Invincible Divine Doctor of the Beautiful Lady-Chapter 102 - 100: Beautiful Chinese Medicine Doctor
Chapter 102: Chapter 100: Beautiful Chinese Medicine Doctor
"You don’t need to worry. Captain Song is already out of danger, so let her rest here for a while. Once she feels a little better, we’ll send her back. You all can go back to continue working on the case." A voice suddenly spoke up, and Tangyu walked out.
As Tangyu appeared, numerous gazes converged on him, and Guo Momo and Lin Feifei felt a sense of relief; Tangyu had finally come out.
Director Jiang’s gaze fixed on Tangyu; he had heard a rough outline of events from Song Qingyu’s subordinates and knew that a man had caught the bomber with explosives strapped to his body and had also located the criminal.
One could say that the successful resolution of the case was all thanks to the efforts of the young man standing before him, who appeared to be in his early twenties. Of course, Director Jiang still looked at Tangyu with a mix of belief and doubt; the young man seemed too ordinary with nothing special about him. How had he managed to accomplish what half of Donglin City’s police elite could not?
How could they save face in Donglin City’s police circles if news of this got out?
Real life isn’t like a TV show—there’s no need for Superman, Spider-Man, or the Hulk.
"Are you sure Captain Song is really okay?" Director Jiang asked sternly.
Tangyu replied, "I’m a doctor; of course I can tell if my patient is in danger or not. She was poisoned, not ill. Sending her to the hospital would be futile and would only lead to her untimely death. Hospitals are not omnipotent; not everything should be rushed to a hospital."
Tangyu’s words managed to irk Director Jiang, who cast an unusual gleam in his eye at Tangyu, saying sternly, "Modern medicine has advanced greatly, and our big hospitals in Donglin City gather elite minds from around the world. No matter what, we still have to take team leader Lin to the hospital for observation, just in case of any unforeseen event." His implication was clear—he did not trust Tangyu.
"Captain Song is safest with me. Sending her to the hospital would harm her," Tangyu said.
Even the most skilled doctors would be helpless against certain potent poisons. For example, without antivenom for cobra poison, even the best doctors can’t cure a cobra’s venom.
The poison that had afflicted Song Qingyu consisted of dozens of the world’s most notoriously deadly toxins, including cobra venom, black spider, blue krait, and giant toxic ants, among others. Tangyu believed that there were few on Earth who could counteract such a composition. Even he would need to exert significant effort to cure it. Sending her to a hospital would be a joke.
"Young man, don’t speak carelessly. We are concerned about Captain Song’s well-being, not harming her," Director Jiang said, showing a flicker of anger as he looked at Tangyu. If it weren’t for Guo Momo and Lin Feifei, both of whom came from influential families, his response would have been less polite.
Guo Momo said, "Director Jiang, I believe my friend. If he says so, then he must have his reasons. I ask you to trust my friend this once, and let Captain Song rest here for a while. Should there be any consequences, my Guo family is willing to take full responsibility."
"Yes, Director Jiang, I trust Tangyu—he really is a highly skilled doctor. I know you want what’s best for Captain Song, but Qingyu is my friend too, and I am equally concerned for her. I’m willing to guarantee that, if anything happens, my Lin family is ready to take responsibility," Lin Feifei added.
Director Jiang bit his lip in frustration, giving Tangyu a searching look. What kind of background did this young man have to make Miss Guo of the Guo family and Miss Lin of the Lin family vouch for him? This development was unexpected for him, and he dared not offend either the Guo or Lin families; they could make trouble for him with just a flick of their fingers.
Since these daughters of influential houses were willing to accept all consequences, he had no option but to say, "Since Miss Guo and Miss Lin insist, I will comply. However, we’ve done everything we’re supposed to. With that, I’ll take my leave. By the way, Captain Song’s subordinates are worried about her condition, and the leaders from the West District have also called to inquire. We need to address this situation promptly."
"Rest assured, Captain Song is temporarily unaffected and just needs some rest," Tangyu assured.
Director Jiang cast a deep glance at Tangyu before waving his hand and leading his team away.
"Momo, Feifei, go bathe Captain Song. Yaya, you know where to find a traditional Chinese medicine shop around here, right? Come with me to buy some medicine," Tangyu said.
Observing Tangyu’s earnest expression and his commanding presence, Lin Feifei was taken aback. Was this the Tangyu she knew? Why did he seem like a completely different person all of a sudden? His tone was somewhat unmistakable and compelling.
"Okay, Feifei, let’s go," Guo Momo said, taking Lin Feifei’s hand and heading upstairs.
Zhao Yaya was also full of excitement as she said, "I know, I know! I’ll take you there."
"Alright, get in the car," Tangyu nodded and drove Song Qingyu’s car, following Zhao Yaya’s directions. In less than five minutes, they arrived at the largest and oldest traditional Chinese medicine shop near Donglin University.
