Chapter 121: Tribe of the Burning Fang

Meng Ai closed her eyes and tried to reimagine the traumatic event in her life.

When she felt she could talk about it with her Big Brother Liu Wei without feeling emotional, she finally took a deep breath.

She exhaled for a while and said, "Elder Sister was caught by the Royal Family. The Listeners we had, a street vendor, turned out to belong to the Solar Dao Division.

She was captured and detained. As much as she wanted to bite her tongue, she was completely restrained."

Liu Wei was surprised.

He thought. As expected, the Royal Family caught them. But since the Silent Weaver is doing just fine, it appears that the Royal Family let them off the hook.

Meng Ai continued, "Even without being informed, I already knew what was wrong, so I actively looked for her. Eventually, I met the Crown Prince and freed her. He even rewarded me with a middle-grade spirit stone and promised benefits to help the Silent Weave grow."

Liu Wei was shocked.

He asked, "When did that happen?"

Meng Ai replied, "Just a week ago."

"Did you have a conversation?"

Meng Ai nodded. "Yes. He told me he was also a customer like me. He said he instructed the Dao Solar Division to look for me, so he invested a lot in his intelligence group to the point that they captured other hidden intelligence groups just to search for me.

Thankfully, he immediately discovered I was your customer before the worst things could happen."

Liu Wei nodded.

He fell into deep thought.

I already said that he must not endanger the life of other customers. Although he promised it, even providing benefits and rewards, the fact that Meng Ai is traumatized, I can’t let it slide.

He asked, "Are you okay now?"

Meng Ai nodded. "Yeah, I was just traumatized with the idea of Big Sister Yu disappearing from me. The Crown Prince was kind, actually. He was asking me if I needed more."

Liu Wei nodded. I guess I will forget about this once. It really does seem that the Crown Prince is actively seeking out my other customers and providing them benefits.

Liu Wei tried to guess his intention and inwardly grinned.

He’s so obvious.

He speculated that the Crown Prince must be trying to help his other customers grow, so they would be able to help them when dealing with the golden chick.

Liu Wei thought it was not a bad idea since the other customer was benefitting from it. In addition, they would still eventually have to deal with the golden chick, before it would wreak havoc in the Mortal Domain.

As Liu Wei pondered about it, he instantly guessed there was no need to worry.

That led him to another topic.

The deep grudge between the barbarian and the Kingdom of Jinwu.

He stared at Meng Ai and asked, "Can you tell me why the barbarian and Kingdom of Jinwu are in conflict with each other?"

Meng Ai was surprised.

She thought for a while. I guess Big Brother Liu Wei is really not aware of the common history of the Kingdom of Jinwu and the Tribe of Burning Fang. I must start from the very basics.

Meng Ai nodded and said, "The Burning Fang Tribe is a fierce barbarian people who inhabit the harsh and desolate Crimson Fang Highlands, a land of jagged mountains and burning winds to the northwest of the Jinwu Kingdom. For centuries, they have warred with the Kingdom of Jinwu, for they strongly reject the imperial rule and scorning the worship of the Golden Crow.Unlike Jinwu’s sunfire-based traditions, the Burning Fang draw their strength from Blood Qi, Beast Essence, and a dark flame said to be born from the Nether Sun, an ill-omened star that shines only during blood sacrifices.

They claimed they were the descendents of the Fangwolf Demon Emperor. According to their myth, it is an ancient beast deity who challenged the Golden Crow during the Primordial Age. However, the Kingdom of Jinwu never verified it, so it was difficult to know the truth."

Liu Wei glanced at Meng Ai and asked, "Based on that story, do you think that is true?"

Meng Ai tilted her head sideways and thought for a while.

Eventually, she slowly nodded.

She said, "It’s possible. After all, they were ancient beasts from primordial times. Their legacy is present in the two different large groups."

Liu Wei nodded.

He sighed. "I also believe, too. And I would like to believe that these damn beasts are trying to spread their hatred with each other even in the Mortal Domain. I simply hope the spirit of the Mortal Domain will not let this slide."

Meng Ai was taken aback.

Her eyes shone with curiosity.

She seemed to have been sparked with another truth that has been hidden from her.

Liu Wei noticed her reaction and shook his head.

He said, "Continue the story."

Meng Ai was disappointed.

However, she continued nonetheless.

She said, "Legend says that the founder of the Tribe of Burning Fang devoured the heart of a Spirit Beast King, granting their tribe the ability to harness Blood Flame — a sinister crimson fire fueled by life essence.

Hence, they cultivated an unorthodox method. They absorbed the blood of the beasts to strengthen their bodies. They also have what they called this weird "Totemic Ascension" which can be achieved by devouring the beast’s core and integrating the beasts’ traits, so they can have fangs, claws, and enhanced senses. Furthermore, they also undergo Blood Flame Awakening. The highest warriors can manifest crimson flames from their bodies. It’s simply similar to awakening the meridian points."

Liu Wei was intrigued.

He did not expect them to cultivate an unorthodox method.

Furthermore, it was similar to his.

However, one thing was certain.

The Blood Demonheart is still stronger.

While he was lost in thoughts, Meng Ai continued.

"That’s why, Jinwu calls them "barbarian dogs of the Nether Sun", while the tribe calls Jinwu "slaves of the false sun"."
