Starting off as an explosion of flavor which certainly didn’t originate from the salt or even the Golden Blood, Aoni’s tastebuds were blasted to kingdom come, and if this were one of those strange cooking Anime, his clothing would have shredded into light particles as he wore a dumb expression.

Thankfully, that wasn’t the case, and although the taste of the meat was otherworldly, it was to an extent expected…considering he was technically in a different world.

The tangy flavor from the blood, when combined with the salt, gave the perfect hint of Salty/Sweet, yet the odd texture of the meat nearly drowned it out.

Turning his back to Glacia so that she couldn’t see he had stolen some of her food, Aoni chewed away, trying to decipher if it was indeed bear or more like venison and to be honest, the only conclusion he could come to was that it was both.

Moving on from that thought, after masticating the mouthful of tender, perfectly cooked Chimera Meat, he swallowed it in one gulp, and that’s when the magic began.

Closing his eyes to focus, he sensed a vast amount of Energia surging through his body, emanating from the small bite he had taken, and if he didn’t know better, the lad would have assumed he was about to explode.

Well, to be fair, he probably would have if this level of condensed Energia had been absorbed directly from a Crystal; however, due to it being seamlessly integrated into the flesh of the Chimera, it had gone through countless cycles of purification and processing.

As such, it was significantly more docile than something as unrestrained as the naturally occurring resource found within Energia Crystals.

Upon reaching his stomach, just like with the Golden Blood, the Energia surged out into his body, cycling through his bloodstream before eventually reaching his EC, where it rapidly began nourishing the organ and, surprisingly enough, expanding its size.

Mind you, the expanse was a fraction of a centimeter, but it was still more than enough to cause a noticeable reaction that Aoni could observe.

Slowly opening his eyes after noticing the absorption was complete, Aoni quickly checked on Glacia and saw she hadn’t even made it a quarter of the way through her pile of meat cubes.

’Well, at least she’s happy; it’s a good thing she isn’t able to count yet, or else, with how deeply my fluff was staring at the meat when I diced it up, she would have noticed the number didn’t match.’ Smiling softly, the lad stepped around his Summon, grabbed another one of the slabs of meat, and began cooking it up.

Although the first slab had been an experiment of sorts, this time around, he used the knowledge obtained and was able to cut down his prep time by more than half; as for the actual cooking portion, it still took a little over an hour to complete, and by that point, a certain furry missile had claimed her spot back on his shoulder and was watching his every move intently.

"Where the hell did you even put it all?" he muttered while finishing up the second slab and dicing it for his little glutton, which ended up getting him ignored a second time.

’Certainly, two is her limit, right?’ Watching Glacia woof down on the meat cubes, Aoni couldn’t help but second-guess his decision of cutting four slabs, and he started to believe he might need a fifth if he wanted to eat as well.

Luckily, by the time the third slab was fully cooked, Glacia had returned to the cave, passed out like a little pig, and was snoring away. A fact which in and of itself was concerning because not only could she be asleep for quite some time, since it was a sign of her body trying to adapt to the influx of Energia, but Aoni was privy to the knowledge that she technically couldn’t advance, due to having reached her Potential’s limit.

Half paying attention to his actions and cutting into his slab, Aoni’s eyes continuously darted toward the cave as a look of concern passed over his face.

’If she is asleep for longer than a few hours, I have no other option than to use my points to upgrade her potential; at least in that way, her gains won’t be limited.’ Nodding silently and using his knife as a fork, the lad brought a large portion of the medium-rare Chimera meat to his mouth and began chowing down.

One bite,

After swallowing the fourth portion, Aoni felt his body begin heating up, causing him to pause for a moment and take a sip of melted snow before continuing on to his fifth, and that’s when he received a notification that nearly caused him to drop his knife directly onto his leg.

’And here I was thinking it was just indigestion; no, do not convert.’ Still gunshy from the last time he was offered this option, Aoni dismissed the notification and continued eating; however, after his 6th bite of Chimera Meat, another pop-up was triggered, only this one was significantly different from the first.

Gently placing his knife down so as not to accidentally stab himself in the leg, Aoni extended his right arm out in front of him, rolled back his sleeve, and pinched himself as hard as possible.

"Ack, NOT A DREAM! Holy Shit, ELEMENTALIZED ENERGIA!" Flabbergasted by the second option, Aoni immediately ignored the first and felt his heart beating so hard it threatened to burst out of his chest if left unattended.
