Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 119: In The Middle Of It All
Darius was held at a spot, his body immobile as he watched the Being walking close to him.
’Don’t fight back, Darius; he is not going to hurt you, so please don’t do anything rash.’ Azree warned.
Darius paused when he got the warning; it was not like he could even break free, but trying would have gotten him somewhere.
The being stopped in front of Darius; our young warrior could see that he was truly a giant.
"I am happy you stopped fighting back,"
The being smiled as he raised his hand to touch Darius’s cheek, a smile still present on his face.
"Who are you?" Darius stared at the being in front of him; all his danger senses were telling him to attack and make sure that he would kill it there and then.
"So eager to find out who I am, huh?"
The Being stopped touching Darius, turning to face the other direction.
"You don’t need to know who I am, but I would love it if you knew what awaits you."
Puzzled, our young warrior raised a brow; he didn’t know what the being meant by that.
"What awaits me?" He asked, looking at the Being; it was not clear yet what the Being meant by what was waiting for him.
The being let out a sharp chuckle; it shook the dimension with an eerie presence.
"You speak like you don’t have the slightest idea of what I am talking about here. While it is as clear as day, you are in the middle of a brewing war."
"You child," the Being pointed at Darius, the smile wider than before. "Are in the middle of it all, you aren’t going to be walking away from this anytime soon. With the powers of not only Ashran but also Slav slowly growing within you, in no time, you would be seen as a problem for the Great Divines."
The words of the being seemed to be a bit off, but Darius could see that it wasn’t some crazy thing.
"You feel it too, don’t you?"
The being had a smile on his face, waltzing back to Darius. Our young warrior couldn’t move; he could only look at the being.
"You were a miscalculation, and trust me, it hurt the gods to see that there was someone like you here. Even I wondered what made Ashran give his powers to a mortal like you."
"But now I see it, you aren’t even the type of person to fawn over such things..."
The being stopped, turned, and looked into the distance.
"Ah, so they have traced me." He smiled as he turned to look at Darius. "Well now, our little meeting is about to come to an end."
The being waved his hand, releasing Darius from the hold. Our young warrior moved his hands and legs.
’Such power, it was like he wasn’t even trying....’ Darius, surprised, was looking at his hand. It was in his favor that he chose not to attack.
"Listen now, young one," the Being spoke up again, calling Darius’s attention.
Darius looked up; he was looking at the being, and he could see it. He could see the being’s face; it was a magnificent, dark-skinned face with hazel eyes. His hair was long, gray, and curly; the cloak made it look like his teeth were colored, but indeed they were spotless.
"Now you have seen my face; my name is Sylus, and the gods call me the Wretched Mage and nosy Seer, but I am neither of those."
Sylus smiled as he looked at Darius; his presence had the young warrior stunned.
"Now, heed these warnings, child. The powers of chaos are within you, and they are growing along with you. Your enemies aren’t just the Children of the Abyss, but currently you are dealing with seven Dragon Kings and the gods of Order."
"Wait, what?"
Darius was shocked; he couldn’t understand what he meant by the gods of Order.
"I thought the Dragon Kings were the only ones who wanted me dead?"
"Yeah, they want you dead, so does everyone else in the Divine Hierarchy. I mean, you are some kind of sensation for them now."
Sylus smiled; he walked closer to Darius, trying to look at the boy in front of him.
Darius instinctively took a step back; he wasn’t sure what the mage, or whatever he called himself, had in mind.
Sylus, still smiling, leaned closer to Darius; his eyes were glowing weirdly. "I want you to be careful now; your enemies aren’t pushovers like those Orcs you faced. You managed to make the gods of Destruction want to make a move too, and other beings way scarier too."
Sylus turned and began walking away, humming as he walked.
Darius was looking at the being; he wasn’t sure what had happened.
"Wait, you can’t speak in riddles and leave!" He yelled, looking at the strange mage.
"Sure, I can; it is only a matter of how I am going to do it." Sylus waved his hand; he paused as he turned to look at Darius. "One more thing, the human realm is infested with Disciples of Order; they won’t attack you. But it’s the marked ones you should look out for; they are a handful, and they aren’t working for the gods of Order. They are there for someone else, so I would love it if you took it easy."
"Wait, what do you even mean by that?" Darius started chasing after Sylus, who seemed to be fading. "You can’t leave after saying things like this. How am I going to be able to figure anything out?"
"You will; just take it easy. Don’t worry, you will see me again when you are ready." Sylus smiled as he faded away.
"Take care of yourself, young warrior; there are trials ahead," Sylus added as he vanished into thin air.
Darius vanished from the dimension; Sylus stood there looking into the distance.
"You know I can see you; there is no point in you hiding from me." He turned and was about to walk away.
The disciple of Order stepped out of a spatial cloak; he was looking at Sylus.
"Hello, Mage..." He said as he moved close to Sylus. "I thought you said that you were not going to interfere."
Sylus opened up a portal, looking up with a smile. He turned back to the disciple. "I changed my mind."
The disciple broke out laughing; he held his belly. "So what changed?"
He looked at the mage. "So what changed your mind?"
Sylus looked down, slowly looking at the disciple. "He reminds me of Ashran."
