Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 467 - Hide and Seek (Part 3)
Chapter 467: Chapter 467 - Hide and Seek (Part 3)
Upon reaching the 6-hour mark, I bid my goodbyes to the soldiers in the area as well as the manager. They gave their thanks and wishes that I would help out again if I have time. I promised to come back some time tomorrow. I am sure this line will reach the ears of a certain general again.
I went back to my wagon and snuggled my dark elf husband to sleep once again. Fine. We did other things before sleeping. We have to make the most out of the evening since he has to return to Aeterdumnox early the next day.
The next day, I woke up early again, first helping my husband to bathe and dress up. He is obviously trying to delay his departure but he had no choice but to leave and meet with his people for the relocation. He sighed heavily as he teleported out of my wagon after a passionate kiss with me.
Once Void was gone, I teleported as well by the backdoor of the dining area. I entered through that way to he kitchen to help out with meal preparation. As to why I teleported, that’s because a certain someone is standing in front of my wagon door again.
I spent a couple of hours helping out in the kitchen and even serving meals at the hall. When I came out of the kitchen, some soldiers looked at me in surprise and one immediately left the dining hall. He must be informing a certain someone that he was waiting for nothing by the wagon.
Seeing that they are calling for their boss, I went back to the kitchen then out the backdoor. I saw some soldiers running towards the back area so I teleported on one of the side entrances of the military hospital this time. I entered the place and went to work with the medical personnel. I also helped out at the alchemy laboratory as part of my routine.
Upon seeing me inside the hospital, one of the guards stationed at the main entrance left his post in a hurry as if an urgent report needs to be sent to someone. I smirked at the obvious surveillance that a certain someone has placed in every place I work in.
I went back inside the alchemy room and worked with the the two alchemist to make some basic ointments, potions and pills again. There is much to do as of the moment due to the amount of herbs I have delivered to them. It is urgent to preserve the herbs either by drying them or turning them into medicine as soon as possible.
I stayed inside the alchemy laboratory an hour longer than yesterday due to this. After spending three hours in the medical facility, I decided to teleport to the tent area again to help out. Though I have already worked about 5 hours today, I plan to still work for 3 hours in this area since no one is waiting for me back in the wagon anyways.
This routine and the little hide and seek I was playing with General Astrantia lasted for about 2 more days. On the 5th day since I arrived in the northern military camps, another meeting was called with all the leaders and managers to discuss task completion and progress and other urgent needs.
As I arrived at the meeting venue, I purposely sat next to Andreas on purpose. At this position, a certain someone has to turn his head constantly at an almost 45-degree angle if he wanted to play his little staring game again. If he plans to get a stiff neck soon, he is free to stare all he wants during this meeting.
After the reports on task progress, the next agenda that was discussed was the upcoming foraging activity which aims to collect more wood for construction, firewood to keep everything warm, herbs and other alchemy materials for the medical facility as well as edible plants and hunting animals for meat to extend the food supply. As it turns out, this activity is scheduled twice a month with soldiers taking turns going out of the camp as part of military training as well.
Each foraging activity has 60 members divided to 10 teams. Each team will have one representative each from the dining facility, medical facility and the storage facility and the last 3 members are combatants for hunting and protection of the team members. As to which task each team will do, it will be based on luck.
Two of the teams will be assigned to forage edible plants. Another two teams will be assigned to hunt for animals while another two teams will look for alchemy materials. The last four teams were assigned to gather firewood and wood for construction use. All teams would scout only one side of the forest to avoid anybody from getting lost or ending up too far from the rest of the team.
Just like last meeting, I was simply listening in and did not comment on any of the topics discussed. I thought that the meeting wil end smoothly but a certain impatient general forcibly include me in the discussions by asking me a question directly.
General Astrantia called my name and asked, "Envoy Luna, are you going to join any of the foraging teams so you can monitor how we do it? Your storage ability will come in handy for any team that you will join."
I did not look at him even as he talked to me directly. I gave a perfunctory smile as I responded to no one in particualr, "I prefer to work alone than in a team so if ever I would go, I would go on my own in a different part of the forest. As for storage spaces, I can give each team an intermediate storage ring for their use. I think that would suffice."
As my last sentence hanged in the air, i conjured 10 sumple looking silver thumb rings that I enchanted with space magic to become storage rings. I then added, "You can choose which person you will entrust each storage ring to for each team of six."
