Legendary Librarian System-Chapter 119: Meng Ai
"I never knew you would be able to produce your own personalized cultivation method."
Meng Ai almost spat out the tea.
She glanced at her Big Brother Liu Wei, who was smiling at her.
She looked below and gazed at her book and finally understood how her Big Brother knew.
She was about to say something when her Big Brother Liu Wei said, "A dual path cultivation method at that. You never really cease to surprise me."
Meng Ai was silent.
She instantly concluded that her Big Brother must have been informed by the sentient library.
She said, "It’s because of the Knowledge Intent. If it was not for the book you have borrowed for me, Big Brother Liu Wei, I might not have been able to produce my own personalized technique. Of course, it is still inspired by the method the library has produced."
Liu Wei’s eyes widened.
He sighed. "I guess, you really came back because you have already gathered the middle-grade spirit stone."
Honestly, Liu Wei was surprised. When he first came to know her, Meng Ai was always enthusiastic about "knowing."
She complained everyday how her family always lied to her, to force her to obey them.
But she doesn’t want that.
She wants to obey them by knowing the truth.
That it was only right for her to obey them without being told lies.
Furthermore, every single day, she has this feeling that her family was hiding something.
Hence, every day... was tormenting her.
Because she badly wanted to know the truth.
Now, Liu Wei was curious if she was able to uncover the truth that her family has been hiding from her.
Meng Ai said, "Yes, Big Brother. Not only that, I have established a hidden intelligence group and have been growing ever since.
With it, I was able to learn... that my family did not actually live here. They are... barbarians."
Liu Wei was stunned.
If he remembered correctly, Zhao Heng has a deep grudge with the barbarian.
His desire to avenge his parents to the barbarians led him to receive a manual about gaining the Minor Completion of the Dao of Spear.
If Meng Ai’s parents were barbarians...
Liu Wei rubbed his temple, feeling his head being wrapped by headache after imagining various scenarios.
Meng Ai noticed his reaction and giggled.
She said, "Don’t worry, I know Zhao Heng. If he comes to know about this, he will kill me."
Liu Wei was surprised.
He did not say anything and continued to stare at Meng Ai with an ambiguous expression.
Meng Ai said, "My parents, from what I know after connecting the history of significant events in the Tribe of Burning Fang, are one of what they considered traitors after they destroyed their dantian and disappeared in the Kingdom of Jinwu.
They are now residing in the capital city, even, which was surprising. They are living quite a peaceful life, too."
Liu Wei nodded.
Meng Ai continued, "And they have long disregarded the past. Even then, the past always comes in the form of ghosts. Ghosts will never leave you alone and will continue to remind you of its presence."
Liu Wei nodded.
"So, that’s why you believe they are hiding something?"
Meng Ai nodded.
She sighed.
"Yeah, I thought I could do something about it, but actually not. I mean, yes? In a way that I now know my real identity and might be able to make use of it to decide my future, but I can’t become a barbarian. I guess, I have to forget everything, even my potential and should make way for my own future."
She stared at Liu Wei with grateful eyes and bowed deeply.
"And thank you for giving me this opportunity, Big Brother Liu Wei!
Without you, what I wanted to achieve in the future would have been impossible to manifest."
Liu Wei smiled. He said, "It’s your desire to learn that compelled me to help you and give you opportunity."
Meng Ai smiled and raised her head. "You really are kind, Big Brother. In fact, not only am I planning to return the book and pay you with a middle-grade spirit stone, I want to give you this."
She then raised her finger and her storage ring lit up.
Liu Wei was stunned. Only now he noticed the storage ring in Meng Ai’s finger.
Just how rich has she become?
Liu Wei did not take some time to realize that the hidden intelligence group that Meng Ai has established must have become a big business.
To the point she was able to acquire a middle-grade spirit stone.
If that is the case, then acquiring a storage ring is not far from impossible, too.
While he was in deep thought, Meng Ai put the objects she extracted from her spirit ring to the jade table.
There was a book, a middle-grade spirit stone placed inside a jade box, and a token.
Liu Wei glanced at the token and tilted his head sideways.
The token was perfectly shaped in a circular form, but the design...
Seemed to have been carved by the hand of a kid?
Liu Wei instantly guessed that Meng Ai must have personally crafted it.
And he had mixed feelings about it.
After all, she would have been able to hire an expert in token crafting, but she personally did it.
It could only mean one thing...
That token might be the most valuable token in her hidden intelligence group.
Meng Ai smiled and looked at Liu Wei.
"These are all yours, Big Brother Liu Wei."
Liu Wei nodded.
Meng Ai noticed her big brother was staring at the token as she smiled.
"This is what I want to give you. I told Big Sister Yu Shuang that this is for you."
"Yu Shuang?" Liu Wei frowned.
He was glad that Meng Ai had someone she could lean for. Hence, he was curious about her identity.
Meng Ai nodded.
"Big Sister Yu is my big sister but not by blood. She’s also my right hand, who directly manages the Silent Weave."
