Kissed and Seduced By the Most Rough Man in the Village-Chapter 605: The Jiang Family’s Eldest Branch Wasn’t Let Off
Hu Yuezhen and Jiang Quankun seemed taken aback by the way the family division was being handled, especially since the plan was proposed by Su Xiaoxiao. They never expected things to unfold this way, and despite the seemingly fair approach Su Xiaoxiao suggested, they both felt like they were losing out.
"So, how is the old house going to be divided?" Hu Yuezhen asked.
"Of course, it’ll be divided into three parts," Su Xiaoxiao replied, looking at her as if she were a fool.
However, Hu Yuezhen couldn’t accept this and retorted, "You already have a large house. Why should you also take the old house?"
"We’re using land that belongs to Yexun’s household for the new house, and I’m paying for the construction," Su Xiaoxiao responded, her voice laced with frustration. "Your land is in the back. You’ve got the money now, so you can build your own house."
Hu Yuezhen and Jiang Quankun opened their mouths, but couldn’t find a counterargument.
In the end, they looked to their uncles, but both families silently turned their heads away. Right now, they wanted nothing to do with the Jiang Guoli family.
If anyone were foolish enough to say it aloud, it would be clear that the Jiang family’s recent misfortunes were too much to ignore. Jiang Guoli losing his position as village chief, Jiang Quansheng’s family being wiped out, and now Jiang Guoli himself ending up in prison—weren’t all of these the result of Jiang Yexun stirring the pot?
Although everyone had some fault in this, if the same situation had occurred in any other family, it would have just resulted in a few heated arguments or a fight. How could it escalate to a point of utter ruin?
One could only say that Jiang Guoli’s scheming from thirty years ago was nothing but a joke. After all, how could a spoiled daughter from a rich family not end up raising a child with deep connections?
As for Su Xiaoxiao... the Jiang family paid her no mind at all. They saw her as a spoiled fool, and they thought that Guo Hongxiang and Jiang Yexun were simply using her as a catalyst to stir up trouble with the Jiang family. They might even use her as a stepping stone to eventually leave Hong Feng Production Team.
But no matter how they viewed it, they didn’t want to offend Jiang Yexun. Otherwise, the next ones to be targeted could very well be them.
Kong Dongfeng, seeing that they had already discussed everything that needed to be said, spoke up, "Alright, then let’s go with this division."
With no other options, Hu Yuezhen and Jiang Quankun could only reluctantly accept the division of the money, food, and house into three parts.
Jiang Yexun didn’t want the house or the food, so he took the entire sum of money. The portion intended for Jiang Quansheng’s daughter was directly handed over to her.
As for whether she would be able to keep it, that was no longer their concern.
When they returned to their own home, Aunt Guo was still frowning, clearly troubled. "Do you think the second girl will be able to live a good life after this?"
"It depends on how malicious Hu Yuezhen and Jiang Quankun are," Su Xiaoxiao shrugged, unconcerned.
Jiang Yexun immediately understood what she meant, "I’ll tell Xingzhi to keep an eye on Jiang Quankun’s family after we leave. If the second girl suddenly dies, we’ll report it to the authorities."
Aunt Guo’s eyes widened in shock, unable to believe her son would think of such a thing.
But Su Xiaoxiao nodded in approval, "I think it’s a good idea. Besides, we’ve already done more than enough. We got the house, the money, and the food that belonged to your father, and we’ve handed everything over to her. She may be young and naive, but that’s her fate. Our relationship with the Jiang family has never been good. How could we owe her such a huge debt of gratitude, let alone have someone watch over her day and night?"
Furthermore, in her quest for revenge in this lifetime, the eldest branch was also involved. The wrongs they had inflicted upon her and Aunt Guo in the past were likely partly instigated by the eldest branch.
"You’re right," Aunt Guo nodded in agreement, though her mood wasn’t particularly upbeat. She only felt sympathy for the child, especially a girl, and was concerned about her future. But after hearing what Xiaoxiao said, she had no intention of helping the second girl anymore.
Given Su Xiaoxiao’s background, there was no way she would easily owe such a huge favor. If it came time to repay it, who knew what kind of big task it might involve?
Jiang Yexun could see his mother still looking down, a little gloomy. He furrowed his brow and said softly, "Mom, think about what happened to Sister."
Aunt Guo stiffened at once, her mind flashing back to the years when Jiang Quankun and Jiang Quansheng, two vile men, tried to marry her off to an old widower in the mountains for a mere 100 yuan dowry. She, her son, and daughter had all opposed it, but the two men secretly drugged them and forcibly sent her daughter away.
If it weren’t for Yexun waking up early, cutting his arm and forcing himself to chase after her, she would have lost her daughter’s future forever.
But despite this, Jiang Guoli had knelt down and used her background as leverage, silencing the matter within the family and preventing the two men from facing the consequences.
Moreover, when they went to Shanghai, her daughter and son-in-law were still in the city, and who knew if Jiang Quankun and Hu Yuezhen’s family might not covet their good life and stir up trouble?
Aunt Guo thought for a moment and then nodded firmly, "You’re right! If Jiang Quankun and Hu Yuezhen really are so malicious, then they should face the consequences of the law. We just need to make sure they don’t escape it."
However, just as she finished speaking, a thought seemed to cross Aunt Guo’s mind, and her furrowed brow returned.
