Journey to the West: Treasure Vase of the Great Dao-Chapter 583 - 322 Peeking_2
After Arthur spoke these words, the entire world seemed to come alive. Because of the Old Monk's reminder, the world itself became aware of the situation and started to feel enraged. Countless rules began to riot, and the whole world began to tremble.
Watching this scene unfold, the Old Monk was also astonished. The world's attention on Arthur exceeded his expectations. It seemed that the Will of the World was betting all its treasures on Arthur, and it was for this reason that the deceptive information was known so swiftly.
In the Land of Death, Lu Yu lightly pointed to the sky. The aura of destiny and time emerged, merging with the furious Will of the World, causing Heaven's Secret to plunge into chaos. The traces of destiny and the existence of the Will of the World were thoroughly obscured.
"There's no need to be too angry; doing so will only startle the snake." Lu Yu murmured softly, his voice barely audible. But as he finished speaking, the world's uproar began to subside. Such a scene, if witnessed by the gods, would probably make their eyeballs drop with shock. It was the Will of the World after all, and it had been calmed by the words of one person, as unbelievable as a myth.
The fury of the Will of the World came swiftly and departed just as quickly. Many had not even had the chance to react before Lu Yu had soothed it, leaving many Divine Spirits bewildered, unsure why the immature Will of the World had undergone such an event.
As they attempted to discover the reason, they found that the entire world seemed covered by a thin veil; what they could once observe had now become blurred and they ended up with nothing.
Consequently, the Divine Spirits became even more panicked. They always felt that something significant must have occurred in places unknown to them; otherwise, the Will of the World would not have become so enraged. This sense of ignorance made these high and mighty Divine Spirits feel suffocated, and they also became aware of the changes in the world.
A wave that would sweep across the world was about to arrive, and even Divine Spirits were at risk of falling. Numerous Divine Spirits harbored such thoughts, a warning from deep within their souls.
Having lived through lengthy eons, many Divine Spirits no longer possessed their initial courage. Their long lives, in turn, made them unable to face death directly. Thus, panic and unrest spread among the gods, and they desperately sought guidance.
In this situation, the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, both powerful and experienced among the gods, was pushed forward once again. All the gods hoped to borrow the vision of this mighty Divine Spirit to glimpse the future and destiny.
After all, among all present Divine Spirits, the God of Knowledge and Wisdom was the most veteran and had the deepest understanding of destiny.
Unable to refuse the requests of others, the God of Knowledge and Wisdom could only attempt to observe destiny again. His eyes emitted a brilliant glow, and countless followers within the divine kingdom began to chant his divine name loudly, while illusory books opened above his head.
At that moment, his eyes broke through the barriers, piercing the veil about to see the traces of destiny, but a turbulent, vast river suddenly appeared before him.
He could swear, having lived so many years, he had never seen such a vast river. The river roared, seemingly with fish and shrimp swimming within, but as his gaze reached down, he realized they were not fish or shrimp, but sentient beings; some were merely ordinary humans, while others were powerful entities.
Even the God of Knowledge and Wisdom saw the silhouettes of Divine Spirits in it; he was completely stunned by this scene and muttered to himself, "This is the River of Destiny."
And it was not just the river of destiny of this world, but a collective of the destinies of all Divine Spirits in the universe. It was so broad, so vast, and so mysterious, encompassing everything of all beings in the universe.
The God of Knowledge and Wisdom was spellbound; he stared unblinkingly at every passing sentient being, intoxicated by the feeling, unwilling to leave.

The gods surrounding the God of Knowledge and Wisdom suddenly discovered a terrifying aura suddenly emanating from this ancient Divine Spirit. Even standing beside him, one could feel the vast and boundless power radiating from him.
"What on earth did he see?" a Divine Spirit asked.
"I sensed the breath of destiny, but it was far more powerful than anything I've sensed before. What lies hidden behind that veil?"
However, some Divine Spirits noticed that over time, the God of Knowledge and Wisdom started to exude a strange feeling, as if he was becoming one with the entire world.
"This is bad, if this continues, he will be devoured by the Will of the World," exclaimed a Divine Spirit.
This phenomenon is known as transforming into the Dao in the Three Realms and as being devoured by the Will of the World in this realm. Although the names differ, the meaning is the same: it represents the phenomenon of merging with the universe due to contact with an overwhelming force.
By now, they were even more curious about what this ancient Divine Spirit had observed that led to such a legendary phenomenon.
Many Divine Spirits tried to awaken the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, only to find it futile. Those already being devoured by the Will of the World are difficult to awaken through external force.
By then, the God of Knowledge and Wisdom was in grave danger. As he observed more of the illusory images of time and the River of Destiny, his Divine Power was quickly draining. His eyes, unable to bear the strain, had gone completely blind, and golden Divine Blood flowed from them. His body was about to start collapsing.
Just at that moment, a figure emerged in the river, standing upon the tumultuous waters, with a Treasure Vase suspended above his head emitting a rainbow of lights and wearing a green robe—it was none other than Lu Yu.
After sensing the God of Knowledge and Wisdom's scrutiny, Lu Yu could not help but intervene; after all, this Divine Spirit was a rare being in this world who bore goodwill towards all living creatures, and even the Will of the World did not wish for him to perish.
Thus, Lu Yu intervened, using only an illusory form. Through the Great Dao's Treasure Vase, he projected his Soul onto the surface of the river, slowly walking beside the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, and gently said, "Seeing this much should be sufficient."
His voice arose beside the ear of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, pulling him from his dark obsession. Looking up, his now-blind eyes could not see Lu Yu's presence, feeling only the radiant spectral lights surrounding him. He reached out to touch, but grasped nothing.
Suddenly, a force struck the top of his head—a slap from someone, and his consciousness plummeted from its lofty height, leaving the illusion of time and the River of Destiny, returning to his Divine Body.
Thus, the gathered gods were astonished to find, miraculously, the God of Knowledge and Wisdom had survived, despite being on the brink of being devoured by the Will of the World. Though his Divine Power was exhaustively depleted and his eyes were blind, he had successfully escaped the crisis, a first of its kind in history.
"Your Majesty, what did you see?" the Divine Spirits asked eagerly, not even considering the injuries of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom.
"I saw a terrifying destiny, yet failed to find ours. It was a river so wide it had no boundaries, where the destinies of all living beings converge. I tried to find our destiny among them but to no avail. Had it not been for the Mysterious Figure's intervention, I might have been completely swallowed by the river and the Will of the World," the God of Knowledge and Wisdom said breathlessly.
The encounter had exhausted him so greatly, making this powerfully Divine Spirit feel waves of weakness. He couldn't remember the last time he felt this weak; it had been so long that his memory was beginning to blur.
Yet, who was that last Mysterious Figure? He seemed to possess a power that transcended this world, a power not evil but innately balanced and peaceful, far more potent than his own Divine Power, fueling the Divine Spirit's curiosity.
