Legacy Of The Extra-Chapter 64: Heldenstein(4)
Chapter 64 - Heldenstein(4)
"Then we should beg—"
Creeak.
Before the man could speak, the doors swung open again. Making every student present in the hall turn their heads. The silhouette of two figures could be seen—Both males.
Then a voice uttered.
"Kept you waiting, huh?"
The two man entered the room, their footsteps echoing on the marble tiles below. One of them wore round glasses, the bridge resting on his nose. He had brown hair with black undertones, slightly tousled around the top.
His grey eyes were wavering as he held his head low, avoiding the gazes directed towards him. Sweat trickling down his face, his hands clasped together in front. He seemed like a sweet and anxious guy who had lost his way in the marketplace.
But what demanded everyone's gaze was the man alongside him. He had a different air about him—Cold like death, elegant like a noble. He stepped forward with confidence, his gaze fixed towards the podium, silver eyes locking with the man on the stage.
He had a light shade of blonde hair that seemed like the colour of wheat, framing a face as sharp as an executioner's axe. His face was expressionless with no signs of any twitching.
"Who is that?"
"I don't know never seen him before..."
"By the gods, he is handsome!"
"Is he perhaps noble or a prince?"
Ripples of murmurs flowed throughout the body of the students, trying to decipher this new mysterious man who seemed like someone out of a tale of Crowns and Princes.
Raiden's eyes narrowed on him, and he searched for a brooch or something that would identify, but he had none on him.
Maybe he is noble from a small barony, or he might be a commoner.
Raiden stayed focused on him—on his every movement. The man did not seem to care about the conversations he had begun, nor did he seem sociable. It was like cold walls surrounded him, separating him from the herd.
He could tell that this guy wasn't just any normal person.
He had the gaze of a Knight who trained until his body collapsed. Someone who had fought and returned from the face of death.
"Hey brother," Leona tugged at his sleeve. "Do you know him?" She asked. Directing her gaze towards the man who reached for a seat in the Fifth row. The wimpy one who had followed him from before sat with him.
"I don't know, I have never seen him before," Raiden uttered, his fingers brushing his chin. "But he seems familiar—like I have seen him somewhere before."
Leona frowned and turned towards her friend Cynthia. "Cynthia, perhaps, you have seen—" Leona froze as she saw Cynthia's face, which was getting paler by the second. Her icy blue eyes were wavering at the figure who sat in the fifth row.
"You okay, Cynthia?" Concerned, Leona asked, prompting Raiden to turn towards them to check on his friend.
"Cynthia, what happened? You seem pale, are you not feeling well?"
Her lips pressed into a thin line, her knuckles whitened as she clutched her coat tightly. Her eyes never left that man's face. "No way..."
Seeing this, Raiden asked. "Do you know him?"
Cynthia simply nodded, and tears welled up in her eyes. Raiden felt like not asking anymore, his friend seemed uncomfortable with something. But his sister pursued anyway.
"Then tell us, who is he?" She demanded.
"Wait, Leona, we should not force her."
Understanding her friend's condition, Leona also stepped back. She did not want to force her friend either, after what had happened to her and Felix. "I am sorry, Cynthia."
"No..." Cynthia replied. "I know him. It is No—"
"Silence."
A deep voice reverberated in the whole, making all the students quiet down their murmurs. Raiden, Leona and Cynthia looked at the man who stood on the podium. His gaze swept over the student body right before stopping at the latecomers.
"You two," He pointed his finger at the two of them, prompting them to stand up. "You are late."
The expression of the blonde-haired boy did not change a bit, but the one with glasses shuddered as his whole body trembled.
But the man did not stop, he continued. "Can you state the reason for your delay?" His eyes narrowed at the two of them as if peeling their skin and muscle to find the answer. "You do know that Heldenstein is not a place for indisciplined and entitled Brats?"
"Yes, sir, we do." The blonde one spoke up, his voice deep and calm. Loud enough to be heard by the man on the podium.
