Chapter 350: Hunter and Hunted ( 350 )

Meanwhile.

Demon Nation, Royal Palace.

A cold silence filled the massive throne hall.

The Demon King sat slouched on his obsidian throne, one fist pressed against his cheek, crimson eyes narrowed with boredom turning into irritation. The air around him pulsed with heavy pressure that made even the pillars groan.

He stared at the demon girl kneeling before him.

"So tell me, Garcia." His voice echoed like a slow-burning flame. "Have you identified the human who single-handedly defeated the three elite summoners I sent to create chaos in Macia town?"

Garcia rose slightly, no longer kneeling formally. She stood with one hip cocked, twirling her massive scythe lazily with one hand, dark aura trailing behind it like smoke. A confident smirk curled on her lips.

"Yes, Your Majesty," she said. "The human is a black-haired male. Name: Hazekaya Hazuki. Rank B+."

The Demon King’s eyes twitched.

Black hair? Don’t tell me he’s another one summoned from the other world...No..there no way since i know which country summon who and who.

His gaze sharpened.

"A Rank B+ human?" His voice dropped, dangerous. "You expect me to believe that a mere B+ adventurer, who walks alone and has no party, managed to defeat three of my summoners?"

The hall darkened.

The Demon King’s aura erupted.

A crushing, suffocating wave of demonic power slammed across the throne room. The floor cracked. Torches dimmed. Even the armored guards lining the walls trembled violently.

Garcia dropped to one knee again, sweat dripping down her forehead.

"Y... yes, Your Majesty... that is the information I was able to confirm..."

The Demon King rose slightly from his throne.

"You are telling me," he growled, "that he defeated all three of the best summoners of this generation, summoners who rival Rank A human parties, and then proceeded to shut down both rift gates at the east and west Macia gates, alone?"

Garcia swallowed. Hard.

"Y... yes... Your Majesty..."

Silence.

A long, chilling silence.

Then the Demon King slowly sat back, expression hardening.

Inside his mind:

Impossible. That shouldn’t be possible.

The only one who could close gates alone... was that man.

But I killed him. I sealed him myself. A thousand years ago.

And every trace of his research, every forbidden magic he created, destroyed.

No one in this world should be capable of such magic anymore.

His fingers drummed on the armrest.

So how...?

His eyes narrowed dangerously.

Who is this human?

And why does he possess power that should no longer exist?

"Garcia."

"Yes, Your Majesty?"

The Demon King’s eyes burned crimson.

"Assemble a team. I want you to eliminate this human."

His voice dropped to a cold growl.

"Do not underestimate him. You are stronger than those three fools I sent, but do not allow arrogance to blind you. Be serious. Use your full power from the start. No playing around."

Garcia placed a fist over her chest and bowed.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"If you succeed," the Demon King continued, "you will become the 14th Commander of my army."

A thin smirk spread across Garcia’s lips.

"Your Majesty honors me. I will gather the best—our strongest—and crush this human for you."

"Good. Go. Track him down. Do not hesitate."

"As you command, Your Majesty."

With a confident sway in her step, Garcia turned and exited the throne room, dark aura dancing behind her like black flame.

The doors closed.

And the Demon King leaned back into his throne again, tapping his finger slowly against the armrest.

"I do not believe this human is related to him..."

His eyes narrowed dangerously.

"But if he truly possesses talent that rivals Ridan... then I want him erased before he grows."

He turned toward his advisor.

"Assemble my generals. Tell them I have summoned them for a serious meeting."

"As you command, Your Majesty."

"And one more thing," the Demon King added. His voice shifted into something much darker.

"Send our best shadow unit. Have them follow Garcia’s team from behind. If Garcia’s squad is somehow defeated by this human... then the shadows are to collect every detail about him."

He tapped the throne lightly.

"His skills. His magic. His power. Everything."

The advisor bowed deeply.

"It will be done, Your Majesty."

The Demon King closed his eyes.

"A human capable of stopping rift gates alone... I refuse to let such a variable roam free."

Meanwhile.

"Achooooo!!!"

A thick noodle launched out of Hazuki’s nose like a cursed arrow and splatted onto the edge of his bowl.

"EWWWWW!!! DISGUSTING!!!" Ridan screeched, freezing mid-bite with a tiny spoon in his hand. "Eat properly, dumbass!!"

Hazuki grabbed tissues, panicking. "Shut up! I’m sure this is your stupid fault! You probably used some hidden magic to make my nose cold so you could steal my soup!"

"Hah!? Then order more, idiot!" Ridan jabbed a finger at the bowl. "Damn! And now the noodle is...NO NO NO..DON’T—!!!"

Hazuki accidentally sniffed.

The noodle slid back in... then fell into the soup.

Plop.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

Ridan exploded. "YOU DISGUSTING HUMAN!!! NOW IT’S CONTAMINATED!! ORDER A NEW ONE!! THAT SOUP IS DEAD TO ME!!"

"Yeah yeah, sorry, my bad..."

"I DON’T CARE!! ORDER!! A!! NEW!! ONE!!" Ridan slammed his puffball hands on the table like a tiny angry mafia boss.

Hazuki raised his hands. "Alright, alright! Sheesh!"

"Gihh!! Can this thousand-year spirit enjoy his food in peace for once!?"

"Chill, man... it’s not my fault."

"I DON’T CARE!! ORDER A NEW BOWL!!!"

"Fiiiine..." Hazuki sighed and waved at the owner.

The dwarf owner shouted back from the kitchen, "Another large soup for the crazy human and his imagination friend?"

Hazuki’s eye twitched, but he ignored it and lifted his tea instead.

Ridan plopped down on his shoulder, and with a soft pop, a tiny tea glass materialized in his puffball hand.

Both of them sipped at the same time like it was perfectly normal.

Hazuki let out a long breath. "So, Ridan."

"Huh?" Ridan glanced at him while sipping tea delicately.

"Which one of the four herbs left should we go for first?"

Ridan floated slightly, rubbing his chin with his stubby hand as if deep in thought.

"Well... since we already got three, Chusi Flower from the poison swamp, Hidun Grass, and Fire Grun from the volcano..."

He grinned. "How about we go for Icy Leaf next?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Hazuki raised a brow. "Icy Leaf...?"

"Yup. But you’ll need a good enchanted jacket to withstand the cold."

Hazuki side-glanced at him. "Is it expensive?"

"Maybe." Ridan shrugged.

Hazuki rubbed his chin. "Nah... you’re probably exaggerating. There’s no way the place is that cold. I’ll just buy a regular jacket, and you can use fire magic to warm me up, right?"

Ridan smirked.

"Yeah yeah... I’m just exaggerating."

Inside his mind:

Ehehehehe... exaggerate huh...

I can’t wait to see this dumbass freeze his soul out. Ahahahaha...
