Alchemy clicked her tongue upon seeing her vitals slowly drain.
’That summoner... Is it also immune to pain? This is why I hate animated objects.’
She should have expected it from the name, and to an extent, Alchemy did, but the combination of pain immunity and conditional immortality was really starting to get on her nerves.
She couldn’t keep him down for long enough to stop his summoning while also dealing with the gazers.
’Faster, than. Alright.’
<Skill: Supplication has been activated!>
Disabling her defenses, Alchemy dashed back toward the Marionette. The remaining two gazers fired their corrosive beams, but Alchemy blocked them with her arms.
A nearly indescribable pain engulfed her arm. A sensation beyond any agony she’d faced thus far as the flesh on her arm boiled and peeled, sloughing away in thick, stringy strands as the corrosion melted through her muscles.
Her forearm wilted as her bones became nothing more than wet paper. Her eyes became bloodshot as she watched her health deplete. She felt every tendon dissolving, every nerve ending igniting before being stripped away.
Even still, she gritted her teeth through the pain, and the moment her health got low enough, she allowed her body to fall to the ground, evading the rest of the attack.

Before Alchemy could comprehend the order Nera gave, four Wingrazers flew toward the Marionette. The Gazers tried to lock onto them, but before they could take the shot, the sharp wings of the Wingrazers cut them in half.
They were already fast, but with the 65% buff from Supplication and Sovereignty Aura, their speed surpassed even that of Alchemy’s.
She was dumbstruck for a few moments due to her troops’ unexpected intervention, but the pain, along with a timely system notification, got her back to her feet.
<Notice: All summons have been dealt with! Quickly deal with the Wraith Marionette before it can summon more!>
As Alchemy lunged at the boss once again, projectiles from the Emberbugs passed her, striking the Marionette and broke the parts of its body that they hit.
Alchemy first punched down on the defenseless marionette, creating a crater where they stood. Barely a moment later, Nera came through and sliced both the strings that held it up and the crossbar that manipulated it.
Alchemy moved out of the way, allowing Nera to slice downward and cut the boss in half.

The split doll and crossbar began to float upward without giving them a break.
"OH FOR THE LOVE OF-"
Alchemy tried to catch the halves, but before she could finish her complaint or her movement, a tree of crystal split in triune and skewered both halves and the black cross.
"D-destroy them now!" A meek order was heard.
Without missing a beat, the Wingrazers came back around and slashed the crossbar into ribbons and the Emberbug completely shattered the further half.
Alchemy grabbed the remaining half of the Wraith Marionette and tossed it into one of the remaining Phantom Knives, followed by Nera cutting it and tossing it to Sapphire, allowing the deer to trample it for good measure before sealing it in a crystal cage.
{Regroup} Nera gave a swift order immediately.
The Verminae and Alchemy obeyed and retreated toward Sapphire.
What little remained of the doll tried to fly away, but after several failed attempts at breaking free from Sapphire’s binding, it ceased all movement.

The notification caused Alchemy’s eyes to widen...
Nobody was quite ready for the notification, as Alchemy and her heroes looked at each other like idiots.
Until Alchemy jumped into the air, pumping her fist.
"WE DID IT!" She cheered, causing a chain reaction to begin.
Nera and the Verminae began to let out chirps of happiness. Even the usually meek Sapphire was prancing around and making noise.
As Alchemy dropped to the ground, she fell onto her back and let out a deep sigh of relief.
It felt like she finally got to breathe after being underwater for hours!
"Before the euphoria wears off. Status."

’I still lost 25 more... Perhaps I should look on the bright side... Only losing 79 units in such a sudden disaster is a decent result... But I need to do better next time.’
Alchemy was unsure whether she wanted to be happy or sad. As much as she hated the system for not giving her prior warning, this could be considered a good experience.
’I thought I was taking this seriously enough. If something like this happens again, I’ll make sure I’m ready. If I can’t stop losses, I’ll definitely minimize them.’
<We have Identified the method the Mimic Disasters used to get the upper hand. It will not happen again.>
As her mind wandered, the sun began to peek out. They had been fighting for so long, but they managed... Somehow.
The pain that was eating away at Alchemy’s very existence felt like little more than a nasty scrape.
She wanted to sleep, but she couldn’t. There were still things that needed to be done.