This shop, besides selling medicines, also practiced medicine, specifically, traditional Chinese medicine. In the area around Donglin University, it had some renown—a century-old establishment with a reputed senior doctor who had cured many patients, maintaining a successful business.
"Good brother is in there, yay! But why are there so many people crowded around? What happened?" Zhao Yaya suddenly pointed and asked, curious.
Tangyu had already noticed the situation. He saw that the shop labeled ’Century-old Traditional Chinese Medicine’ was surrounded by dozens, if not hundreds, of onlookers, creating quite a spectacle. It was clear that something had happened.
After parking the car, Tangyu and Zhao Yaya walked over to join the crowd. Zhao Yaya was excited by the lively scene, and they quickly squeezed their way inside. There, sitting at the entrance of the pharmacy, was a woman in her thirties, crying and telling her story while the onlookers pointed and talked among themselves.
On a small sickbed at the entrance of the pharmacy, a boy around six or seven years old lay there, with an old traditional Chinese medicine doctor with white hair and a young woman in her twenties examining him. Both of their faces were grave, indicating the boy’s condition was problematic for them.
Tangyu’s gaze swiftly took in the young woman as well, tall and possibly close to 1.8 meters, with the typical figure of a model. Her ponytail was refreshing, and her face, serious and focused, was particularly beautiful, possessing a certain charm others didn’t.
As for beauty, she was on par with Guo Momo, which mildly surprised Tangyu—how could he have encountered such an attractive woman at a pharmacy? In the crowd outside, many young men couldn’t take their eyes off her.
Listening to the discussions and the woman’s crying, Tangyu figured out the situation. The woman’s child had become ill, had come here for treatment, and after taking several traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions, problems ensued.
The young boy was in a dire state; initially, he had a stomachache and a high fever, but now he was half unconscious and his fever persisted, his eyes turned white, showing serious symptoms. This had left the old doctor, whose establishment had been around for a century, at a loss, unable to reduce the fever with several methods.
"Hey, isn’t that Liu Shiyi? What is she doing here?" Zhao Yaya suddenly said with curiosity.
"Liu Shiyi, do you know her?" Tangyu asked.
Zhao Yaya nodded, "Of course, I know her. She’s one of Donglin University’s top ten beauties, just as famous as sister Momo. I’ve seen her a few times. They say she’s a medical student with exceptional talent and is quite famous at Donglin University. I didn’t expect to see her here, yet it seems she’s run into some trouble."
Tangyu nodded and pulled Zhao Yaya with him as they walked into the shop. Their entry immediately drew the old doctor’s and Liu Shiyi’s attention.
"Shiyi sister, it’s me," Zhao Yaya greeted Liu Shiyi.
"Do you need something?" Liu Shiyi asked, clearly preoccupied and in no mood to deal with anything else.
Tangyu’s eyes also examined the boy and reached out to lift his eyelids when a sharp rebuke suddenly rang out, "What do you think you’re doing?" The old doctor was the one who spoke.
"Old sir, please do not be angry. My good brother is also a doctor," Zhao Yaya explained.
The old doctor’s gaze fell on Tangyu, showing a flicker of surprise, as did Liu Taoyu’s.
"Old sir, I mean no harm, I just want to have a look. I study traditional Chinese medicine too," Tangyu said.
The old doctor then nodded.
The woman, seeing someone else getting involved, suddenly grew excited and grabbed Tangyu, "Doctor, you must help my son. This unscrupulous clinic has done this to him. If anything happens to my boy, I won’t want to live either."
"Sister, please don’t get agitated. We’re trying to find a solution," Liu Shiyu said.
"Looking for a solution, what kind of solution? It’s been so long and yet there’s no solution. If it truly won’t work, please quickly send my son to Donglin Hospital for emergency treatment. As long as you’re willing to pay, my son will surely be alright," the woman said excitedly, even giving Liu Shiyu an almost fierce look.
Liu Shiyu was taken aback, unsure of what to do. The situation didn’t seem dire, but yet it was indeed distressing. Sending the boy to Donglin Hospital was an option, but as a doctor, inheriting a century-old medical practice, she naturally didn’t want to give up so quickly.
Liu Shiyu looked to the old doctor. The old doctor seemed downcast, never having encountered such a problem in all the years he had carried on the family practice. If not handled correctly, the entire reputation of the establishment could be tarnished.
For him, at his age, reputation was worth more than life itself.
"Sister, it’s not that serious. Rest assured, your son will be fine. He’s just been poisoned," Tangyu suddenly said.
"Poisoned? How is that possible? How could my son be poisoned?" the woman asked, agitated.
The old doctor and Liu Shiyu were momentarily stunned too, glancing at Tangyu with surprise. They hadn’t determined the boy to be poisoned. How could this young man be so sure?
