Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 156: Going Home Together
Silas Sutton’s appearance in Stella Grant’s office caused a stir in the company.
Many people from other departments seized the chance to come to the project department, eager to catch a glimpse of her.
"I heard President Sutton came to your project department this afternoon. Is that true?"
"Are you here to verify data or to gossip?"
"Both, both, come on, tell me."
The female employee being questioned gestured towards Stella Grant’s closed office door with a smirk in her tone, "It wasn’t the project department he came to, but our project manager’s office."
A glint of insight flashed in the other person’s eyes, "Manager Grant and President Sutton..."
Female employee, "Don’t talk nonsense, I didn’t say anything."
The other person, "How long were they in the office together?"
As they were talking, Stella Grant came out of her office with some documents.
Seeing Stella, the two quickly lowered their heads and pretended to be verifying data earnestly.
After a while, Stella left in her high heels, and the female employee patted her chest in relief, "She scared me to death. You better go back to your department."
The other person not only didn’t leave but winked playfully, "You should learn from her. If you had her skills, you might have been the project manager by now."
The female employee sneered, "No way, my family is strict, I can’t do such disgraceful things."
Rumors were rife in the project department, but Stella was completely unaware, proceeding with the usual process of submitting contracts.
She had just handed over Shawn Bishop’s contract documents, and her bank card immediately received the project commission.
As she looked at the bank balance on her phone, Stella clenched her phone tightly.
She had waited all these years, finally having the chance to bring Lynn Adler closer to her.
Meanwhile, at the president’s office.
After returning to his office, Silas Sutton yanked off his tie and threw it on the desk, calling Forrest Keller in with a grim expression, "Where’s the bodyguard I arranged for Stella Grant?"
Forrest Keller had just learned about the incident at the company entrance today. He didn’t dare to even breathe loudly, "Arranged."
Silas Sutton, "Where were they when Stella got into trouble?"
Forrest didn’t dare to respond or make a sound.
Silas Sutton’s voice was cold, "Replace them."
Forrest quickly replied, "Understood."
Having resolved this matter, Silas Sutton rubbed his temples to adjust his mood, and when he spoke again, the coldness in his voice had diminished somewhat, "What is the third doing lately?"
Forrest answered, "Getting treatment. I heard he was hospitalized a couple of days ago."
Silas Sutton chuckled mockingly, "Really sick or just pretending?"
Forrest replied honestly, "Not sure. The hospital is surrounded by the elder son’s family. They say he’s seriously ill. Even the old master went to visit personally."
A cold gleam flashed in Silas Sutton’s deep eyes, "He hasn’t had it easy all these years, dragging around a sickly body, yet still dreaming of securing a place for the elder son."
Forrest remained silent.
He dared not respond to that comment.
After finishing speaking, Silas Sutton paused for about half a minute, looking at Forrest, "I want you to investigate someone for me."
Forrest responded, "Go ahead."
Silas Sutton squinted his eyes slightly, "Stella Grant’s assistant."
Forrest, having worked for Silas Sutton for many years, knew well to just follow orders without asking questions, "Understood, President Sutton."
At six-thirty in the evening, Stella clocked out of work on time.
As soon as she arrived at the underground parking garage by elevator, she saw Silas Sutton leaning against a car, blocking her path.
Silas Sutton wore a black satin shirt and trousers, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, relaxed and nonchalant, charming yet not sleazy.
The two exchanged glances, and Silas Sutton’s eyes glimmered with a trace of mischief, "Shall we go home together?"
