Chapter 101: Chapter 99: Poisoned

Song Qingyu and her team were closing in on the fallen thug. He wasn’t dead, struggling on the ground, blood pooling beneath him.

After a quick glance from Song Qingyu, two officers moved to restrain the thug. But just as they approached him, the thug, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, suddenly lunged toward Song Qingyu.

Song Qingyu reacted swiftly, stepping back and pulling the trigger. Another gunshot echoed, striking the thug between the eyes, blowing his head open. Blood and brains splattered around, a sight too horrendous to bear. The thug’s eyes were wide open, fixed on Song Qingyu with a hideously twisted expression of fury and defiance, and even in his dying moment, he managed to claw at Song Qingyu’s leg.

"Ah!"

Song Qingyu let out a piercing scream, clutching her leg, but her body started convulsing. Patches of purple began to spread across her face, and she fell to the ground.

"Captain!"

"Captain!"

This sudden turn of events had the four officers pale with shock. As they crowded around Song Qingyu, it was clear to anyone with a bit of common sense that these were signs of poisoning.

Looking at the now-dead thug’s hand, there was a short needle, evidently used to stab Song Qingyu’s thigh, dripping with poison. Such a terrifying poison acted quickly, rendering Song Qingyu helpless on the ground, a look of extreme distress on her face.

The situation was indeed critical.

"Request backup from headquarters immediately!" The four officers became frantic, making calls for reinforcement and dialing 120 for an ambulance to arrive as quickly as possible.

"Ah!" Guo Momo and the other two women rushed over, and upon seeing the scene, they screamed in unison. Lin Feifei’s eyes welled up as she approached Song Qingyu, "Qingyu, what’s wrong with you?"

Tangyu, carrying a slender man who was knocked out, hurried over. From a distance, he saw the scene unfold and quickened his pace, pushing through the crowd and tossing the slender man aside.

Seeing Song Qingyu’s condition, Tangyu frowned deeply, "Not good, she’s poisoned, and it’s terrifyingly potent." His eyes flashed with determination, but without further thought, he knelt down and tore open the area where the poison needle had pierced, revealing a swollen lump, the entire leg turned a sinister shade of black and purple.

"What are you doing?" The four officers from Song Qingyu’s team snapped to attention, glaring at Tangyu.

"Get out of my way and don’t bother me. If you don’t want anything to happen to your captain, back off," Tangyu commanded, shooting the officers a stern look. Intimidated by his tone, they involuntarily stepped back, hands withdrawn.

"Don’t worry, we are Qingyu’s good friends. He’s a doctor, he can save Qingyu," Lin Feifei explained.

There was still some doubt in the officers’ eyes, but with no other options and awaiting headquarters’ support, they had to wait.

Tangyu’s serious demeanor was impressive. He swiftly touched several key acupoints on Song Qingyu, then gently slapped the spot where the poison needle had entered.

After these actions, Song Qingyu’s convulsions stopped, her complexion improved slightly, though she still looked terrible, and her condition remained dire. Her eyes slowly opened, finally showing a hint of consciousness.

"Tang... Tangyu," Song Qingyu spoke weakly.

Looking at Song Qingyu, Tangyu said seriously, "Don’t talk. You’re very weak now. I’ve only temporarily suppressed the spread of the poison. But your condition is still very serious. We need to find a quiet place where I can detoxify you. I’ll take you for treatment right now."

Hearing his assertive tone, looking at his earnest face and trustworthy eyes, Song Qingyu felt an inexplicable stir within, as if a chord deep in her heart was gently plucked.

She had never experienced such a sensation before, and it was peculiar. Nodding, Song Qingyu felt exhausted, too tired to keep her eyelids open, too weak to summon any strength in her body, horribly uncomfortable, like she was on the brink of death.

Tangyu took her car keys from Song Qingyu and tossed them to Lin Feifei, "Hurry up and get the car, head to Momo’s place first."

Lin Feifei nodded, and the three women didn’t waste a second before they ran to Song Qingyu’s car. Tangyu picked up Song Qingyu and followed swiftly. Song Qingyu’s subordinates watched Tangyu’s actions, at a loss for what to do.

"You guys stay here and take care of these thugs. That thug has a bomb on him. Leave the situation here to you," Tangyu suddenly threw back as he left.

Song Qingyu’s car wasn’t parked far away, and she quickly found it; within less than five minutes, they arrived at Princess Apartments.

"Let’s go up to the room," Guo Momo said.

Carrying Song Qingyu, Tangyu reached the guest room upstairs and laid Song Qingyu down on the bed. Then he said to Guo Momo and the other two girls, "The poison affecting Captain Song is extremely terrifying. I can’t be disturbed while treating her. You all should leave for now. If anyone comes, don’t let them in; I might need several hours."

