Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect-Chapter 310: Who the Hell Can Stop Him?
"Sir? Sir, wake up..."
A voice sounded by his ear, and Lü Yang opened his eyes. He was met with the sight of a stunningly beautiful woman in a red dress, a vermilion dot gracing the space between her brows.
He glanced around.
He saw beaded curtains and embroidered tapestries, painted beams and carved eaves. Light shimmered on vermilion doors and floors paved with gold, while the windows of jade gleamed as if the palace itself were carved from the precious stone. A sweet fragrance filled the air, intoxicating Lü Yang and enchanting his senses.
The next moment, however, foreign memories surfaced in his mind:
"The Primal Daoist was at the Final-phase of Qi Refining and went into seclusion to break through to Foundation Establishment. Tragically, he was plotted against by the Stain Sect. They found his secluded retreat and shattered his True Qi’s foundation."
"As a result, he was forced to use Fourth Grade True Qi to establish his foundation, sealing off any hope for future advancement."
"The Primal Daoist sought the Void Certificate. While this act would certainly benefit Heaven and Earth, it was likely also because all hope of advancing on the proper path was lost to him..."
"This was his first tribulation!"
Lü Yang finally came to his senses and surveyed his surroundings. His current predicament was identical to that of the Primal Daoist, right down to the information he now possessed.
’So this is No Heaven...’
Lü Yang was inwardly shocked. If he weren’t currently controlling this body with his Puppet ability, he likely would have never been able to distinguish truth from illusion within No Heaven.
Everything he perceived—the sights, the sounds, the fragrant air, even his own body—felt completely real. So did his cultivation. He was no longer at the Mid-phase of Foundation Establishment, but at the Final-phase of Qi Refining. Clearly, No Heaven required him to overcome this challenge in the role of the Primal Daoist.
Any abilities beyond those of that identity were forbidden.
’...Given time, No Heaven will inevitably expand, becoming a Fruit that cultivators across the world will flock to. Not even a Perfected Lord could stop it!’
Lü Yang instantly recognized the terrifying potential of No Heaven.
This was only the first tribulation, so he was limited to the role of a Primal Daoist at the Final-phase of Qi Refining. But over time, the Primal Daoist’s cultivation would advance!
’And once the Primal Daoist’s cultivation surpasses that of the challenger, the challenger will be able to experience a higher realm of cultivation ahead of time!’
More importantly, there was Seeking Gold!
’The Primal Daoist eventually attempted Seeking Gold. If that is also part of the tribulation, it would give a Foundation-Stage Cultivator a chance to run a simulation of the process!’
That alone was enough to attract every Foundation-Stage Cultivator.
Furthermore, according to the Primal Daoist, one could obtain a corresponding Ability for every tribulation passed within No Heaven—an even greater temptation.
Besides, you couldn’t die in No Heaven.
’No Heaven is an illusory Fruit. One’s physical body cannot enter. Neither can one’s soul or spiritual perception. The only thing that can enter is one’s consciousness.’
Thus, even if a cultivator failed their tribulation and died within No Heaven, the worst that would happen was a few days of listlessness and having a portion of their Merit and Fortune siphoned away. Their life would not be in danger. When one weighed the pros and cons, the rewards of No Heaven far outweighed the risks. How could one not be tempted?
Of course, it wasn’t without its drawbacks.
The flow of time within No Heaven was identical to that of the outside world. After a cultivator entered, their physical body would be left completely defenseless.
’But as long as I only enter with a body controlled by my Puppet ability, I can simply sever the connection when necessary to avoid this problem.’
With that thought, Lü Yang got out of bed, glancing at the woman beside him. There was no memory of her in the Primal Daoist’s mind.
In fact, he had no memory of this place at all.
According to the memories, the Primal Daoist had been in seclusion preparing for Foundation Establishment when he suffered a cultivation deviation. The next thing he knew, he had woken up here.
The Primal Daoist may not have recognized this place, but Lü Yang did.
