Chapter 30 -30 Space Gate

“Which design would be the best?” Muria was hesitating, looking at two castle models in her hands.

Three seconds later, Muria decided: “I won’t choose. Let both castles be built. That should be no problem, right?”

“At your command, Prince Mureya.” Responded the Cloud Giant leaders in unison, after hearing Muria’s order and exchanging glances among themselves.

Thus, the vigorous construction of the castle began. The majority work was done by the Cloud Giants, the most numerous, as the main force. The Storm Giants were in the middle, commanding, while the Mountain Giants focused on producing the building material for the castle – the White Jade Stone.

As for the Tidal Giants, they were tasked by Muria to explore the depths of the sea, to collect treasures from the ocean that would serve as decorations for Muria’s future castle.

On the very first day of the castle construction, Muria received the census data provided by the Storm Giants.

Currently there are 6,185 Cloud Giants who have come to Taiji Island with Muria. Among them, there are 1,876 adult male Cloud Giants, 1,882 female Cloud Giants and the most are young Cloud Giants, 2,427 boys and girls combined.

His group also included 352 Mountain Giants and 1,268 Tidal Giants, averaging Golden stage three and four in strength. The reason for the relative scarcity of these two types of Giants compared to Cloud Giants is because they mostly live alone and very rarely live together.

As for the Storm Giants, they are the most powerful among the four types of giants under Muria’s rule, but they are also the scarcest, with only 97 of them. But each one boasts powerful strength, reaching Golden Rank Five and when fully empowered, they can independently trigger a small storm.

The large number of Cloud Giants, over six thousand, is due to three very important reasons. First off is the talent of Cloud Giants, the flying magic ability, thus there is little restrictions on terrain for them.

The second reason is the social structure of Cloud Giants. They live together as a family unit, but sometimes ten or twenty Cloud Giants will live together.

The third reason is that the Cloud Giants belong to the Lawful Good Alignment and they produce a high number of mages, sorcerers, and priests, with at least one out of every ten Cloud Giants being a magic specialist, thus forming a massive information network among the Cloud Giants.

These three factors have led to an astonishing number of Cloud Giants congregating around Muria.

It’s worth mentioning that news of Muria declaring independence and welcoming Giants to pledge allegiance has already spread out. Thus, an astonishing number of Cloud Giants are currently heading towards Titan Islands, where Muria is located.

In fact, not just Cloud Giants but many Storm Giants, Mountain Giants, and Tidal Giants who received the news are also converging towards Taiji Island where Muria is located.

However, not only these four types of Giants but also other types of Giants are trying to cross the Thunderstorm Ocean to reach Titan Islands. The temptation to exceed their life limits is too strong.

…Giant trees, one hundred meters high, were being felled one by one by Cloud Giants to clear plenty of open land for construction. Then, Mountain Giants took responsibility for leveling and compacting the uneven ground, the division of labor was clear.

After that, the Cloud Giants, using White Jade Stones supplied by Mountain Giants, began constructing the two castles on the flattened land.

As for the sites chosen for the two castles, Muria imagined the entire Taiji Island as the “Yin-Yang” diagram, with the sites for the two castles at the spots correlating to Yin and Yang. However, none of the Giants could understand the intentions behind Muria’s site selection-they were simply not able to comprehend it.

With an ample workforce full of energy, the Cloud Giants, from the day Muria issued their command, started building the castle day and night. Their speedy construction caused most Mountain Giants, who supplied the White Jade Stone to feel pressured and exhausted due to the stress and hard work.

As the speed of Mountain Giants supplying construction materials couldn’t keep up with the rate the Cloud Giants were using, the Cloud Giant leaders concluded that while building the castles, they would also start decorating and engraving at the same time in order to slow down the usage of White Jade Stones, granting the Mountain Giants a small breathing space.

The Cloud Giants carved exquisite patterns and relief paintings depicting Titan folklore stories from the Erathia Continent, at every corner of the castle, and using magic crystals and various gemstones that the Tidal Giants dredged up from the sea bottom as decorations, adding a luxurious touch to the budding castle.

The Tidal Giants didn’t just find magic crystals and colorful ores at the ocean’s depths but also colorful corals of various shapes and size, as well as giant pearls, some as big as a fist while others reached several meters in diameter, all shining with radiant spirit light.

Upon first seeing these enormous pearls, even Muria raised an eyebrow in surprise. Despite being seen at noon, when the sunlight was at its strongest, the glow they emitted was exceptionally bright. A pearl of this size could easily fetch a city’s price back in her world.

“If any of you dare to cause disorder again, I won’t mind teaching you what it’s like to be a dragon with thunder every day!” Muria darkly warned the six young dragons. Golden Arc Light began to dance about her, unseen Windblades flying out with her every breath.

