at him with no response, he coughed softly and asked again, "May I please invite you to the Amagai territory, your highness? Or, can you at least please say anything in response to me?"
I slowly stood up from my seat and walked past where Touya was standing to make my way to the main door of the mansion. Not caring if Touya could see, I touched Luxiel’s shoulder which made the gruff man whine this time as my healing spell hit his internal injury.
Yes, you read that right. His shoulder joint was dislocated from that seemingly weak bump and for some sick reason, Touya also added something in there to make the healing process as slowly as possible. With my soft tap on his shoulder, I negated whatever debuff was placed in there and made the injury heal in an instant. I heard Touya click his tongue in annoyance while I saw Luxiel give a triumphant and smug smirk. I could only sigh and shake my head on how childish these two are.
After leaving the Flynn territory, Touya took an initiative to walk faster to get in front of me and only slowed down when he noticed that I did not make any effort to hasten my walking pace to follow him. I heard him sigh and say under his breath, "Isn’t it too early to play favorites?"
I chuckled at his comment and sarcastically said, "There is no such thing as favoritism here. You’ll hate it if I really started playing favorites. And if I show preference to Luxiel, I won’t even bother accepting your invitation and following you right now."
Touya suddenly stopped walking and slowly turned around to look at me. He gave me a look as if saying a mix of "Are you serious right now?" and maybe "How dare you?" or maybe only one of those. I can’t really be sure though since I have not known him for that long to know how he thinks or what those looks and facial reactions mean.
Upon seeing that I do not seem to be sorry for what I just said, he turned towards the front and started walking again. This time, his steps were heavier, almost stomping due to annoyance. Since I vowed to teach this guy a lesson, I chortled behind him and I clearly heard him click his tongue. Oh, I think my youngest fiancé would make my life so much fun.
Realizing that I am making fun of him, he turned around abruptly, grabbed a part of my clothes on my waist area and with no warning the surroundings changed instantly as he teleported us to the Amagai territory. When I opened my eyes, I could see a beautiful mansion from afar which was mainly white in color with a splash of the different shades of blue and gray here and there.
The whole territory was already incredibly clean with not a debris in sight which was quite impressive. Thinking about how Touya was the youngest and the least muscular or strong looking of the four, it seems like his control of his elemental mystique mana was the best as he can use the seemingly gentle water to do a lot of work for him in such a short period of time.
When I looked to where he was standing, he was still staring at the mansion from afar and his hand was still holding on to my clothes as if he was scared that I would escape from him. I tapped his hand which successfully got his attention as he hurriedly let go of my clothes and hid away whatever feelings he had when he was staring at his family mansion earlier.
He entered the gates of the mansion and went straight inside as well without looking back at me even once. I took my time looking around and saw that he has even rejuvenated the gardens of the mansion with the little time he had so far which was kind of impressive.
When I reached the doors of the mansion, I still knocked politely since it is technically not my house. He hurriedly opened it and led me to the living room. The inside of the mansion was spacious, clean and had a minimalist design but not at all lacking in any of the opulence that a noble’s mansion should have. He had already prepared all the refreshments and snacks on the table as well.
Once I was seated, he immediately sat comfortably on the chair across from where I was sitting. He started drinking and eating too, not at all in a hurry to start talking about anything with me. We stayed quiet and just did our own thing for several minutes. I kept my eyes down, just enjoying this leisurely time I rarely have.
On the other hand, the man in front of me is practically radiating coldness for some reason. I can also feel his eyes drilling a hole on to my face from staring too much. I just ignored him since he technically invited me here so he had to speak to me first, isn’t it?
Noticing that I didn’t even bother looking at him and I was ignoring that he stayed silent and even his obvious staring wasn’t effective, he coughed a few times to get my attention and said, "I already know how your previous conversations with the others would have turned out. I just want to let you know that I do not have any intentions of competing for your attention or force you to accepting me as your husband if you do not want to."
When he started speaking, I slowly lifted my eyes to look at him since I still wanted to stay polite. After everything he said, I gave him a smile and did not respond immediately. His eyes showed some type of expectation or hope for whatever response I was about to provide.
I asked in a flat tone, "Do you really know what exactly we talked about? With how you said it, I am not sure if I am really the one being forced into this situation or you. I even heard you hated being with me. Would you like to cancel our engagement then since we are clearly not interested in each other nor are we in a friendly relationship?"
His eyes widened gradually, the more words came out of my mouth. His mouth opened up but no words came out. He suddenly looked away to hide the shock in his face and asked a question of his own, "Did you offer to cancel the engagement with the other three as well if they want to go through that route?"
With a dismissive tone, I replied, "No. This offer was only made especially for you. Samir asked to have a child first. Altair asked to be accepted after I am done with Samir. Luxiel asked when I am going to sleep with him and accept him officially. That should be the summary of our conversations, I guess? I also want to let you know that I do not have a hobby of forcing men into a relationship with me too. There are many men who want to be with me and had no choice but to wait patiently for their chance."
Touya was still looking away, refusing to meet my eyes but his cheek which was facing me was starting to turn red. I am just not sure if it was embarrassment or maybe anger. I feel that he doesn’t have anything to be angry about though since he did not care much about being with me.
When he heard my full answer, I saw him biting his lower lip. He finally turned his head and faced me. Instead of anger, what I see in his eyes was hurt and maybe a hint of betrayal. I saw tears starting to form in the corner of his eyes but he just kept staring intensely into my eyes as if telling me clearly that it was all my fault for making him feel bad.
I just stared back at him, not understanding anything that is happening right now. I remembered him saying that we don’t have to force each other to be together if we do not have any feelings. Now that I offered to cancel the engagement so he will no longer be tied to me, he’s looking at me as if I flung a long string of curses at him and offended him.
My gosh! This bunch of four is just a whole new specie altogether. Ugh.
