Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Saint Heir Lands_1

Such listening devices are common, yet costly.

Bridger Davenport must have spent a considerable sum to acquire it, which clearly shows his sincere intent to defect to Julius Reed.

These eavesdropping tools usually have a surveillance range of about one kilometer.

Even though Bridger didn’t mention where the device was located, it shouldn’t be far from here.

Seeing no one around, Julius Reed stealthily took the listener out and tucked it into his ear.

The signal was intermittent, and the voices came in sporadic bursts.

Walking towards a direction where the signal was slightly better, the sounds in the listener grew increasingly clear.

It appeared the location where Bridger had installed the device was toward the direction of the docks.

“Utmost secrecy must be maintained. The arrival of the Saint Heir must not be known to others,”

a man’s voice came through the listener.

Having traveled extensively, Julius was very familiar with these languages and had no difficulty understanding them.

“Rest assured, protector, our own men surround the area. After the Saint Heir lands, he will be immediately taken to the Leopold Family villa by car, and no one will be the wiser.”

The voice of another person was notably more respectful.

“This matter is of great importance; we must protect the Saint Heir at all costs. And that person who destroyed our sacred sect years ago—let him taste death!”

Anger was evident in the man’s voice as he spoke.

Having one’s sect annihilated is an indelible disgrace for any faction, and the images of their Sect Hierarch and Saint Heir being hung up had circulated throughout the underworld.

Even though Skyfire had been restored, their reputation in the underworld greatly diminished.

At times, they were even mocked by other forces, a stain they could never wash away.

“I am looking forward to that moment! I hope he doesn’t die too easily.”

“Quiet, the Saint Heir is to land in five minutes. Get the vehicles ready and ensure his protection all the way.”

“Understood! Team A has arranged everything, and I’ll go clear a passage through the old town district right away.”

“Team B is in position, no suspicious individuals nearby.”

“Prepare to welcome the Saint Heir!”

The listener fell silent, leaving only the sound of waves lapping against the dock.

Julius Reed moved to a tall building and quietly took out a pair of binoculars.

These were specially modified tools that wouldn’t be detected, even in the sunlight.

In the distance, a massive ship cut through the waves, heading straight for the dock.

And near the dock, many were armed to the teeth, constantly on guard.

There were guards in plain sight and those hidden.

“Quite the spectacle,”

Julius Reed murmured with a faint smile, secretly observing from an old building.

Finally, the ship stopped near the dock.

Out of nowhere, a figure in red descended upon the waves!

“Welcome, Saint Heir!”

the guards’ voices echoed once more through the listener.

“It has been an ordeal,”

the voice of the Saint Heir, weathered with age, speaking as someone who would be at least in their forties or fifties.

But the ability to walk on water was truly extraordinary.

“Please, Saint Heir, get in the car. The people from the Leopold Family in Five-river Province are waiting here, and our personnel will accompany you the whole way to ensure your safe arrival at the Leopold Family villa.”

A man in a yellow robe approached the Saint Heir, gesturing politely.

“Where are the Ridge Family now?”

The Saint Heir asked, hands clasped behind his back, showing no haste to get into the car.

“The Ridge Family’s butler is awaiting you at the Leopold Family villa. The Family Head of the Ridge Family is not in a position to meet you and is currently praying at home.”

The man in yellow answered.

“It seems you are frightened? The Saint Heir of Skyfire has traveled a long distance to Five-river Province, and Truman Ridge dares to send only a butler to receive me? He’s truly dismissive! Moreover, my coming here is to kill that madman; what should he fear?”

With a sweep of his long sleeves, the Saint Heir said, “Directly to the Ridge Family! Skyfire should show him some color!”

“Saint Heir, the Ridge Family here in Five-river Province wields overwhelming influence. Should we perhaps…”

The man in the yellow robe stopped mid-sentence, not daring to continue.

“The Ridge Family? I could extinguish them with a flick of my wrist!”

The Saint Heir turned and stepped up into the carriage, his voice grave, “Notify the butler and tell him I’ll be waiting for him at the Ridge Family estate!”

“Understood!”

Without a moment’s hesitation, the man in the yellow robe immediately took out his phone to make the call.

Meanwhile, the Saint Heir’s car began to slowly move forward.

Just then, Julius Reed’s phone received a message, sent by none other than Bridger Davenport.

‘One kilometer away from the dock, there is a trap. A lighter is the switch. Though it can’t deal a fatal blow, it’s enough to frighten.’

Upon reading the message, Julius Reed took out his lighter.

This affair made him reassess Bridger Davenport; indeed, the mind behind the Three Blade Group, so meticulous in his planning.

Yet that one kilometer was exactly where Julius Reed found himself now.

Gauging the speed of the car, he leapt from the old building, rolling forward and vanishing into the darkness.

Boom!

The moment he landed, he pressed the lighter in his hand down fiercely.

A streak of flame shot up into the sky.

In the midst of the flames, a figure shot into the air, slightly disheveled, but still managed to land steadily on the ground.

“Protect the Saint Heir!”

The crowd immediately stirred, and the Hidden Guard scattered in search of the assailant.

But after a long search, they found no trace of anyone.

“Who is responsible for the security of this operation?”

The Saint Heir turned around, his cold gaze sweeping over the members behind him.

Everyone he looked at felt a chill down their spine.

“It… it was me…”

Finally, a man dressed in field gear, clearly trembling, stood up.

“Why didn’t you notice it?”

The Saint Heir pointed to the burning car in front of him and asked aloud.

His red clothes were somewhat tattered, but he hadn’t been harmed.

Had it been someone else, they might have been reduced to a corpse, just like the driver inside.

“Please forgive me, Saint Heir!”

The man instantly knelt on the ground, his voice filled with extreme fear, “It was my fault. I ask the Saint Heir to grant me a chance to redeem myself through meritorious service.”

“May the Lord finally redeem you.”

The Saint Heir closed his eyes and slowly extended his hands.

“No! Please, give me a chance! Saint Heir, I have made great contributions to Skyfire. You can’t… Ah!”

As he screamed, flames suddenly appeared on the man’s body, slowly incinerating him.

“Saint Heir… no…”

Half a minute later, the man lay on the ground, completely reduced to ashes.

“I hope you learn from this and avoid an ignominious death like his.”

The Saint Heir looked around, causing the people nearby to shiver with fear.

“I’ll go check immediately!”

Another subordinate, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, led his crew to quickly inspect the area to ensure that there were no further threats.

Twenty minutes later, the Saint Heir got into another car and headed straight for the Ridge Family’s place.

And behind him, a dozen cars followed in pursuit.

“Lucan, go to this location and cause a car accident for me.”

Watching the retreating cars, Julius Reed took out his phone and sent a GPS location to the Western Swordsman, Lucan Davenport.