Dragons were known to be greedy, and Muria was fully aware of this. Hence, when the Tidal Giant mined gold and silver ores from the seabed and the Cloud Giant refined them, Muria gave each of the young dragons gold equal to their body weight, hoping to slightly satisfy their boundless greed.

But Muria had underestimated the allure of treasure to dragons. For these shining baubles, these young dragons could temporarily abandon their dragon pride and become thieves on the construction site, gouging out crystals, gemstones, gold, and silver that had already been embedded in the walls.

After receiving numerous reports from the Cloud Giant of the young dragons’ thievery, Muria, in a fit of rage, came to their temporary nest, ready to “educate” them properly.

This was an underground cave, excavated by the young dragons, filled with a faint smell of sulfur. The cave had been scorched by the breath of the young dragons and was very dry, devoid of any moisture.

Six young dragons had together dug a huge cave underground, then separately excavated their private nests based on it. These young dragons now had their private treasures, it’s impossible for them to live together anymore.

“Muria, I didn’t steal…” The young dragon Albert, who was counting the spoils he obtained the previous night, saw the black-haired, golden-eyed boy who came into the “hall”. The entire dragon became scared and quickly lay down on the ground, trying to cover up something.

“So, what is this?” The cave of young dragon Albert was right across the entrance of the “hall”, so Muria walked straight in, bent down and picked up a crystal-clear sky blue diamond-shaped crystal that had fallen in a corner.

“Albert, can you explain what this is?” The black-haired boy played with the diamond-shaped crystal, which was as large as his head, and questioned the fierce dragon lying in front of him.

“This…” The young dragon looked awkwardly at the diamond-shaped crystal in Muria’s hand, which was now human form. The sky blue crystal emitted a radiant spirit light that made dragons dizzy, with a strong fluctuation of water elements, “I picked it up.”

“Picked it up?” Muria’s eyes narrowed, “Where did you find it? I remember only the castle I am building has such a perfectly shaped water-element crystal.”

The Cloud Giants’ bodies may be huge, but they also possess a pair of skilled hands. The crystal in Muria’s hand was cut into sixty-four perfect facets by the Cloud Giant.

“…” Young dragon Albert was speechless. Red dragons are known for their prowess among the Five Colored Dragons, not their intelligence. To think of an excuse to cover up his mistake had already surprised Muria.

“Move!” Muria came to Albert with the crystal in his hand, looked at the colorful scales on the dragon’s belly and gave a cold command.

“Master Muria, I…” Albert, who was already dripping with cold sweat, started to call Muria master, learning from the maid Mia. It had become fearful of Muria, the young dragon had a premonition of what was about to happen.

“You won’t?” Seeing the scene before him, Muria was furious.

Lately, he was living with maid Mia in a wooden house, and he was eagerly looking forward to his future castle residence. But now there were dragons stealthily hindering his plans.

Muria, who had reverted to his true form amidst the spirit light due to canceling his shape-shifting spell, picked up young dragon Albert by the neck. Instantly, the glow of magic crystals illuminated the simple cave of the young dragon in a kaleidoscope of colors.

It also made Muria’s face even darker. The back-winged juvenile half-blood Titan looked down at the young dragon Albert held in his hand, “You should know, how do dragons treat creatures who steal their treasure?”

The young dragon held by Muria heard these words, immediately opened his eyes wide in horror, and began to struggle vigorously. Dragons never showed mercy to creatures who stole their treasure, and would inflict the most painful punishment on the thief.

“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you.” Muria looked at the young dragon who instantly relaxed and stopped struggling and smiled, “After all, I’m not a true golden dragon. But although you won’t die, you can’t escape punishment. It’s necessary.”

Subsequently, a piercing scream echoed from the young dragons’ temporary cave, soon followed by five more miserable dragon roars of different tones…

When everything ended, Muria walked out of the dragon cave with the space ring full of “loot”, leaving behind six dragon-shaped charcoals that twitched from time to time in the cave.

This time, even the young female dragons Renata and Cynthia didn’t escape Muria’s punishment. Dragons’ greed was certainly not a mere saying.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of thousands of Cloud Giants, construction on the castle was progressing rapidly. In less than a month, the Cloud Giant leaders announced to Muria that the main structure of the castle had been completed.

As Muria was about to tour his new residence with the leaders of the Cloud Giants, admiring the majestic pure white castle, an accident happened.

Golden thunder tore open the space in front of Muria, and black spatial rifts intertwined to form a hundreds-of-meters tall Space Gate. Behind the gate, a black-haired, golden-eyed Titan, over a hundred meters tall, was striding forward, pulling something enormous, and coming his way…
