Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 245: Expedition to Destinations Unknown (3)
"You think?" Hearing that his brother was unsure about how stable the Barrier was, Aoni couldn't help but counter with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't give me that look; I already told you my knowledge is lacking in the Formations Department. Unlike Arrays, which are pretty easy to read, Formations interweave multiple Arrays to create a synergistic circuit. Basically, if you don't know what you are looking at, have fun trying to read it."
Looking over and seeing the glazed-over eyes returning his gaze, Anthony sighed and flicked Aoni on the forehead.
"Bunch of circles connected together makes big shiny thing go BRRRR!"
"Ohhhh, okay, okay, I see, so they all work together to serve a common function by linking up like parts in a computer…that makes sense."
"What…"
"Hm… you say something?" Blinking multiple times, with eyebrows raised in mock surprise and making bubbles with his lips, Aoni asked.
"I swear, sometimes you seem so much smarter than me, and other times, it's like you have less than a single brain cell. Ah, so that's it, you overwork that brain cell, so it takes forever to process information, like running an outdated CPU but trying to play a high-end video game."
It wasn't like Anthony was unaware of his youngest brother's…peculiar mind, but it was only when moments like this happened that he really wanted to toss Aoni to Clara for punishment.
{'Brother, enemies spotted South South West of your position, six packs of puppies, three scaley guys, and a group of those ugly Gobbys.'}
{'Copy that, SSW, Six Wolf Packs, Three groups of Ice Lizards, and a horde of Goblins.'}
"Nyria found the morning Monster Tide; care to join me, or you gonna sit here and stare out into the distance like a popstar on the cover of a debut album?" Reaching into his inventory and grabbing out his compass, Aoni asked while strapping it to his wrist.
"Miss out on my Baby brother fighting? Pfft, yeah, right, let's go; I won't act, but watching will be worthwhile."
With that said, the brothers calmly walked toward the southern side of the wall, jumped off, and headed in the direction of the enemies while being directed by Nyria.
---
The battle was as every other one had gone in the past, Aoni staying back, blasting heads, while Nyria rained projectiles from above. The only thing missing was a certain furry missile dashing here and there, hacking through anything that moved, which Aoni and his hook swords replaced after thinning the herd with sniper shots.
Meanwhile, Anthony stood back and watched everything with a keen eye.
Although it wasn't his first time watching Aoni fight, this was by far the most interesting. Mainly because all those other times were essentially one-sided beatings wherein Clara, or even his brother's classmates at the Academy, would make short work kicking the shit out of him; however, then and now were like night and day.
'His combat awareness is beyond anything I could pull off, or even Clarissa, for that matter, it's like he's a war vet forged in the crucible of battle. He moves around unimpeded and flawlessly like a ghost, weaving in and out of his opponents before killing them without an ounce of hesitation or remorse…honestly, it's terrifying.' Anthony thought as his eyes followed every one of Aoni's movements.
'He's not fast by any means, but his speed is well above what could be classified as E+, right on the threshold of D-; it's the same with his attack power.'
'But what really gets me is the fact hes adamant about Dual Wielding; apart from giving him a little bit more experience using two weapons, it isn't actually giving him much benefit. OH, I see; the Dual Wielding helps with those annoyingly complex Hook Swords, makes sense.'
'His magic, on the other hand…leaves a lot to be desired.'
---
"Whew, annnd Done," collapsing onto his ass with a fake tired sigh, Aoni stored away the last of his material gains into a chest and then tossed it to Nyria so she could bring it back to the Manor.

"You can bring it all back and store it in the warehouse, then can you wake up that lazy bum 'cause we have an adventure to go on.."
{'Sure thing, brother, but is it really alright that I don't go with you guys…I feel bad.'}
"Nah, don't worry bout it; I know you don't like the idea of leaving the Barrier, so it's totally fine. Plus, someone's gotta hang back and be on the lookout in case any baddies try sneaking in." Reaching over and gently petting his summon, Aoni didn't even think twice when it came to not forcing Nyria to leave the Territory.
He'd made her a promise and planned to always stick to it. If she didn't want to leave, then no problem; he would find other tasks for the birb to do in the meantime.
---
Staring off in the distance and watching Nyria fly away, Anthony eventually looked down at his brother, who was splayed out and lying in a clean patch of snow like some kind of polar creature.
"You sure it's a good idea to leave her behind? I mean, we could always use her scouting ability." He asked, causing Aoni to open his eyes and look up at him.
"Nyria is a bit different… when I summoned her…" Aoni went straight into the explanation of Nyria's circumstances, from her trauma to her innate fear of leaving the Barrier, and by the end of the summary, Anthony had sat down beside his brother, wearing a complicated expression.
"You did well in dealing with her trauma…to be honest, while it's not unheard of for a summon to have their past imprinted on their emotions, it's still a bit shocking. I, for one, have never had it happen before."
"Still, she seems like a cheery and happy girl, so your method is clearly working." Patting Aoni's shoulder, Anthony helped him up and thought about something for a moment before speaking.
"Question…I noticed something you seem to be having trouble with during the fight…are you unable to move and use your magic attacks?"
"Uh…shit, noticed that did you? Yeah, I've tried just about everything to try and fix that shit, but for some reason beyond my knowledge, be it something like an Ice Bolt, Bullet, or Spear, I am forced to stay in one place if I want to use them."
"…"
"…"
"Aoni…"
"Ant…"
"Are you fucking retarded or something? I mean, I know Dad dropped you that one time, but..."
"WOAH WOAH WAIT WHAT! DAD DROPPED ME?"
"Well, yeah, a couple of times, actually; luckily, Mom never saw, and you didn't even cry, but I swear something must have been rattled in that head of yours because the fix to your issue is so simple I bet Glacia can do it.."
"GAOoOOOOoo"
BANG
As if on cue, after hearing her name said by somebody, a certain floof slid into a tree and knocked a pile of snow down off the branches onto everyone.
