"The location of that safe is usually quite concealed."

In the meeting room, the agents were seated in chairs. Winslow distributed more than a dozen photos to everyone, introducing with a pained expression:

"On the first floor of the Campbell-Hank's house, there's a bathroom.

Campbell modified the structure beneath the toilet; the safe is hidden there."

Hearing Winslow's words, and looking at the images in the photos, Chenier, Mona, and the others had peculiar expressions, as if they could smell the scene through the pictures.

"You've had a tough time."

Luo An's eyelid twitched. He briefly praised Winslow, then shook a photo and asked:

"What you mentioned about the ancient gold coins, what's that about?"

"It's these gold coins."

Winslow turned around to a box nearby and took out several transparent evidence bags.

Inside the evidence bags were some coins with a dull yellow shine, engraved with simple patterns on the surface, roughly the size of a wristwatch face.

"Wow."

Everyone took the gold coins, faces showing surprise. Few people dislike gold, and these coins with their ancient style were even more eye-catching.

Winslow collected the photos one by one and said:

"A total of 9 gold coins were found. The forensic department is currently investigating the origin of these coins based on the patterns on them."

"OK."

Luo An nodded, putting the matter of the gold coins aside for now, then asked:

"What about the counterfeit bills?"

"Twenty-dollar bills were also found, totaling 300,000 dollars in counterfeit money."

Winslow replied:

"After examination by the forensic department and several currency experts, it was determined that these counterfeit bills belong to the same batch as the super counterfeit bills we discovered previously."

"Very good."

Luo An then looked at Chenier and asked:

"How is Anatoli now?"

"The headquarters' doctor has treated Anatoli's wounds, and his mental state has stabilized significantly with the help of a psychologist."

Chenier quickly put down the gold coins and answered seriously:

"He's currently in the temporary holding cell and can be interrogated at any time."

"Then take him to the interrogation room."

Luo An stood up and ordered:

"Also, prepare the pursuers caught yesterday, we need to have a chat with them too."

"No problem!"

Chenier patted Reesi on the shoulder, and the two of them left the meeting room to head to the jail.

Half an hour later, in the leftmost interrogation room, Anatoli sat in a chair with his hands cuffed, looking nervous and fiddling with his fingers unconsciously.

"Good morning, Mr. Anatoli."

Across the interrogation table, after Mona had the computer ready, Luo An pushed a folder in front of Anatoli and said solemnly:

"Is there anything you want to say?"

Seeing the photos of the counterfeit bills and ancient gold coins in the folder, Anatoli looked even more panicked. After a few moments of silence, he lowered his head as if accepting his fate, and said:

"Sorry, I didn't expect things to turn out this way."

Luo An narrowed his eyes slightly, handed Anatoli a cup of coffee, and said softly:

"Speak in detail."

Anatoli took a small sip of the coffee and said:

"Those counterfeit bills were picked up by me, and the gold coins were found underwater by my colleagues and me."

Anatoli stated that he was a crew member on a treasure hunting ship, which was not very large, with only ten people including him.

Not long ago, this treasure hunting ship had been drifting in a certain sea area off the coast of Carolina for more than a month before successfully locating a sunken ship. They retrieved a few gold bars, silver coins, and other items from it.

Due to the ship being too small and lacking adequate equipment, the excited crew decided to return to shore immediately to prepare for a larger ship.

"Not long after leaving the ocean and returning to land, the news of our finding gold somehow got leaked out, and then we were targeted."

Anatoli lowered his head, fear flashing in his eyes, then continued:

"That night, a group of people burst into the house we were renting... Bob, Auburn, they all died, only I and two others managed to escape..."

Due to some mental issues, Anatoli's storytelling became stuttered and fragmented at this point, causing significant difficulty for Mona, who was responsible for recording.

Fortunately, Luo An, using "emotional sensing," confirmed that the other party was not lying. Seeing the instability of their mental state worsening, Luo An quickly stepped in to change the topic and soothingly calmed them down.

A few minutes later, Anatoli's emotions settled somewhat. Luo An poured him another cup of coffee, then asked softly:

"And then what? Where did the three of you go after fleeing the rented house?"

"I don't know, I just kept following Leon..."

Anatoli stammered, indicating he was too terrified at the time to know what to do.

Fortunately, his colleagues Leon and Benson didn't abandon him. They threw a backpack containing the gold coins to Anatoli for safekeeping and then started shooting back.

However, the number of enemies was too great. Leon and Benson quickly decided to retreat, and the three of them hurriedly "found" a car to escape.

"That group kept closely chasing us, Leon couldn't shake them off at all."

Anatoli trembled as he explained:

"Then Leon and Benson started arguing. I didn't catch much of what they said, but I could tell they were very agitated.

Then Leon turned the car sharply into a factory on the outskirts. There were several people there who started shooting at us.

Leon and Benson returned fire, but after a few seconds, that group pursuing us entered too, making the scene even more chaotic..."

Mona furrowed her brows, the sound of typing on the computer never ceasing; she had grasped the sequence of events from Anatoli's narrative: 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Leon and the others discovered a sunken ship with gold at sea. Upon returning to land, the news got leaked, and another group tried to steal from them.

Unable to win against this group, Leon and the others fled and drove into a third-party's territory, hoping to deflect the threat onto someone else.

Luo An also understood Anatoli's account but hadn't clarified one issue, so he continued to ask:

"How did those counterfeit bills come about?"

"Benson gave them to me."

Anatoli explained dully:

"There were many machines in that factory, and many packages behind them, which contained these bills.

During the shootout, Benson found a backpack with these bills.

He handed the backpack over to me, telling me to leave the factory and go to New York to find Campbell. He and Leon would arrive later."

Anatoli, being obedient, took the backpack with the counterfeit money and the one with the gold coins, and hurriedly left the chaotic factory.

On the way, Anatoli wanted something to eat but had no money, so he had to use the counterfeit bills to buy food.

Heading north all the way, Anatoli successfully arrived in New York and, following Benson's contact method, found Campbell-Hank.

"Benson said Campbell was absolutely trustworthy."

Saying this, a faint trace of envy appeared in Anatoli's eyes as he said softly:

"Because they were in prison together, had * with several women together, like brothers from different mothers with no blood relation."

"..." x2

Mona stopped typing momentarily, while Luo An's mouth twitched, suppressing the urge to vent, and continued questioning Anatoli.

Twenty minutes later, Luo An and Mona exited the interrogation room. Winslow approached quickly, waving a document:

"Luo An, the forensic department has clarified the origin of the gold coins."