"Then why are you late?" The man repeated.
"I got lost."
The blonde man simply replied, his gaze never wavering from the man's figure. He did not even flinch as he talked to him, unlike his companion, who was dying from the sheer attention on him.
The man's attention shifted back to his friend, who was shivering, and as if feeling his gaze, the boy with the glasses calmed down. He cleared his throat before answering, "Uhm—yes, sir, t-the two of u-us got lost in the huge c-campus..."
Silence.
The whole body of students fell silent. No one spoke a single word, and then—
"HAHAHAHHAHA"
Laughter resounded in the whole room as the excuse left the boy's lips, making him shiver even more.
"There are signs posted on the walls, you idiots!"
"They couldn't make up a better excuse?!"

Taunts from the student body flooded the room, even making Raiden and Leona chuckle a little. But the blonde boy, unlike his friend, showed no signs of reaction.
He seemed indifferent about it.
"Silence!"
The man's voice reverberated again, making everyone put a finger to their lips.
He pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled. "Very well, you may sit now."
"Thank you, sir." The blonde boy replied with a smile.
"But don't repeat the same mistakes again, Albert Weichts and..." His eyes narrowed over the blonde boy.
"Noah Von Blitzfeld."
Everyone in the audience held their breath. No words came out—not even a single murmur, as if something had snatched their tongue away.
Raiden's eyes widened as he looked at Noah, his jaw almost slackening. Is he really that Noah?
And echoing his thoughts, another ripple followed through the students.
"You mean... He is that missing noble?"
"Wasn't he just a fat and ugly pig?"
"What happened to him?"
"Is he really the Disgrace of the Blitzfeld?"
The nobles murmured on, disbelief etched onto their faces. They had just seen someone who had been ridiculed and treated as nobody, to someone who could hang open their mouth with surprise.
"Is it really him?" Leona blurted out. Her scanning for any remains of the boy who had played with them before—The same chubby and kind boy.
"There is no mistaking, it is him..." Cynthia murmured, her jaw tightening. "I would never mistake those silver eyes."
His eyes seemed different. Instead of a soft and warm gaze, it was rather a cold and indifferent one. There was no kindness in them, only a cold fury of confidence that burned brighter than any fire.
[Raiden,] Gabriel called out to him. He was quiet this whole time as if observing everything Raiden saw with his eyes.
You were there, Sir Gabriel?
[I am always here, but now, I want to talk about something.]
What is it that you want to talk about? Raiden asked.
[That boy... do you perhaps know him?]
Not much, but yes, when we were kids, we played together. But why are you asking me this?
[Child, consider this advice—Don't make an enemy out of that boy. Never.] Gabriel warned, his warm tone darkened. [He has something about him that unsettles me. I don't know what it is.]
[But whatever you do—Don't get on his bad side.]
Hearing the voice in his head being this serious. Raiden's mind ran with various thoughts, he wanted to know why Gabriel was so deeply unsettled by Noah.
I will talk to him after this...

Elisabeth's whole body trembled as her gaze remained fixated on the boy who was her fiancé. The same boy she had belittled before, and whom she had asked to stay away. He—he changed this much?
This was not the Noah she remembered.
The Noah she remembered was a kind boy who would give everything to follow her. Yes, his demeanour changed slightly the last time they met, he became much colder and blunt.
But this—this was totally different.
Their engagement had not been broken off yet, as the Blitzfelds were still searching for him. But who could've known that Noah would change this much?
No longer was he the fat and weak boy, he had completely changed his looks. He grew taller, his face became sharper and more refined. His body had dumped all its unnecessary fat and achieved a cleaner and more muscular look.
His shoulders were wide, his waist was thin. Giving him a V-taper physique.
His expression was totally different from before. It held confidence and something more that she could not figure out.
Elisabeth's knuckles gripped her uniform, she closed her eyes shut. I will approach him after this... Her eyes flashed with determination.
This engagement is not over yet.