’The Primal Daoist’s True Qi was supposed to form a Void Profound Qi Sea Dao Foundation. But thanks to the Stain Sect’s plot, he ended up with a mere Qi Sea Dao Foundation instead.’
How could that be?
’Of all the methods in the Stain Sect’s arsenal, what could possibly cause a Third Grade True Qi to be degraded, to the point where even the resulting Dao Foundation was flawed and incomplete?’
’The *Heaven-Mending Skill*!’
Lü Yang knew this Third-Grade Foundation Method of the Stain Sect like the back of his hand. With his rich practical experience, he naturally recognized it at a glance.
’The Array of Heaven and Earth, Yin and Yang, Dragon and Tiger. It comes from the *Heaven-Mending Skill* and is jointly cast by one hundred and eight Celestial Maidens. Each holds a pipa or guqin, playing music and making merry until the target loses themselves to passion and desire, causing their Qi Grade to plummet...’
This was a truly Upper Grade Array.
Once deployed, in addition to the one hundred and eight Celestial Maidens, there was a host and a victim. In essence, the host of the array plundered the one trapped within it.
The result was that the victim’s Qi Grade would plummet.
Meanwhile, the host reaped all the benefits, their own Qi Grade increasing dramatically.
Fortunately, Lü Yang was quite familiar with this array.
At this thought, Lü Yang surveyed his surroundings again. He was in what could only be described as a city of women. Throngs of graceful ladies moved through the streets, each beautiful in her own unique way.
Lü Yang knew, however, that this was merely an illusion.
Within the Array of Heaven and Earth, Yin and Yang, Dragon and Tiger, only the women were real. Everything else was a facade, an illusion designed to bewitch the senses.
If the array were left to run its natural course, Lü Yang would meet countless beautiful soulmates in this city. He would live through an intricate, heart-wrenching story with each one, pledging his life to them, until he gradually sank into depravity, forgot his past, and became a complete degenerate.
There were generally three ways to break this array.
First, one could "pass through a field of flowers without a single petal sticking to one’s clothes." As long as you guarded your Spiritual Essence and maintained your chastity, you would remain unaffected by the array’s illusion and could walk away freely.
Second, you could kill your way out.
With a heart of iron, you could start a slaughter, carving a bloody path through your enemies until the array’s very foundation collapsed.
However, Lü Yang chose neither of these options. After all, he was currently inhabiting the role of the Primal Daoist, which meant many of his own abilities were unusable.
The *Heaven-Mending Skill*, for example.
The best way to deal with this kind of array was the *Heaven-Mending Skill*. If Lü Yang could use it, he could shatter a mere array like this in an instant.
However, under the rules of No Heaven, he was forbidden from using it.
By the same token, both maintaining his mental fortitude within the Array of Heaven and Earth, Yin and Yang, Dragon and Tiger, and brutally fighting his way out were quite difficult for him in his current state.
So, he could only choose the third option.
’In that case, I have no choice but to bite the bullet and go all in!’
At this thought, Lü Yang directly activated a strengthened state and charged brazenly into the array, startling the Celestial Maidens who were maintaining it.
But the Celestial Maidens quickly regained their composure.
’He’s courting death!’
After all, there were one hundred and eight of them, empowered by the array and attacking in waves. What kind of person below the Foundation Establishment realm could possibly withstand their assault?
Soon, however, they realized something was very wrong.
Lü Yang was actually growing stronger the more he fought!
One, two, ten, twenty... no matter how many Celestial Maidens came at him, he defeated them with ease!
Eventually, the Celestial Maidens who remained conscious looked at Lü Yang and no longer dared to advance.
In their eyes, Lü Yang was no longer prey. He was a monstrous beast! Everywhere he went, miserable screams echoed without end!
Who the hell could stop him?
Lü Yang, on the other hand, was perfectly calm, his eyes filled with a hint of contempt. "Is that all?"
’I wasn’t even trying, and you’ve all gone down already?’
Some tribulation this was. In Lü Yang’s opinion, there was only one reason the Primal Daoist had failed here, getting beaten until his Qi Grade dropped:
He was just too weak!
