Jyera World Apocalypse-Chapter 56: Unstoppable

As Rick fed Fulmen and checked on the direwolf’s well-being, he stopped eating, and his fur stood on end as he growled at the sky...

At the same time, Rick felt a slight tremor throughout the base, followed by several screams that his heightened senses picked up...

His system also sent several messages, informing him that a threat had invaded his base. Not only that, but Pineview Base’s administration system sent an alert informing him that over thirty people had died in a single instant...

Along with the warnings that shocked Rick, what followed was a powerful voice that, despite being spoken in a low tone, reached the ears of everyone inside Pineview Base:

"Rick, I know you’re there. Come out and face me, or I’ll kill everyone in this place!"

Rick’s mind completely ignored the threat as he scanned the names of the victims, worried that someone from his family or friends might be among the dead... Only after checking and confirming that they were okay could he breathe a sigh of relief. He then opened the Base System, checking the severity of the damage to the structures...

Leaving Fulmen behind, Rick calmly walked out of the barn and looked up at the sky. His vision revealed a man nearly two meters tall with a faint golden complexion. His long, blond hair floated motionless in the air, unaffected by the wind. He had golden eyes and wore a military uniform. The man emitted a terrifying aura, pressing down on Rick just by looking at him...

"ROARRRRR"

Before Rick could do anything, a giant, red-haired Joe, glowing with a violent red aura, leaped from the ground, causing an even stronger tremor in the base. With the force of a single leap, he flew at high speed toward the golden man... Joe’s red aura was so furious and intimidating that for a moment it almost overshadowed the aura of the golden man in the sky...

But just as Joe’s body was about to reach the golden man, he simply pointed his hand at Joe, causing the giant to disappear in a mysterious silver flash of light. Only Rick and a few familiar with his Universal Force knew what kind of power the man used...

"Joe was probably teleported somewhere far from here. I hope he’s okay..." Rick thought as he quickly scanned the system’s new announcement...

[Escape the threat that has invaded Pineview Base]

Rick only read the beginning of the system’s mission; it was a mission for him to escape. But could he escape from such a level 4, or maybe even level 5, creature? And if he did, what would the cost be? Let everyone at Pineview Base die?

Rick jumped from the barn area and landed on the roof of a three-story house. From above, he saw the terrible damage this man had caused. He seemed to have used one of the abilities he’d seen in the system, one that could throw a space blade without the use of weapons, but Rick doubted he could cut a city in half the way he did...

His thoughts wandered to the reason such a person was after him. Was it because of the message? Or had they grown tired of sending drones and androids and finally sent a human? That golden skin proves he’s not human...

Rick’s eyes swept the entrance to the clinic, where several hunters and villagers were trying to restrain his sister. He saw Maya healing the wounded, occasionally glancing up at the man in the sky. Not far away, his mother had also emerged from her house and was struggling to understand what was happening...

Rick took a deep breath, knowing there would be no second chances this time... In this second life, just saving his mother and his friend, and meeting Maya, was worth it...

He only hoped this man would keep his promise not to hurt anyone else if he faced him...

With a determined look, his familiar axe appeared in his hands, and he looked at the three special tickets he had, wondering how he could use them... freeweɓnovel-cøm

"I AM RICK, WHO ARE YOU? AND WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING OUR RACE?"

After the scream, the eyes of everyone at the base turned to Rick on the roof. The enemy finally looked at him, too...

The man pointed a single hand at Rick, just as he had done with Joe. And Rick reappeared before him, being strangled by the neck in front of everyone at Pineview Base. It all happened so fast that Rick barely had time to react, but as soon as he appeared in front of the man and had his neck grabbed, Rick disappeared using Blink and appeared behind the man. He then attacked, screaming with all his strength, using his axe.

"AHHH!"

But before the axe could touch the man, it disappeared from Rick’s hands, appearing in his left hand. And Rick was teleported back to the same hand that had grabbed his neck the first time.

This time, much more force was used, and Rick not only lost access to his Universal Force, but he was also beginning to lose consciousness due to being strangled. Just like when he fought the drones, everything began to move in slow motion again...

Looking around, all he saw were the survivors trying to hold Maya back, who was screaming and trying to come to his aid. His sister had broken free from those who had held her from the beginning and was trying to run toward him. His mother had both hands over her mouth as she watched with tears in her eyes. And Fulmen, covered in chaotic red energy, now with completely red fur, leaped toward the sky menacingly...

Before Fulmen could reach them, he disappeared just as Joe had, nowhere to be seen. Several arrows and spears were hurled at the enemy with pinpoint accuracy in an attempt by the hunters to save him from the golden man’s clutches, but they too disappeared before they even got very close.

Realizing what was about to happen, Rick turned his head toward Rhayra, who was running toward him with a tear-stained face, and his lips moved quickly. It was fast, but his sister understood her brother’s final words, and instead of running toward him, she changed direction, running toward their mother. Furthermore, due to desperation and tension, Rhayra finally learned a new ability from her Universal Force; her body became a blur, running at inhuman speeds in a certain direction from the Base.

Rick gave one last order to the system before hearing the loud sound of his neck breaking, and the world he watched in slow motion finally faded to black...

Thanatos was still arrogant enough not to exchange a single word with the most problematic survivor on the extermination list. The fact that he could still teleport freely even when he was so close to Thanatos was the final proof that Rick was not only a problem because of his knowledge, but someone who could become a threat to his race after what they did in this world.

"Crack"

Thanatos broke his neck, but he wasn’t satisfied yet. His hand pierced his chest the same way he had with Azaya and Charles, destroying his heart and extracting the crystal from his chest. He also collected the bracelet on his wrist, because strangely, he couldn’t see the dimension within it...

As soon as he finished Rick off, there was a small explosion in his pocket dimension, before some basic survival items and mutant crystals floated out. Thanatos saw nothing of value in the pocket dimension and let them all fall from the sky along with the corpse on the ground of that village...

Before teleporting and heading to the Capital, Thanatos saw a red meteor fall from the sky and hit a nearby forest, causing a terrible impact that was felt for miles...

That man had been the other surprise he encountered in this small village... But Thanatos knew how to deal with berserkers without wasting a single breath, and sent him almost out of the atmosphere, letting Jyera’s gravity do all the work...

As soon as Thanatos was gone, Fulmen’s body also fell from the sky, causing another tremor in the vicinity of Pineview Base... But few people went to check on Joe and Fulmen; most of them were now silently shedding tears in front of Rick’s corpse, as they watched the walls and several damaged houses of Pineview Base miraculously repair themselves after their destruction... Almost as if their leader had performed one last miracle for them before leaving...
