Chapter 80: Wet Truths and Wicked Game

Rhys

I should hate him for everything, hate him for lying to me, for making me feel like I was losing my mind, but I couldn’t because I had fallen for him, and I regretted every word I said to him after finding his secret.

My reactions were valid because I never expected that he was an Omega.

I mean, who would have thought? But he was, and I had lashed out because I was tired of people using me as if I deserved it.

I had taken his data from Leo not only to keep him under my thumb but because I was terrified.

If I wasn’t around him, if I didn’t have total control over his meds, his secret would be out in a second, and it would be crazy if they found out about the secret he was hiding.

As I watched him stripped, I caught a whiff of his orchid scent and inhaled deeply. It was intoxicating, a sudden rush that made the anger in my chest waver.

"You smell sweet and look gorgeous too..." I murmured, my eyes drifting down, staring at his cock that was already aroused.

I chuckled darkly. I had thought he wouldn’t react like that, especially in front of me after everything I had said, but his body was betraying his fear, and it wanted me.

"Get in," I commanded, watching the way the light hit his bare skin.

"You... said you wouldn’t touch me?" Kayden’s voice shook as he spoke.

I shrugged my shoulders. "It depends on what you do, softie," I was back to using his name to change the mood between us. "Come in," I stretched forth my hand for him to take, my eyes staring at his cock yet again.

Kayden’s eyes followed my gaze, and he immediately placed his hand over it. "Pervert," he murmured.

I chuckled. "I have seen all of you, Kayden. How can I be a pervert?" I stretched my hand forward again, waiting for him to take it.

Kayden took a step toward the edge of the pool and placed his hand on mine.

I pulled him into the pool, and he landed in my chest, his bare ass pressing against my own cock that sprang into action immediately.

Kayden’s eyes widened, and he pushed me away, swimming to the other side of the pool. "Why the hell did you call me here?" he demanded. "Can’t we talk inside?"

I shook my head, swimming toward the wine I had set on a tray beside the pool. I poured the drinks into the glasses and moved closer to him, handing one to him while holding the other.

"Should you be drinking?" he asked as he took the glass in his hand. "You had pain killers and..."

"I am a true Alpha," I reminded him and winked, then I saw the frown furrow on his face and cleared my throat. "Well..." I stretched an arm from him and sipped from the drink before continuing. "These two days have been a rollercoaster, and we have said so many unpleasant words to each other, and that’s because you are a liar and..."

"Can you stop calling me that?"

I set the glass at the edge of the pool. "That’s because you are Kayden. You are still acting like an Alpha, so you should accept that label."

"You have no idea," he scoffed and drank from his glass.

"Which is why I want to know. I mean, if I am going to be living with a liar, I should at least get to know why they pretended to be an Omega?"

Kayden let out a groan. "Your words hurt sometimes, I hope you know that?"

"It’s how I was built, Kayden. I am trying to better myself, which is why I wanted to have this conversation with you. If I were the Rhys of last year, I would have revealed your secret to everyone, but I care about the season and I..." I paused, my heart racing fast as I slowly said the words I should have said from the beginning.

"I care about you," I told him and shut my eyes, gritting my teeth as I continued. "I had lashed out on you these past two days, but my anger was justified because you lied to me." I opened my eyes to meet his deep frown.

"There is a reason I lied!" Kayden retorted and set his glass at the edge of the pool. "You could have asked me first before jumping to conclusions and accusing me of so many things. Your words..." he paused, heaving a deep sigh. "They hurt, Rhys. That is the bad thing about you. You don’t know when to stop."

I clenched my uninjured hand under the water. "I know, and I told you that there are parts of me that are bad. If I genuinely didn’t care about you, we wouldn’t be having this conversation, but it doesn’t mean that I am not mad at you. I am still mad, but I want to know why you chose to pretend, Kayden, and if I find your answer worthy, then I will apologize for what I have done," I told him.

He gave me a questioning look, his brows furrowing in confusion. "What..."

"You heard me the first time. I don’t like repeating myself, Kayden. I am being kind right now. I truly want to know why you were so foolish as to come to the league pretending to be an Alpha? Why do you want to play hockey so badly?" I asked, leaning back against the pool’s edge, my arms spread wide, the protective, possessive urge in my chest rising.

I needed to know every single secret he was still hiding.

Kayden groaned and ran a hand through his wet hair, and looked at the sky. "Never believe you’ll ask me this," he sighed again, then looked at me. "I..."

I cut him off before he could finish. "Before you start, Kayden, we will be playing a game."

"Which is?"

"A game of truth. You answer me honestly, and you’re free. You lie, or you try to deflect..." I paused, my eyes dropping to where his body shimmered beneath the surface. "And you will touch yourself for me. You’ll give yourself a handjob right here while I watch."

I watched as his face turned red immediately. "Rhys... what are you... that’s..."

"You are deflecting already." I cut him off, my voice dropping to a dangerous low tone.

I reached out and caught a lock of his wet hair, tugging just enough to make him look up at me. "Do you want to start now, or are you going to give me the first truth?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

I leaned in, my breath fanning over his lips. "First question, little liar. Back in the kitchen, you said you used contraceptives every time I knot you. Tell me the truth—were those the reason why you fell on the ice that time? The reason for your stomach bug? Did you risk your life just to keep pretending to be an Alpha?"

Kayden’s breath hitched, his hands moving under the water, hovering near his thighs. He looked like he wanted to swim away, but we both knew he had nowhere to go.

"Answer me," I murmured, caressing a hand down his face. "Or start touching yourself. I’m waiting."

"Shouldn’t we go to sleep and prepare for practice tomorrow?"

I chuckled as I drew closer until our chests were touching. "We don’t have games until the weekend, Kayden. Tell me the truth or touch yourself, and when you do," I lowered my mouth to his ear, "I want you moaning out my name."
