Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!-Chapter 202: Reunion
"Ungrateful daughter! Kneel before me!" Milton Lowell gritted his teeth, wishing he could send his worthless daughter back for a complete reformation.
"Dear, why are you so harsh? You’re scaring Sylvie!" Sylvia Lowell’s mother, Beatrice Carter, frowned, looking painfully at her daughter.
"Shut up! It’s all because of your spoiling. Without you, how could Sylvie be so willful?"
Martin Carter sighed.
"Ungrateful daughter, you had such a good life, and look at what you’ve done outside! During those years studying abroad, you kept three men? You’re more manly than a man! Not even a man can keep three women at once!"
The second Lowell brother sneered, "Big brother, our niece has surpassed us all, making us elders feel ashamed!"
"Second brother, how can you say that? This has brought great losses to the Lowell Group, and you still have the nerve to laugh. I called everyone here not to watch jokes, but to discuss what to do next!"
Milton Lowell glared at Sylvia Lowell.
Sylvia Lowell was most afraid of Milton Lowell and was already kneeling on the ground.
"Sylvia, niece, it’s not that Uncle is criticizing you, but you’ve gone too far. You dared to cuckold the Warner heir! I think, brother, don’t blame me for being heartless. Now, with the Warner Group scandal, if we don’t give them an explanation, they won’t let this go!"
Milo Lowell squinted coldly.
"Milo, what do you think is an appropriate explanation for the Warners?" Milton Lowell frowned.
He actually agreed with Milo; this time, the Lowell Family was in the wrong.
"I think you must handle Sylvia with the family law and then send her to the Warners to calm their anger!" Milo Lowell didn’t spare a glance at Sylvia Lowell.
In Milo Lowell’s eyes, Sylvia Lowell was just a tool for marriage alliances.
"Milo! How can you say such a thing? Family law? Applying family law means fifty lashes of the whip. Not to mention Sylvia as a frail girl—even a grown man couldn’t endure that!" Beatrice Carter was furious.
Back when they heard about Sylvia’s marriage alliance with the Warners, Milo was so kind to Sylvia, almost treating her as his own daughter.
Now that this has happened, he wants her daughter to take the fall and face the family law.
Fifty lashes—would her precious daughter survive?
"Big sister-in-law, don’t blame me for being harsh, but who caused Sylvia to do such a thing? We need to give the Warners an explanation, or they won’t drop the matter!"
"Is there no other way?" Milton Lowell looked at his daughter, Sylvia Lowell.
Although she made him angry, she was still his daughter.
He would certainly be pained when it actually came to applying family law.
"Big brother, tell me, what other way? Compared to the Warners, they have money, connections, and resources. What compensation can we offer?"
Milo Lowell clapped his hands, looking worried.
He was scared now that Sylvia Lowell’s incident might affect him.
After all, he, like Milton, was part of the Warner Group.
"This..." Milton Lowell sighed.
"Brother, if you aren’t sincere, you shouldn’t have called us here. You might as well decide on your own. Now that I’ve given my opinion, you’re still pained!"
Milo Lowell snorted coldly.
"Fine, it’s all this ungrateful daughter’s fault for causing so much trouble; we’ll serve family law!"
Milton Lowell spoke coldly.
"You! You dare!" Beatrice Carter exclaimed.
"Step aside!" Milton Lowell shouted.
Milo Lowell said, "Brother, if you can’t bear it, let someone else do it!"
Milo Lowell didn’t wait for Milton Lowell to respond. He stepped forward and snatched the whip from Milton’s hand.
He began to whip Sylvia Lowell.
Since she wasn’t his daughter, Milo Lowell mercilessly whipped Sylvia Lowell, leaving her skin in shreds.
Beatrice Carter rushed forward to shield Sylvia Lowell.
"If you want to whip, then whip me instead, don’t hit Sylvie!"
Beatrice Carter cried, protecting Sylvia.
"Mom, save me, it hurts so much, I’m going to die!" Sylvia cried out.
"Sylvie, don’t be afraid. Mom promises you won’t be whipped!"
Martin Carter pulled Beatrice Carter away.
"It’s because you spoiled her too much that she turned out like this! See how you pampered her!"
Milo Lowell continued with the whip until he had dealt ten lashes, and Sylvia Lowell fainted.
"Sylvie, Sylvie!" Beatrice Carter hugged Sylvia, collapsing onto her as she cried.
"Call an ambulance, call an ambulance!"
Beatrice Carter cried while Milo Lowell and Milton Lowell shook their heads.
Lucas Lowell directly dialed 120. An ambulance came and took Sylvia Lowell to the hospital.
When Sylvia Lowell woke up again, it was already noon the next day.
Beside the bed, Beatrice Carter was caring for her.
Lucas Lowell was also there, accompanying them.
Seeing Beatrice Carter upon waking, Sylvia Lowell wept and snuggled into her mother’s embrace, crying bitterly.
"Mom, Dad and Uncle want to kill me. Please save me!"
