Life In The Limelight : I Married A Gamer Girl-Chapter 21: Little Bug
Chapter 21 - Little Bug
The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the bedroom. Kazuma stirred slightly, still half-asleep, when he felt a familiar warmth press against him. Masako had curled up next to him, her arms wrapped around his waist as she nestled her head against his chest. Her golden eyes were still half-closed, a playful smile tugging at her lips.
"Good morning, dear," she murmured, her voice soft and sweet.
Kazuma blinked groggily, his light blue eyes focusing on her. "Morning, sweetie," he replied, his voice still heavy with sleep. "You're up early."
Masako grinned, tightening her hold on him. "I'm not really up. I just wanted to cuddle."
Kazuma chuckled softly, brushing a strand of dark brown hair from her face. "Well, you've got me, but I should probably get up soon. We've got work to do."
Masako's smile faltered, and she pouted playfully. "Nope," she said, shaking her head. "You're staying right here with me. Work can wait."
"Masako," Kazuma began, but before he could say more, she shifted, pinning him down against the mattress. Her golden eyes gleamed with mischief as she straddled him, her hands resting on his shoulders to keep him in place.
"You're not going anywhere, dear," she teased, leaning closer. Her body pressed against his, and he could feel the warmth of her hips and thighs as she rubbed against him. "You work too hard. You deserve to relax a little."
Kazuma's cheeks turned red, and he tried to shift away, but Masako's grip was firm. "Masako, this isn't fair," he said, his voice flustered.
"Life isn't fair, dear," she said with a giggle, moving her hips slightly and watching his light blue eyes widen. "Besides, you look so cute when you're flustered."
Kazuma groaned, his blush deepening as he tried to regain his composure. But the way Masako leaned into him, her soft curves pressing against his chest, made it impossible to focus. "Alright, that's it," he muttered, his voice taking on a more determined tone.

In one swift motion, Kazuma flipped their positions, pinning Masako down beneath him. Her golden eyes widened in surprise, but a delighted grin quickly replaced her shock. "Oh, dear," she said, her tone playful. "Looks like you're not so helpless after all."
Kazuma smirked, his confidence returning as he leaned down and captured her lips in a deep, assertive kiss. Masako's playful demeanor softened as she melted into the kiss, her arms wrapping around his neck. The moment lingered, their affection for each other filling the room as they forgot about everything else.
When they finally pulled away, Masako's cheeks were flushed, and her golden eyes sparkled with affection. "Okay, maybe staying in bed isn't such a bad idea," she admitted, her voice breathless.
Kazuma chuckled, resting his forehead against hers. "I thought you'd see things my way," he said softly.
The couple stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other's warmth and enjoying the quiet intimacy of the morning. Eventually, Masako let out a content sigh, running her fingers through Kazuma's light blue hair. "You know," she said, her tone teasing, "if we keep this up, we're going to be late for work."
"Maybe," Kazuma replied, brushing his lips against hers again. "But I think it's worth it."
Masako laughed softly, her golden eyes shining with love. "I guess I can agree with that."
After a while, they finally decided to get out of bed and start their day, though neither could deny that their little morning detour had made everything feel a little brighter. As they prepared for work, their bond felt even stronger, a reminder that no matter how busy life got, they always had time for each other.
The day had started off so peacefully after their cozy morning together, but as afternoon rolled in, the atmosphere in their home office shifted. Kazuma sat hunched over his desk, his light blue eyes fixed on the error messages flooding his screen. The game had been running smoothly during testing until this moment—a critical bug that seemed to pop up out of nowhere, breaking the system entirely. Every fix he tried only made things worse.
"This doesn't make any sense," Kazuma muttered, his frustration evident in the sharp click of his keyboard. "It was working fine yesterday."
Masako, seated across from him at her own desk, noticed his tense posture and furrowed brow. She paused her work, setting her tablet down as her golden eyes softened with concern. "Dear, what's wrong?" she asked, standing up and walking over to him.
Kazuma sighed heavily, leaning back in his chair and running a hand through his hair. "There's a bug in the new build, and I can't figure out what's causing it. It's completely breaking the system, and no matter what I do, it just keeps crashing."
Masako placed her hands on his shoulders, gently massaging them as she leaned down to look at the screen. "Okay, let's take a breath first," she said, her voice calm and soothing. "You've been staring at this for hours, and stressing out isn't going to help."
"I don't have time to relax," Kazuma replied, his tone sharper than he intended. He immediately winced and looked up at her. "Sorry, sweetie. I'm just... overwhelmed."
Masako smiled warmly, leaning down to kiss his cheek. "It's okay, dear. I know how much you care about getting things right. But you're not alone in this, remember?"
Kazuma glanced up at her, her golden eyes radiating an unshakable optimism that immediately began to ease the tension in his chest. "I know," he admitted softly. "You're always here for me."
"Always," Masako said with a grin. She straightened up and clapped her hands together. "Alright! First, you're going to stand up and stretch. Then, I'm going to make us some tea, and we'll tackle this bug together."
Kazuma hesitated, but the warmth in her voice made it impossible to refuse. "Alright," he said, standing up and letting her guide him away from his desk.
A few minutes later, Kazuma sat back down with a steaming cup of tea in his hands, Masako seated beside him. She had pulled her chair close, and her presence alone seemed to lighten the heavy atmosphere.
"Now," Masako said, leaning over to examine the code on his screen, "walk me through what's happening. Even if I don't understand all the technical details, maybe talking it out will help you see it differently."
Kazuma smiled faintly, appreciating her effort. "Okay," he said, launching into an explanation of the issue. As he spoke, Masako nodded along, occasionally throwing in a playful comment to keep the mood light.
"So, basically," she said after a moment, "this bug is like a sneaky little villain hiding in your code, right? Well, if games have taught us anything, it's that villains always have a weakness."
Kazuma chuckled despite himself. "That's... one way to look at it."
"Exactly," Masako said with a wink. "And you're the hero who's going to save the day. Or, more specifically, our game."
Her infectious optimism made Kazuma feel a spark of motivation returning. He took a deep breath and returned to the problem with fresh eyes, Masako staying by his side the entire time. She continued to offer words of encouragement, occasionally leaning over to rest her head on his shoulder or placing a soft kiss on his cheek to cheer him up.
"You're amazing, dear," she said at one point, her golden eyes shining. "I know you'll figure this out. You always do."
After what felt like an eternity of trial and error, Kazuma finally spotted the issue. "There it is," he said, his light blue eyes lighting up with relief. "I found the problem. It was a misplaced loop causing the system to overload."
Masako gasped dramatically, placing a hand over her heart. "The villain revealed their weakness! You did it, dear!"
Kazuma laughed, the weight of the day finally lifting from his shoulders. "I couldn't have done it without you, sweetie. You're the best support system I could ever ask for."
Masako grinned, leaning in to give him a quick kiss on the lips. "And don't you forget it."
With the bug resolved, the couple spent the rest of the day fine-tuning the build, the earlier tension replaced with laughter and lighthearted banter. No matter how stressful things got, Masako's unwavering love and positivity always reminded Kazuma that, together, they could handle anything.
