"Sarah, what have you selected?"

Lucas looked at her thinking while she was looking at him. He was uncertain as to what she should get or will take.

Sarah’s skills were neither very fighting-oriented nor very trade worker type.

"I would like to become a special soldier." She stated making Lucas frown. She knew that he would not take her seriously.

"I don’t want to be safe in the shelter while you and every one risk their life, I will fight in the front line as my skills are good at it." She said with a determined face, Lucas couldn’t help but give her a nod in approval after a little hesitation.

"I will ask you again, are you sure? Because you can’t change it till I give you the heads up and it won’t be for a long time."

Lucas did not say anything further and gave her the role of a special soldier. Now he had two of these soldiers, both competent and because of their skills, considered really special when it came to soldiers.

"Now…" Lucas looked at the last one that had to be given a role. Ella had a small smile as if everything was already decided by her.

"Ella, what have you selected?" Lucas asked and felt uncomfortable calling him and even John without the honorifics of Uncle and Aunt.

But it was something John came up with and he had to go by it in order to have his authority looked upon highly by the others.

No honorifics as he was the one who was above them all, he was the leader. His status didn’t allow him to say it like this in official meetings such as this one.

"Yes, I will take the Beastmaster role."

Everyone went quiet after listening to her, only John was still calm as he had known about it already.

"Beastmaster?" Lucas scrolled through all the roles and only by reaching the near end did he find Beastmaster.

"Please explain yourself," Lucas stated with calmness not letting his curiosity get the better of him.

"I am the only one who has the beast tamer skill, I don’t think we can get this skill normally so it would be better if I utilize it completely. I want to demonstrate something to everyone, your view of this role will change after it."

Ella closed her eyes and soon, Lucas activated his perceptive eyes instinctively and found a wave of energy leaving Ella every two seconds. The wave of energy was the color he had not seen on anything before, it was grayish or transparent or something that Lucas could not decipher properly.

Suddenly, he found another color signature coming from the far. It was not from the shelter yet it crossed the defenses as if it was nothing.

He deactivated his skill to look at the upcoming creature properly.

"What?" Jerry took out his mace from the side of his waist and was ready to kill the small creature anytime soon.

"Don’t kill it, Jerry." Ella said and crouched.

The creature that everyone by now knew was the rat of this world came running toward Ella and without any hesitation jumped on her hand.

Ella scratched its neck with a smile while the small creature kept making squeaking noises.

"This is my second tamed beast," Ella stated while keeping the small guy on her shoulder and facing Lucas again who was now flabbergasted.

"Do you mean you can tame any creature you like?" He asked with eyebrows up.

"Not any but I can tame any creature that is willing or has intelligence lower than mine. As for how I tamed this rat… I showed it pictures of a lot of free food and offered it to become a tamed beast. He didn’t seem to mind it at all." Ella chuckled and scratched the rat’s chin while it was holding her finger with tiny hands.

It was standing on its hind legs.

"That is fantastic!" Lucas exclaimed only to stop with his behavior. He went back to being calm again and gave a nod to her.

"We will discuss your ability in detail later, now, I will ask you again. Do you want to officially have this role?"

"Yes"

Lucas nodded and gave her the role letting her get the notification. His face bloomed in a smile.

"You all have a role now. After you have it, your duties are what it entails in the description. As for one more menial information that I have to give, please listen to me carefully for what I say for the next few seconds."

Lucas looked at them all and his seriousness made them wonder as to what he was going to say.

"I know you all will never betray me, the shelter and the territory. But there is a small rule that comes automatically with the territory. It is that whoever betrays the territory or leaves it behind will have all their skill proficiencies and levels decreased by 20%. Beware of the fact that this is not what I implemented but what already came with the territory."

Lucas expected a retaliation and looked at everyone but nobody even made a face to his surprise. They were normal as if this information meant nothing to them.

Lucas now refrained from saying something like ’If someone doesn’t want to live with these conditions, then leave right now.’ As this felt like an overkill.

"The meeting is adjourned!" Lucas exclaimed and got off the wooden log he was standing at all this time.

"Aunt Ella, how many of these have you tamed already?" Lucas after brisking his way toward Ella asked her with glowing eyes, his curiosity had finally taken the better of him.

"It’s only this little one and he here. I think I have a limit with how many I tame with each level." She said while patting the basilon at its head.