"Sylvie, how could you be so foolish and do so many foolish things?" Beatrice Carter said, frustrated.
"Mom, I was wrong, I truly was!" Sylvia Lowell continued, "But those were things from before, things before I was engaged to Elias Warner, exposed by someone with ill intentions!"
Sylvia Lowell recalled finding Howard Quinn, and how he exposed her at the civil affairs office was all manipulated by Elias Warner.
Her heart ached to the extreme.
"Who? Who dares to oppose our Lowell Family?" Beatrice Carter now burned with anger.
"Mom, I... I don’t know either!" Sylvia Lowell didn’t want to tell Beatrice Carter that the person was Elias Warner.
"Sylvie, you can go find Annelise. Isn’t Annelise now the Warner family’s goddaughter? Go find her and let her speak on your behalf!" Lucas Lowell suggested.
Mentioning Annelise made Sylvia hate her deeply.
If it weren’t for Annelise, she wouldn’t be in this predicament.
It was because of Annelise that she couldn’t get into Elias Warner’s heart.
"Yes, your brother is right. Go find Annelise. You two have been best friends for many years. Wouldn’t she be willing to help with this small favor?"
Beatrice Carter thought Lucas Lowell’s suggestion made sense.
"Alright, I’ll call her. You all leave!" Sylvia said.
"Okay, talk to Annelise properly. We’ll be outside waiting for your news!"
Beatrice Carter and Lucas Lowell left the room.
Now, Sylvia Lowell was alone in the hospital room.
She picked up the phone, looked at the familiar number, hardened her heart, and called Annelise.
Buzz... Buzz...
The phone rang twice and was picked up.
"Annelise, it’s me! Didn’t expect you’d still answer my call!"
Sylvia sneered.
"Sylvia Lowell? Is that you? Sorry, I’ve deleted your number; I didn’t know it was you!" Annelise threw cold water on Sylvia Lowell.
"You! Annelise, you actually deleted me? This time I admit it was my fault; I apologize, but can you please, for the sake of our ten-year friendship, help me plead with Elias so the Warners won’t pursue this matter?"
Sylvia gripped the phone tightly, although filled with hatred toward Annelise, she still wanted to express her inner thoughts.
Her goal was simple now: first, utilize Annelise to gain Elias Warner’s forgiveness and help her family through the economic crisis.
"Sylvia Lowell, did you lose your memory? You wanted to stab me with a knife yesterday, and today you have the nerve to say you’re my ten-year good friend! I don’t have time to entertain your madness!"
Annelise hung up the phone directly.
Sylvia Lowell had never been belittled like this before.
Hatred toward Annelise filled her to the core.
"Annelise, just you wait! I won’t let you have it easy!"
Bang!
With a crisp sound, Sylvia Lowell threw the phone on the ground, shattering it.
Beatrice Carter and Lucas Lowell heard the commotion in the room and immediately rushed in from outside.
Seeing Sylvia Lowell emotionally agitated, they quickly asked, "What’s wrong? What happened? Why did you break the phone?"
"Mom, stop mentioning Annelise. If it weren’t for Annelise, I wouldn’t be like this. If it weren’t for Annelise, Elias Warner would have married me long ago!"
"Alright, alright, Mom won’t mention it again, won’t mention it again!"
Beatrice Carter sighed with tears.
Annelise was in the office, having hung up Sylvia Lowell’s call, feeling upset.
Although she had seen Sylvia Lowell’s true colors, she had invested ten years of friendship, after all.
Chloe Joyce noticed Annelise’s bad mood.
Quickly asked, "What’s wrong? Annelise, why did you become upset after a phone call?"
"Chloe, tell me, why can someone disguise themselves for ten years by your side, and you never see their true face?"
"Annelise, you shouldn’t be sad for unworthy people. Don’t you still have me?"
Chloe comforted.
Chloe held Annelise in her arms.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door outside.
"Annelise, the manager asked you to go to the office to discuss the specifics of the promotional video shoot! Please head over!"
"Alright! I’ll go right away!"
Annelise composed herself and headed to Scott Carter’s office.
Scott Carter’s Office
When Annelise arrived at Scott Carter’s office, she heard someone else talking to Scott inside.
Annelise knocked on the door and entered.
"Annelise, you’re here? Let me introduce you. This is Juliana, the lead actress of the recent hit movie, ’The First Flight Attendant’!"
Scott Carter introduced her.
Annelise immediately remembered Juliana.
Mentioning this movie in Kybourne, it’s known by everyone.
The impact of the movie was truly significant.
It even changed many people’s aspirations.
Many people wanted to apply for a career in aviation.
Annelise suddenly felt a sense of admiration for Juliana.
That movie was exceptionally well-performed.
"Annelise, I want to discuss something with you. For this promotional video, we’ve added a new spokesperson, Juliana. You two should take your time to work together well!"
Scott Carter said.
"Annelise, I remember now. We’ve met before! Do you remember me?"
Juliana stared at Annelise for a long time before recalling she had seen Annelise before.
