Limitless Summoner: Rise of the Soul God-Chapter 174: You said Orange?
Ethan grimaced. The Queen barely flinched under the enhanced fireball—her armor had absorbed the brunt of the impact, and even the searing flames hadn't pierced deep enough. But he wasn't about to give up now.
Shouting the words of power again and again, Ethan hastily finished the hand signs and spewed out more fire and then some more fire. However, it looked like the intensity of his attack was simply not enough. He did manage to make some cracks, but that was it.
Ethan did not mind. He only smiled. He knew he was lacking in the mage department. Heck, this was the reason why he had joined the academy in the first place. However, these basic spells were not the only weapons in his arsenal.
He used minor teleportation and quickly moved from the spot, once again putting distance between him and the termite queen.
The creature wasn't happy with it. She let out a loud screech, and the next moment, her speed increased several fold. It looked like she would catch up to Ethan in no time. However, just as she dashed toward him, Ethan used the other thing he had been practising all this time.
Spirit Magic.
According to Ethan's little experiments, this was something that can be used on inanimate things and also animate beings for example, this termite queen in front of him.
When he was relaxing for the past few days in the small town, he had confirmed this. He had repeatedly willed for the townsfolk and the students walking past him to trip, and he was successful one out of ten times.
In the beginning, he thought this ability was similar to telekinesis and that there was nothing special about it, but when he thought about applying his will and tested it out by using human subjects, everything became a lot more complicated.
It turned out Spirit Magic was not mere telekinesis after all.
It was intent—raw, unfiltered intent layered over reality. The more clear and forceful his will, the more likely the outcome bent in his favor.
Unlike Elemental Magic, which followed rules and mana flow, Spirit Magic answered only to dominance. To clarity. To belief. It wasn't about overwhelming power. It was about absolute conviction. At least that's the only way he had made it work so far.
Ethan looked at the termite queen, who was dashing toward him like a bullet train. He reached his hand forward and then made a crunching motion.
The Acid Queen jerked mid-charge. Her front legs buckled awkwardly, and her massive frame lurched to the side as if tripping over an invisible thread.
The crunching gesture Ethan had made didn't physically touch her—but it did. Her left mandible, the thicker one, suddenly snapped inward with a dry, sickening pop, not shattered by force but willed into breaking. She stumbled and let out a screeching, furious cry, green venom sloshing wildly within her translucent abdomen.
Ethan instantly felt the energy drain from his body. Spirit magic was effective but he still had a long way to go to train it. However, he had already achieved the result he wanted. Now that the termite queen was all out of wack, he ordered his lesser demons to make the move.
The lesser demons surged forward like hounds unleashed. With the Acid Queen momentarily stunned, their claws and blades flashed through the dust-choked air, aiming directly for the cracks Ethan's fire and Spirit Magic had carved into her armor.
The Queen's shrieks turned sharper—less fury, more desperation. She thrashed.
Acid splashed in wide arcs, melting stone, eating through summoned limbs, but the treants were there again, pulsing their healing magic outward. Ethan could feel the strain ripple through his connection to them—mana burning like fire in his veins—but he held on.
"Now, Gale!" he shouted.
A blur of silver wind burst forward. Gale, the Wind Wolf, moved like a streak of lightning through the gaps between acid streams and flailing limbs.
He leapt straight toward the Queen's exposed neck joint—the single place where her chitin had cracked during the stumble—and sank his teeth deep. Wind burst outward from the impact point, amplifying the force. The crack widened.
One of the insectoids drove its spear-like limb straight into the same spot. With a tearing shriek, the Queen's massive form shuddered and toppled. Green venom sprayed in a final jet of fury as her screeches weakened.

[Ding! You have killed the Dungeon Boss Termite Queen.]
[Ding! The entity Termite Queen has been added to your Summoning List.]
Ethan smiled tiredly, skipping over the rest of the notifications. Originally, he did not plan on adding any termites to his team, but looking at the corpse of the queen and the couple of broken eggs that were attached to her body, he had an idea.
If he added a few more termites to the team, then coupled with the Queen, would he be able to generate his own termite colony in the future. A strong, mutant termite colony?
The idea was too crazy to pass up, so Ethan added a few more termites to the team. He would tinker with this idea later. He was way too wiped out right now.
On the side, his minions were also finishing off all the mobs. He ordered them to leave a couple of termites behind, and the rest of the dungeon was quickly wrapped up.
The battlefield finally quieted down, and all the loot was packed up. Ethan tiredly stood up and placed everything in the pouch. He then walked out to the vendor's section again.
Arlson immediately beamed. "Another blue portal loot? Bring it on, brat. Let me see what you got this time."
However, Ethan flatly ignored him this time. "Our deal is already over." He walked two shops over and then took out the storage pouch. "I would like to trade the loot from an orange portal dungeon.
"You said Orange?" The shopkeeper blurted out, immediately standing up and paying a lot more attention and respect to Ethan.
Arlson could only watch in regret as someone else reaped the rewards because of his stupidity.
