The Tree-man Clan is a very special race.

What’s special about them?

Firstly, unlike humans, they don’t reproduce sexually; they reproduce asexually like plants in nature, through means such as branching and seeding. However, reproduction requires certain environmental conditions, so although their population is not small, it doesn’t grow increasingly larger like humans. Once a certain number is reached, the population of the Tree-man Clan stops growing, preventing their species from developing further.

Secondly, the Tree-man Clan has existed for an extraordinarily long time. It’s said they might be one of the oldest life forms in the entire source realm. While most ancient life forms have become extinct in modern times, the Tree-man Clan has survived due to their reproduction methods and survival requirements. Even after facing extinction, new Tree-man Clan life can naturally emerge from nature, a fact which many races envy.

Furthermore, individual members of the Tree-man Clan are generally quite powerful, certainly stronger than the average human. They don’t require training; they simply need to survive, and their power continues to grow. The longer they live, the stronger they become. Consequently, some ancient beings within the Tree-man Clan, who have lived for hundreds or thousands of years, possess strength comparable to, or even surpassing, sages, which is truly formidable. Moreover, being a long-lived species, they basically do not die of old age, making them quite enviable in this regard as well.

Yet, despite all this, the overall strength of the Tree-man Clan does not rank in the top five in the source realm. It’s even uncertain whether they would be in the top ten.

Why is that?

The reason is simple: Their weaknesses are too obvious.

The Tree-man Clan has two critical weaknesses that cannot be overlooked.

First: The older they get, the larger they become, rendering those at the sage level or beyond nearly immobile, making agile combat even more out of the question.

Second: They have extremely low resistance to fire-based attacks. Even a sage-level ancient tree-man can suffer significant injuries from fire element magic attacks by magicians at the Crystal ranking (Lv.7) or Amber ranking (Lv.8).

As a result, although members of the Tree-man Clan are generally not weak, opponents using targeted methods can defeat them even if they are at a lower level.

Moreover, with the Abyss being the greatest enemy in the source realm and being a fiery plane, the Abyss Demon Fire is one of the most terrifying fire attributes in the world. When facing the Abyss, the Tree-men are exceedingly vulnerable, leading to a significant presence in the source realm but little recognition and a middling status, which is quite embarrassing.

Nonetheless, there are aspects of the Tree-man Clan that the entire source realm holds in high regard.

They have the ability to artificially cultivate or grow plants with extraordinary properties.

The most renowned extraordinary plant of the Tree-man Clan is an ancient tree said to have been cultivated for tens of thousands of years, known as the Tree of Life.

The Tree of Life has three major characteristics.

First: It can bear a fruit called the Wisdom Fruit, which, when eaten, can enhance the intelligence of beings in the source realm, allowing even dim-witted beings to possess considerable intellect.

Second: The branches of the Tree of Life are one of the highest quality materials for crafting magic wands and rods. For example, the scepter used by Naisa earlier had a branch of the Tree of Life as its core.

Third: The Tree of Life itself possesses intelligence similar to a magical creature, and can be commanded by the Tree-man Clan to confront enemies. Its power is astounding, far exceeding ordinary sage-level beings.

For these reasons, the Tree of Life is revered as the sacred tree of the Tree-man Clan and considered the clan’s greatest treasure.

The Sambia is also one of the extraordinary plants cultivated by the Tree-man Clan.

Its history can be traced back to when the Tree-man Clan first appeared in the source realm. However, due to the extremely high difficulty of cultivation and maintenance, coupled with the shockingly high cost, even within the Tree-man Clan, there are not many Sambia trees. Throughout the entire source realm, it’s likely that their number does not exceed five.
