Knot me on ice, Captain(BL)-Chapter 48: The Ice rink promise
Kayden
I frowned at him. What the hell was he even saying? It wasn’t like we were in a relationship and why the hell was he so worked over Leo?
Never did I imagine that both of them would be enemies but I know Leo doesn’t hate him, he just hates his guts.
"Rhys, it shouldn’t matter to you," I told him. "Whatever is going on with me and Leo shouldn’t bother you at all."
Rhys let out a dry, humorless bark of a laugh, shaking his head. He reached out, his fingers hovering just inches from my waist before he finally let them settle there, pulling me back into his chest.
"That’s where you’re wrong," he whispered, his gaze dropping to my lips before locking back onto my eyes. "It matters because everything about you matters to me. There is no ’nothing’ when it comes to you, Kayden. If another man breathes your air, I feel it. If he touches your arm, I want to break his. You think this is just about a doctor being annoying? It’s about the fact that I’m losing my mind over a man I’m supposed to just be ’teammates’ with."
He leaned in, his forehead resting against mine, his breath warm against my skin. I said nothing, waiting for what else he had to say.
"Don’t tell me it shouldn’t matter," he growled softly. "Not after last night. I told you everything about me. Opening up is not something I am good at, but I did it because it’s you."
"Why?" My voice came out shaking, and my heart started pounding hard in my chest again, waiting to hear him—hoping for what I thought.
Rhys placed a hand on my cheek and caressed it gently. "I like you, Kayden," he confessed.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
My heart beat thrice as hard, so much so that I thought it might explode. His confession was unexpected, but I couldn’t help but wonder if it would be the same if he knew what I was.
It wasn’t as if he was asking me to date him. He just said he liked me, and that small, tiny confession was enough to set my heart racing because I liked him more than he liked me.
I’m an Omega, the voice in my head screamed. I’m the thing you’re not supposed to want on your team, the thing the league would ban in a heartbeat. I wanted to tell him. Goodness, I badly wanted to let him know what I was by releasing my true pheromones and letting him know he had chosen to like a mess. But I couldn’t.
How could I tell him I was an Omega when he hates them? If he knew, I’d lose the only life I had. I couldn’t say it.
I just looked at him, my eyes glassing over with a truth I had to keep buried.
"So you like me?" I asked. Rhys nodded and pulled me closer into his chest, his hand sliding down from my waist, his heavy palms cupping my glutes and pulling me against his hardening length.
"I want to fuck you again," he growled, his voice dropping into a filthy, gravelly register that sent a bolt of heat straight to my core. He squeezed my butt firmly, his fingers digging into the muscle. "I need to feel that tight hole of yours wrapped around my dick again. I want to feel you clenching around me until I can’t think straight and you’re sore for days."
Of course, liking me was related to sex; after all, he was an Alpha and was probably attracted to me because of what I am, just like Leo had said. But that didn’t bother me. I also wanted him to fuck me again.
"Your ass got tighter, Kayden," Rhys muttered as I felt one of his fingers sliding into my pants and digging into my briefs. He pressed my cheeks tighter. "Round and juicy for me."
I let out a moan and buried my face in his shoulder, my body betraying my resolve once more. The thought of him back inside me, filling me up, made my legs go weak.
And then the moment ended when a knock sounded on the plastic door.
"Kayden?" Leo’s soft voice sounded at the door.
Rhys let out a groan and rolled his eyes backward. He tried to speak up, but I clamped my hand around his mouth. "Don’t say a word," I mouthed to him.
"I know you both are in there and getting Miller to fake a head injury is stupid. Come out or I’ll wake your sleeping teammates."
Rhys removed my hand from his mouth and groaned again. "That damn doctor! I am going to throw him out of the emergency exit!"
I chuckled, burying my head in his chest. "We need to go back because Leo always does what he threatens to do," I told him.
Rhys muttered incoherent words under his breath, which made me laugh again. I leaned in and kissed him on the lips, catching him by surprise as his eyes went wide.
"Remember we still have Game 4 and 5 to win. Let’s win those," I said, straightening his jacket. Then I tiptoed and whispered into his ear. "We win, and I might consider letting you back in my hole again—and this time, it will be on the ice rink," I told him and kissed his cheek, giggling at the shock written on his face.
I pulled back and stared at him for a moment before turning to walk out of the lavatory, almost bumping into Leo who was glaring at me.
I walked past him, chuckling, and headed to my seat. Once seated, I turned toward the window and didn’t even bother to look at Leo when he sat beside me.
I already knew what he would say: ’Don’t let the Alpha knot you again.’
But how bad would it be to try it just one last time?
