Interstellar Beastworld: Raising A Cub With My Mummy System!-Chapter 33: THE AURA PRO
"Well not necessarily in person, but I made sure and was very specific that there be no sharp edges and had Mira confirm it for me."
The nursery was nice.
Anyone with eyes could see it was built with love.
"Auriel, mummy is just going to drop you in your crib, change and come back to play with you. In the meantime, auntie Mira will watch you so don’t cause any trouble for her."
Auriel cooed, waving his tiny fists at the mobile hanging above the crib.
They moved on to the main bedroom. It was large but not overwhelming, with a bed big enough for three, soft lighting, and a sitting area by the window. A door led to a bathroom with a deep soaking tub and what looked like a shower with multiple settings.
And then Lin Yue noticed the closet.
It was walk-in, bigger than her entire apartment back on Earth. One side was filled with Uriel’s clothes, neat and organized. The other side was absolutely packed. Clothes in every color, hanging neatly. Shelves of shoes, rows of them. Drawers filled with jewelry that caught the light. A vanity stocked with makeup, more than she had ever owned in her life.
She stared.
"Uriel."
"Yes?"
"What is this?"
He came to stand beside her, looking at the overflowing closet with satisfaction. "Your side."
"I can see that. But... this is too much."
He shrugged. "It’s not, it’s bare minimum."
She walked in slowly, running her fingers over the fabrics. Silks and soft cottons and dresses in colors she loved. She pulled open a drawer and found delicate jewelry, tasteful and elegant. The makeup was organized by type, everything she could possibly need.
"When did you do this?"
He was quiet for a moment. "I may have sent a team while you were in the hospital. I told them to get everything. They may have taken that literally." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Lin Yue laughed. "They may have?"
"I approved the final list." He paused. "I wanted you to feel like this is your home. Not a guest. Not a visitor. Yours."
She looked at him, at his carefully neutral expression, at the way his ears twitched slightly. He was trying. Really trying.
"Thank you," she said softly.
"You keep saying that."
"Because you keep giving me reasons to."
He walked to the table in the middle and picked up the bag, it was white bag with what looked like a fruit logo.
"This is for you."
Lin Yue took the bag, wondering what could he inside.
"A phone?"
"Yes."
She pulled the ribbon and lifted the lid.
Inside, nestled in soft padding, was a phone. Sleek and elegant, with a curved edge that glowed faintly. It was packaged like any new device back on Earth, with a small booklet and a charging cable coiled beside it.
She lifted it carefully, turning it over in her hands. The interface was dark, waiting to be activated. It felt familiar, like her old smartphone, but sleeker, lighter.
"The Aura Pro," Uriel said. "It is the most popular model right now. Trending everywhere."
Lin Yue turned the phone over in her hands, examining it from every angle. The packaging felt familiar, almost nostalgic. She had unboxed phones back on Earth countless times. This was the same, yet different.
"The Aura Pro," she repeated. "It is beautiful."
Uriel nodded toward it. "Turn it on."
She pressed the power button. The screen lit up with a smooth animation, a swirling pattern that resolved into a welcome message in multiple languages. One of them was Mandarin.
She blinked. "This is in Chinese."
"It supports multiple languages. I made sure yours was included."
She looked at him. "You made sure?"
"I gave them a list." He shrugged like it was nothing. "Continue."
She tapped through the setup screens.
Language selected.
Region.
Then a prompt for fingerprint.
"Place your thumb where it shows," Uriel instructed.
She did. The device beeped softly.
"Now the neural link." He paused. "Your implant will sync with it. The phone will recognize you just by you holding it. No passwords needed."
She stared at him. "It knows it is me?"
"The implant broadcasts a unique signature. Only you have it. The phone reads that signature and unlocks automatically." He gestured at the screen. "It should prompt you now."
A message appeared: Neural link detected.
Sync with implant?
She pressed yes.
A soft chime. The screen flickered and then settled on a home screen, icons arranged neatly.
"The interface is called Luma," Uriel said. "It is supposed to be intuitive."
She scrolled through the icons. Messaging. Camera. Settings. A store icon. Social apps she did not recognize.
"Q-Tune is for social feeds," he pointed. "Like your Weibo. iLink is for messaging, like WeChat. There are others. You will find them."
Lin Yue looked at him. "How do you know about Weibo and WeChat?"
He was quiet for a moment. "I asked Mira to research. She found comparisons online."
"You had your head of household research Earth apps?"
"I wanted you to have something familiar." He said it simply, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
She looked back at the phone, at the icons waiting to be explored, at the device that somehow bridged the gap between Earth and this alien world. Her throat felt tight.
"Thank you," she whispered.
"You keep saying that."
"Because you keep giving me reasons to."
He did not respond. But his hand reached out and touched hers briefly, just for a moment. Then he stepped back.
"Get settled. Rest. Explore." He moved toward the door. "I have things to attend to, but I will be nearby."
Lin Yue nodded, already absorbed in her new phone.
He paused at the door. "There is also a tablet on the desk. For when you want something larger. And Mira has instructions for everything if you get stuck."
"I will figure it out."
"I know you will."
Lin Yue sat on the edge of the bed, scrolling through the apps, exploring the settings. The neural link worked seamlessly. Every time she picked up the phone, it unlocked instantly. It felt like magic.
She opened iLink, the messaging app. A contact was already loaded: Uriel Khyrnos.
She smiled.
Down the hall, she could hear Auriel’s happy coos drifting from the nursery. Mira’s soft voice followed, murmuring to him.
Lin Yue slipped the phone into her pocket and headed toward the sound..