"Mm, don’t worry. I won’t even let a fly in. Yaya, stop gawking; let’s go out quickly," Guo Momo nodded and said. The three girls quickly left and locked the door behind them.

After closing the windows and drawing the curtains, Tangyu went over to the unconscious Song Qingyu and said, "To detoxify you, I must take off your pants, just the outer layer. My apologies."

He then proceeded to remove Song Qingyu’s pants, exposing her legs entirely to Tangyu’s view. The mysterious realm of the woman lay fully exposed. However, at that moment, Tangyu had not a single thought of appreciating this sacred place he had never seen before; instead, he focused all his energy on Song Qingyu’s legs.

Luckily, he had arrived in time to seal off the various acupoints, preventing the poison from spreading throughout her body. The upper half of her body was not a major issue, but the lower half posed a much greater problem.

By now, Song Qingyu’s legs had turned a purplish-black and even swelled up; they did not look like human legs at all, presenting a shockingly alarming sight.

"Such a terrifying poison. This is definitely not natural, but a concocted and processed one. There are few powers in the world capable of making such a poison. With that villain possessing this poison, it seems there are hidden dragons and crouching tigers in Donglin City, with big fish lurking in the shadows," Tangyu thought to himself, his eyes gleaming with a few sharp flashes.

He did not dare to hesitate. His hands pressed down on Song Qingyu’s thighs as he infused Pure Yang Power into her body to force the toxins out. To Tangyu’s frustration, the venom was so potent that it began to somewhat resist his Pure Yang Power.

Tangyu clenched his teeth and surged his Pure Yang Power through his fingertips, quickly touching various acupoints on Song Qingyu’s body with a particular technique. The Pure Yang Power coursed through her meridians, connecting in an unusual way to exert tremendous force and slowly pushed the toxins out of her body.

The dark, thick, and foul-smelling toxins gradually seeped out, and Song Qingyu’s complexion slowly lost its purplish-black hue.

Downstairs in the living room, Guo Momo and the other two girls were somewhat worried and anxious.

"It’s been more than an hour; he’s still not out. Could something be wrong?" Lin Feifei said with concern.

Guo Momo glanced at Lin Feifei. In this situation, she was at a loss for words. After all, she knew little about Tangyu, did not know how capable he was, and was unclear about how terrible the poison affecting Song Qingyu was.

Zhao Yaya, however, did not seem particularly worried as she shook her head and said, "Don’t worry, Sister Feifei. I believe in Good Guy Brother. He’s so amazing; there won’t be any issues. Moreover, Good Guy Brother told us not to worry. If he said so, he must be fully confident. We should trust him."

Lin Feifei was taken aback for a moment and then looked at Zhao Yaya. That was true; she should believe in Tangyu. Yet, she still worried.

"Wow, Good Guy Brother is truly incredible, totally awesome, like a god! He’s way more amazing than those protagonists on TV. I admire him so much," Zhao Yaya declared with an adoring expression.

"Hmm, someone’s coming," Guo Momo’s brows twitched as she looked outside to see several police cars stopping.

The three girls got up and walked outside, to be met by a middle-aged man in his forties with a protruding belly and a somewhat corpulent figure. Following him were some police officers, and they had even brought an ambulance.

"Miss Guo, Miss Lin is here too. I heard that you brought Song Qingyu back?" the middle-aged man said.

Guo Momo replied, "Yes, Director Jiang, a friend of mine is a doctor, and he’s currently detoxifying Song Qingyu. He said he’s confident he can cure her, so Director Jiang, please go back. Once the poison is out of Song Qingyu’s system, she’ll contact you."

"Oh, Miss Guo has such a capable friend. However, Captain Song was injured on a mission for our Eastern District, and by all reasoning, we should be the ones providing treatment. Look, I’ve brought the ambulance crew. I heard Captain Song’s poisoning is exceptionally severe, so I still ask that Miss Guo let your friend hand Captain Song over to us. We will definitely do our utmost to save her, employing the best medical care available in all of Donglin City. Oh, Miss Guo, please don’t get me wrong. I am not doubting your friend’s capabilities, but we must take responsibility for this matter. I ask for your understanding," Director Jiang said.

Guo Momo shook her head and said, "No, if my friend says he’s confident, then he definitely is. He ordered not to let anyone disturb him. So, Director Jiang, please leave. Not even half a step will you take into my house." freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Director Jiang’s expression darkened slightly. He truly did not dare to offend the young lady of the Guo Family. However, this matter was indeed of great importance. If something actually happened to Song Qingyu, that might be problematic as they would have a tough time explaining to their superiors.
