Seeing Luna's bubbly face, Ethan could only chuckle lightly. Of course, he knew her range would be so monstrous. Why wouldn't it be when everything else about her was monstrous?

He continued to look up to see if he could achieve that same range when his face changed and he suddenly realized he had made a mistake once again.

There was a big problem with shooting them down like this. What about gravity and what not? He was not some physics genius but wouldn't the bird drop down right on their heads like a hot damn missile?

But he quickly saw that his worry was for nothing. The bird was falling rather slowly. It was almost floating around rather than dropping down dead. It gave the perfect opportunity for the zither wings to get up there and finish them or drag them down for his minions to finish the job.

Still, he kept his guard up. He wasn't about to assume things would stay this easy.

"Luna, keep picking them off one by one. Let them fall. Zither Wings, be ready to intercept and drag them down faster."

His flying summons flitted to attention, their sharp, insectoid bodies shimmering under the dungeon's soft light.

As Luna continued her deadly game of target practice, the Zither Wings moved in sync, catching the falling birds mid-air and dragging them down before they could recover.

Ethan was tempted to join them to see how much he could push his personal range but he was still summoning his army. A mass summoning spell would make his life a lot easier but then again it would only be useless with his small mana pool.

But he did not complain because every time he summoned it was a good practise for him as he tried to understand how the summoning skill worked. He summoned all of his dud minions one after the other.

The slimes started jiggling towards the almost dead birds and choked out whatever life was left in them. The spiders used their venom first before starting to spin their web around the prey, pretty much using a similar choking method to kill their target.

The worm thankfully became a little better with level upgrade. It could now bite bigger chunks of flesh from the target and slowly tore away at the wounded area.

The other good news was that these simple beasts required a lot less experience points for leveling up which meant things were quicker than usual. Ultimately it looked like everything was related to one's potential. The lower potential ones, the weaker ones required lesser effort to level up.

Soon, the group became a well-oiled machine, quickly bringing down the birds one after the other.

Luna hummed happily as she lobbed another fireball into the sky, watching as yet another bird burst into flames before plummeting.

Ethan almost felt bad for them.

Almost.

Lia on the side was busy casting buffs and healing anything that required healing.

The flock of birds also started closing in on the group. A few minutes later, they managed to reach all the way to the platform and were now circling around the group ready to dive down and peck something to death.

Ethan quickly dismissed all of his dud minions not wanting to lose out on all the hard work in case of an accidental death. Only the zitherwings, Tweety, Ethan, Lia, and Luna remained.

Tweety was already at level 25 and was no longer as weak as before. With no one holding back, the group quickly started shooting down the remaining birds.

Ethan sent balls of fire aiming for the birds, trying to compete with Luna but he quickly decided to let go of the competition. There was no winning when it came to that little monster. He did pull down a good amount of the birds with his zither wings working extra hard.

In the end, all they needed was a few more minutes to finish off the whole dungeon. There was no boss at the end and now all that was left was the loot collection.

"Alright, we got everything!" Ethan said, feeling good. He swept up the loot into the magic pouch and just like that another dungeon run was completed. He looked at his system interface for the progress as they began to step out of the dungeon.

A few more minions had reached level 25. Now only a handful was left and the next dungeon would definitely do the trick. "Wait, Luna what level are you?"

"I am at level 30 big brother!" She chimed in immediately.

"Hmmm?" Ethan was confused. "Did you already evolve from an F rank to an E rank?"

Mmmm. Luna hummed. "I don't know what you are asking me." She shook her head vigorously.

Ethan tried asking her for more details but it looked like she really did not know anything. At this point, he could only assume that her natural level for evolving to the next rank was probably a lot higher than just level 25.

Wait, was that going to affect his evolution? Technically both Lia and Luna were his summons but they were assigned to a different category by the system. They did not get dismissed when he tried to dismiss them and they cannot be summoned. Perhaps their level did not matter after all.

But then again, Lia was unable to progress while he was still stuck at level 25. Maybe their levels did matter?

Ethan was mulling over things as he walked out when suddenly another group blocked their path. "Wait, you cannot leave." The tall one commanded, not bothering to spare a glance at him.

Ethan frowned. He was trying to stay low and avoid trouble but this sort of attitude was getting on his nerves. Normally, he would ignore these rich bratty snobs and walk away but this guy was way too confrontational and was standing right in from of his face, with no regard for his personal space.

Ethan felt a spike of anger but he forced himself to stay calm. He knew better than to let some idiot compromise their safety.
